Goomba's Freebie of the Week #4 - Various Prizes

Wow, all of these people saying that they found ridiculously good (and expensive!) games at tag sales, pawn shops, thrift shops is making me re-think my buying habits. I, too, bought MVC2 on launch day for Dreamcast and paid the full $50 for it. It was worth every penny of course, but less than $3? That's virtually stealing it ^_^ Great job! I gotta start game hunting more often (not that I ever get around to playing all of these games these days).

Prize wanted:
Puzzle Quest (PSP)

Most prized game in collection:
Thousand Arms (PS1). I've yet to see another copy...

As for the prize:

Soul Calibur III (PS2)

As for my prize game in my collection:

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness

Why: Bought the game on a whim on it's release with no prior knowledge of it, took it home and tossed it in and was like what the hell this is PSone graphics and what the hell kind of battle system is this. I did not have many SRPG's under my belt at the time, but after putting 300+ hours into it and loving every minute It turned me into a rabbid NIS fan so I went out and snagged every other PS2 title they came out with stateside. To this day I still have that original run copy of Disgaea and still like to play it once in awhile.

Thanks

P.S I am already a goozex member my user name is : Derrick1979

1 - 06) Puzzle Quest (PSP - Brand New)

2 - Animal Crossing GC because that was the frist game that I bought with my own money.

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Tony Hawk's American Sk8land (DS)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

Great question! Three titles sprang instantly to mind, but I guess I'll go with Toejam & Earl for the Sega Genesis. I always loved the game anyway, but it stands out in my mind because I have so many memories of playing it with my wife back when we first met and had just started dating. She's not much of a gamer, and it's the only game we've ever really played together, aside from the occasional round of various Mario Party titles with our kids. I'm not really into retro-gaming, but once every year or two I make an exception, dust off the Genesis, and play a little TJ&E with my wife.

Derrick1979,

That's cool that you're a big Disgaea fan :) I actually am getting my copy for the PSP this week so I'm psyched to see what it's all about. I'm not sure I can really afford a 300+ hour game with my backlog of nearly 100 games but at least it's portable and I can play on the way to work (our casino has a shuttle bus) and on my breaks ^_^ That's why I love my Nintendo DS so much...portable heaven!

I'll enter you for the Goozex listing as well then since this week we're doing the Goozex bonus drawing. Good luck!

Danimal,

Glad to see a fellow Futurama fan here on CAG :) I also loved the original TJ&E and one of these days I'll get around to downloading it on the Virtual Console (Wii) because I'm selling my Genesis now to make room for my new eBay store's storage area/office. Great choice and I like how you tied it in with you dating your wife :) very touching!

Grecco, I'm curious what you think of Samba de Amigo for the Wii. I always wanted to play it on the Dreamcast but never had the maracas. The new one looks graphically impressive, and I'm sure the wii remotes will work fine as maracas, but do you think it'll be as fun without the instruments to shake? I don't see how it could be...[/quote]

I want to play it but i dont know if it will be as fun. They might use the speaker to put out the "marraca" sound but its not the same. Still wanna play it though

Grecco,

I agree...I think it WILL be fun, but I don't see why they can't release some crazy wireless maracas set or even an official maraccas attachment for the Wii Remote. Granted it's a bit silly, but I'd totally dig it (not 3rd party knock off ones though).

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)
Knuckles Plushie
2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?
To be honest it is a tie between my copy of bust a groove, which though it is beat to hell and is missing most of the book i spent the better part of a year trying to find that blasted game, and when i found it at a store a mile from my house i almost had a heart attack. Or the copy of Chrono Cross my not only was it the first rpg that i ever beat on my own with no help from a friend, but it is my favorite and it was given to me by my late grandparents so it has a lot of sentimental value.

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

-Puzzle Quest (PSP)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

-Well... I wouldn't call it a "collection" but I have a TON of GameBoy games for the first GameBoy that came out. The one that I probably prize the most is my copy of Super Mario Land 2. Dang, that game is fun.

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Puzzle Quest

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

It would be Chrono Trigger because I still considered it to be the best RPG I've ever played. It has an amazing story, wonderful characters, and the best soundtracks. This game is the reason I still have my Snes hooked up to the TV.

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (Nintendo Gamecube - Some scratches, plays fine)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

i would have to say the game i prize the most is Skies of Arcadia for the GC because at one point i was having a rough time around the time i got it with my friend passing away and dealing with financial problems... my boyfriend had bought it for me so i was so happy.. not to mention its one of the best rpgs i have played :p

02) Sonic Plushie

Age of Empires on PC was probably one the most rememable games of my life. Playing it online on the msn gaming zone (zone.com) left me with some good memories. A shame that microsoft shut it down though, i'll miss it.

03) Knuckles Plushie (Similar to the Sonic one)

Chrono Trigger. Not only is it my favorite game, it is probably the rarest complete game I own.

1. Tony Hawk's American Sk8land

2. Super Mario World because it was my first game. I got that game and my SNES for christmas when I was 4 or 5. I still have the SNES, but I traded all my games to funcoland to help pay for a N64. That was the biggest mistake of my life. I went yardsaling this summer and didn't find ANY SNES games!! I just need to wait for the next yardsale season. I will never trade any of my games again.

