I'm assuming it is randomly they update the point value for their games, but I'm just wondering if there is any logic or reasoning to when they are updated and why?

Do they exist in their own little world? Or do they take into account things in the real world?

I only ask because I am interested in Red Faction Guerrilla and Saints Row 2. Both are available for 20 bucks or less new, but Goozex still wants 500 ($25) and 600 ($30) points for them. Sure with the 50% off sale I make off well regardless, but if they will update them to sub 400 points in the next month or two I would rather wait for that.

The game values are usually updated on a weekly basis. There is another variable they take into account. Things such as supply + demand come into part. Also, if a game is priced slightly higher but there are still a lot of active requests + trades, they are likely to keep the points around the same. Of course, the system doesn't catch every anomaly and sometimes things are worth more or less than they should be. For the most part though, things work out to be pretty accurate.

dead space has been 500 points for a while. its supply and demand. if a game is trading well they wont see a need to lower the price. if there are more requests then supply it is not unusual for them to raise it. and alternatively if there is a large amount of stock and its not trading they will lower the price.
