gouging the in-store customers

The Cincinnati area has a new chain called Buybacks which is used games and DVDs. This chain, aside rom running stores in the area, also sells their stuff via Amazon's marketplace. Each separate store location has their own amazon store.

I've noticed that their in-store prices of games are anywhere from double to triple the prices they charge via Amazon for most titles. Even factoring in Amazon's $4 shipping price per game for the marketplace, well, also counter-factoring gas expenses to get to their stores, it'd be far cheaper to buy online than to shop their stores locally.

I also have to wonder if it's even legal to charge two separate prices based on the means of sale for the same item.

At the very least, they're going to tell you that the B&M store has overhead expenses that the online store doesn't. In reality, though, alot of it has to do with being more competitive with online pricing since people can comparison shop so much easier. Not illegal at all, but often annoying.