Im hoping they release some sort of shell, like the tennis racket, golf club, baseball bat shells that some company released. That would be easyer and good enough for the experience

1) The remake of Resident evil 1 for the Gamecube, it give me an excuse to fire up the system again! And its a game I've been waiting to play for a while.

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why

ICO, not only is it hard to find, but I got it cheap. And its enjoyable to play despite being a little on the odd side.

Prize: Puzzle Quest PSP

Guitar Hero(s) as my son's and I can rock out together.
Quality Male Bonding.

Edit: They Kick my ASS every time!

Prize---Puzzle Quest. It seems interesting, and I'd like to try it.

Other question----Super Mario 64. The first 3-dimensioal game I ever played, and it introduced me to my love of gaming.

1: 14) Resident Evil ["REmake"] (Gamecube - Complete - Player's Choice)

2: THPS1. I loved the game when i first got it, and have been playing it over and over again. No matter HOW many other Tony Hawk games come out, they are not as good as the first one.

Spider-Man 2 GC

My most prized game is Super Mario Bros/Duck hunt for the NES. I remember the christmas I got my first Nintendo, I knew my parents didnt have a whole lot of money, but somehow they got me the NES and ive kept that game ever since.

1) Puzzle Quest for PSP, because I didn't win it last week

2) The Legend of Zelda for NES, because it's just a sweet looking cart

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Puzzle Quest (PSP - Brand New)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

It would probably be Beyond Good & Evil for the GC. I bought it for really chheap ~$20 and had an amazing experience throughout that I haven't had with another game. The great concept about the game was the constant raising of how big the storyline was getting. At the beginning you think it's some action adventure version of Pokemon Snap but by the end it's a full on Sci-fi epic. I'll probably replay it sometime over Christmas when I retire my Gamecube to my mother's house.

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

10 Goombabucks

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

That would have to be Halo: CE for the Xbox. It is by far the best game I have ever played in my entire life. Bungie is just so awesome.

The Questions:

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Resident Evil ["REmake"] (Gamecube - Complete - Player's Choice)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

Gof Of War for PS2 because I still believe it is the best action game to date since it was released.

I'd love prince of persia.

So far, the game i prize the most would be Super Mario Bros 3, original cartridge for the NES. IT's so fun! I would love to play it on the old "clunker" but it looks like it broke.. I loved playing it. Now i'll have to resort to VC. Otherwise, i'll have to say LOZ:TP/SMG/Z&W. :)

1) Which prize would you select : Resident Evil Remake (GC)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why? Shenmue For Dc because it was the best game I ever played, played about a week straight until i finished

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Knuckles Plushie!

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

(I'm also a goozex member: poisonedpawn45)

1: Resident Evil (Gamecube - Complete - Player's Choice)

2: Legend oz Zelda: OoT for the N6. It's my favorite cause it's a game that I enjoy playing over and over on. Also it is one of the first games that I bought with my own money. I have such good memories with the game. I remember teh first time I played it I lost track of time I played it for 5 hours straight with out even noticing the time. The only reason I realized the time was when my brother came back to tell me it was dinner time. :)

(I am a Goozex Member: Hylian)

$10 Gift Certificate (Goombucks) to my eBay auctions (No expiration)

FFX the best of the series and only one i have completed over 3 times!

1) Knuckles Plushie.

2) Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA because I've put more hours into that game than any other game, ever. About 90 hours and I can still play on.

(Goozex under Longstarrr)

12) Soul Calibur III (Playstation 2 - Disc only)

The game most prized in my collection is my N64 smash because I've put way too many hours into that game and I'm actually good on a competitive level.

Goozex - mofo1115

If I win this I'll choose Soul Calibur 3

Well my most valued game is probably Yoshi Island for the SNES,not only it was my first video game,it is also my most played SNES game, and it was the only game my Dad played with me,he helped me with some of the stages that I couldn't do,lots of memories.

The Questions:

1) Which prize would you select (if you're chosen as the winner you will get the prize that you chose in your response)

Your selection of cube games are killing me...but I'll have to go with Mario Clash because I have 8 vb games and this aint one of them!
11) Mario Clash (Virtual Boy - Cartridge only)...Yeah I owned a virtual boy :)

2) What is the one game in your collection that you prize the most and why?

My most prized game in my collection would have to be metal storm for the nes. This game gave me a "WOW" moment when I first started collecting. When I started collecting NES games I started grabbing every game I could remember from childhood. However, I picked up a box of misc games one time and a CIB metal storm was there. Cool mech on the front, I tried it and loved it. It is a side-scrolling shooter that has a cool gravity flip mechanic that leads to some cool puzzles. It made me realize the fact that there were some hidden gems in the game world.

ps. I signed up under you for goozex. so Im a member now.

1. The Knuckles Plushie

2. My most prized game is Halo 3. The co-op campaign was so cool and it ended the series well.

I'm a Goozex member too!
