Got Suikoden IV?

I've been ignoring all Suikoden 4 news in a hope to not buy it on the spot... Ever since I found Suikoden 1 for $7 like 9 years ago ive been hooked...

I think the reviews are calling this the worst Suikoden yet, though it's still passably good. I'm gonna count on this dropping to $20 someday, unlike the previous 2.
 
I got it with ArtBook, Guide at EB B&M. Will play it .........next Year :D.Gamestops and EB got a very limited ammounts of Artbooks(3) and Guides(3) around me.


I also Preordered PSP and put $20 down. :roll:

Depends on the review you read. Some prefer it to 3 and others think it will be the end of the series.

Really? I ordered a copy and assumed it would be like the 4 page ones. But it's really going to depend on how many people like the game and feel the need to collect everything suikoden.
 
So far, I like it... nowhere near II, but easily better than the slug's pace that was part III... the character models are way better than the Lego Men of III, but my heart will always pine for a 2D Suikoden game... on the other topic, the reason 1 and 2 will be more regarded as the better two of the series is because they have a connection. Characters from 1 returned older and wiser in part 2. You had intergral characters to return in lead roles (Flik and Viktor), cameos (Gremio), supporting role (Clive owns all), and not so secret roles (McDohl). The sequels lost that charm with nary a real carryover from the previous 2 (except in 4, where if you read the guide you know who it is, there actually IS a character from one of the first two games)...
 
Has anyone here actually played it yet? Would you (preliminary) rate it as a good or bad game? How does it compares to Suikoden 3?

See above post by me... but I'm glad they decided to go back to the age old Suiko tradition of the nameless hero (or for those that want to know, Tir is McDohl's given first name, and Riou is the 2nd hero's given name) and having ONE hero... Hugo, Chris and Geddoe were okay and all as leads but The Flame Champion to me, would have made a better 'nameless hero' (after all, you NAME the damn person)... :wink:

Thanks to EB manager I have it today. He said they got only 3 today.
3 Gamestops I went to had 0 (NONE) shipped to them.
 
Do you think this time we'll able to see a price drop on S4? I plan to cancel my S4 order from Gamestop.com since not many are recieving their Art Book. I ordered yesterday though. =(

Maybe Growlanser is the only that worth the 50 bucks. Suikoden 4....will it be rare?

I can't imagine any worthwhile price drop soon since it's already retailing at $39.99. If anything, it'll be 10 bucks cheaper in about 3 months. Whether that's enough of a drop is up to you I guess. Why bother cancelling the order? Gamestop didn't receive their shipment of the art books due to a printing error I'm assuming. They'll get it to you eventually, even it does take the 2-3 weeks like the Gradius V DVD. Lastly, I can't imagine the game being rare in this day and age given it is a large publisher. It'll be about as rare as the other 3 games, just w/o the inflated resell value that Suiko2 enjoys...

As far as my own opinion on the game, I'm about 2 hours into it and I'm liking it. The VA is good and the battles are smooth and quick (plus I like the teleport run they do). My only dislikes are the Hero runs like a goober and the sailing is looking like it's going to be very tedious. Slow rate of movement + high encounter rate = Blargh...
