Well I have been browsing this forum for a while, and just wanted to share by ultra sick deal I got for a Nintendo Wii. I saw a facebook ad for goguju.com. The site is a reverse auction website so the lowest bidder, who is the most unique wins. I liked the concept, and I think the people who started it went to UCI, go ANTEATERS!!!! They were starting up I tried a few bids and I actually won it and got a wii now. For those interested there is a 360 premium and gears of war on right now.

It costs $.99 for each bid plus whatever your carrier charges for bids. I could see how they rack up the cost pretty quickly.

I looked at the site and I saw that (it didn't load for me the first time which is what made me think it was an April Foo's thing). That makes it even worse...this really isn't an April Fools joke.

It was pretty easy to win when I did it for the Wii. I sent a text message, first I sent in $20 then I got a response back saying I was a unique bidder but someone had a lower unique bid. I did it again for 1 cent, I got a message saying I was the lowest bidder but the bid was not unique (someone else bid that much). I then did 3 cents and I was the lowest and most unique and actually won the item. Already had a PS3, but thought I could entertain people with the Wii.

More like $0.03 + S&H + $0.99 per bid (in your case, $2.97). Still a killer deal, but it seems kinda like playing the lottery with phenomenally better chances while spending more money to improve the chance.

Sounds about right. Its easy right now because not to many people know how to play. I like the idea, and the people who run the site went to UCI, go anteaters!!!

There's another 'lowest unique bid' reverse auction site out there called Silvertag.com or .net. I forget which, but they advertised like crazy on one of the local radio stations.

I thought about trying it myself, but it was either the .99 per bid 'fee' or something higher than that per bid. Either way, they still make the money for the item if enough people try to outlowball one another.

Does anyone else find it strange that this guy is the only winner on that site and his only posts are in this topic?
