Sometimes, working retail aint so bad.

Letting all MS retail site users know Jade Empire is (or was) available. Now im waiting for forza.

I wouldn't mind doing both at once to save on shipping, but I don't think I'm that patient.
Nice. Must get.. or get someone to get it for me!
why not just pirate it? im sure it would have the same effect

wtf? how would that have the same effect.. I don't download XBox games..

Anyways, my brother just ordered it.. for himself! Grr..

what im saying is the retail site is set up for a reason, and circumventing it removes its reason for being. theres very little difference between having someone who has authorization to get it from the retail site get it for you, and just pirating it.

just saying ^^

You can only order one game at a time, right?

Nope. You can order as much as your point total and budget will allow. Shipping gets progressively cheaper too. One item is about $9, two items is about $15, 3 is about $13, etc.

Hmm, it gives me problems. Probably cause I dont use IE

EDIT - Thats what it was. Using Firefox I didnt get all the menus and text, so I could only order one at a time. It also did display what was instock or not.
i got a question, i work in a small retail mom and pop chain, is there anyway i can get on to the retail site?
sorry, bump, am curious.

You have to select what store you work at in your profile from the list given. They do not have an option for an independent store. They also do not have an "other" option you can select.
thanks led, i shall do that..i mean we do sell microsoft stuff and and all. would only be fair if i could get in on some of this.
I think it has to do with where they get the games from. Ex. A lot of mom and pop stores do through distributors which allow them to get around street dates and such. That is how many independent stores were able to sell Halo 2 early w/o getting fined.

"Wal-Mart is an approved and eligible reseller for Microsoft Retail Online Training. You are eligible to participate and complete product training. However, due to Wal-Mart policies, Wal-Mart employees are unable to utilize the Prize Shop or participate in program sweepstakes."

Ah, damn.

I believe that the retail site states that it is perfectly legal to give the games away, and that it is only illegal to sell the games. If what you mean by "get it for you" is literally give it away for free, then no, there is nothing wrong with that. If, however, you are talking about someone paying for the shipping and getting his money back from a fellow cag then yes, it is illegal. It all depends on whether or not you charge.

Damn...I placed an order 5 days ago and it hasn't shipped yet. I used up all points and got 1 of each game. $40 shipping (!) but I figure considering I got trade in fodder (PO games) and Jade Empire + a couple shirts, I made out pretty damn well.

I know a LOT of people ABUSE this site if they are not in retail....MS does not seem to catch too many, although if you do, I believe they keep your money....so it's a gamble.

Microsoft seems to be on top of their retail site. I remember when I first started working at EB 2 and a half years ago, I registered a name but never did anything with it (poor selection of games at high point values)

About a year later I registered again under a different name, and I was flagged when I went to order something. I had to send a copy of one of my paychecks to them to prove my status at the company, and they made me delete one of the names.
