Mr. Snickers? Is that you?
I wish I hadn't played it.. does that count?
I hear that. I was never too impressed with the GTA games on PS2. I honestly could care less about San Andreas, too.

I've never, EVER played any GTA games. Or Final Fantasy. Or Halo. Or Half-Life. Or Counter-Strike. Or....

Well, you get the idea. I've played more than my share of games, but I've managed to skip a lot of the big name titles...

I've played GTA III awhile back. I think this game was way too over-hyped for me because my friends were like you can go anywhere and do anything! It's AWESOME. Then I played it and realized that yes you can go anywhere but you can't do anything and it pissed me off.
Wait a sec, If no one played GTA3 yet, tell me where you live so I can come there and hit you with a tackhammer. lol
I haven't played it yet....

Gonna eventually pick up the xbox combo if I can find it for $20 or so.

Never touched a GTA game...no PS2 or Xbox at my house, just my handy-dandy happy machine known as the Gamecube :)

(ok, I admit I'm curious to try GTA out, but I think it wouldn't be my kind of game--realistic violence just doesn't feel fun to me, but to each his own)

What games do you play then? Sounds like you have a gamecube though. I dont play PC FPS either.

But yeah I started playing GTA from GTA2. Old school where phone calls for jobs sound like gibberish and you have to play favoritism with each gang.

I also feel that the GTA series is horribly over-hyped, and while I don't wish I hadn't played GTA 3, it just wasn't that great. I felt that the on foot gameplay, if you want to call it that, was very limited and poorly executed. Just my 2 cents, although I feel that it is worth the $4.99.

Preachin to the choir friends. I personally can't stand the GTA games and I wish I could get some money for my copy of GTA 3.

Screw San Andreas, give me Guilty Gear Isuka!!

I live at... wait a minute!!! I'm not going to tell you where I live! You just want to steal all of my quality games.

I played GTA and GTA 2 when they were new. I've also played Vice City, but not III. The three I tried were all crap (just like Halo - I know I'm the only one who thinks so there, I must not be human).

GTA is overhyped, but I understand the hype.

Now, I love the original GTA games on the PSX and PC. Those games rocked!

Never played GTA III, never really wanted to. A friend tried to get me into GTA: VC, but it never really clicked for me.

Laugh all you want :)

GTA III is pretty cool, I played it and beat it but thats about it. Good game for 5 dollars though.

You're not missing anything great. Those titles are all decent, but grossly overrated, especially Half-Life. It's sooooo slow..... just my opinion though.

I also played GTA 3 and beat it. I was kinda surprised when the credits started rolling. I didn't expect the game to end after the chopper fight. It just kind of came to an end all of the sudden.

Over-hyped? Hardly. For a game that single handly changed the face of gaming, I believe it delivered. It hasn't aged well compared to others in the genre (that it itself created), however, it did deliver on it's hype, so did VC, and so will SA.

What's that? You disagree? Well fine, name one game better than either GTA3 or GTA:VC and I'll verbally decimate it :)

GTA III was the single greatest game I played in this generation of consoles. It's actually been $5 at Gamestop for about a month though.

Be sure to get this one in store so you can inspect the disc. Most of the ones I seen at EB & Gamestop were in god awful condition.

^ Because they were played to death because ofhow great they were. :)

I really liked GTA and GTA: VC; I definitely see where the hype comes from. If you enjoy being different, and choose to criticize GTA even when you haven't even played it, that's fine; your loss for not trying one of the greatest games ever.

That's an overly retarded comment. GTA3 (when it came out) was fucking 10 times beyond anything else released on the ps2. A free roaming city, fantastic graphics, little slowdown, "do what you want" design. There was nothing like it. There was no greater feeling than to go to the gun store, load up on grenades and guns, find a building and start playing lee harvey oswald until the FEDERALi's showed up and blew your ass up. Forget the missions, go fuck a prostitute.

i didn't like the ps1 gta games and i liked gta 3 better than vice city. i have gta: san andreas coming in the mail to me from the outpost.com deal a while back.

I haven't played GTA3.. never had a PS2 or a good enough PC around the time it came out. Eventually lost interest.

However, I just bought the double pack for Xbox, and plan on playing it as soon as I get done with Fable and a few other games. :p

I'd say that GTA 3 is great but Vice City took all the fun out of it, they did everything so much better the second time around. I hope they continue this trend with San Andreas

totally agreed. I don't see what so fun about this series at all. I have both GTA 3 and VC, but I only play a lil of each and never play again since they are not my style. Everyone have their own preference of games, what makes you earlier ppl who posted the right to laugh at ppl who haven't played game? maybe they don't like to play it at all... anyways, it's still worth the 5 bucks though...

I have moral and ethical issues with a game where you can have sex to gain health with a hooker and then kill her. There's something wrong in that. I have never, and will never, be playing a GTA game. Plus, my parents would kill me if I did. That would not be good.

That is actually a very, very small and 100% optional part of the game.

Right and I suppose sneaking up and killing people in SC is much more ethical, right?:)

Don't start on that "I don't play GTA because it's a moral drain on society" garbage, because that's the oldest, lamest, and hole-ridden excuse anyone can make.

Its really unfortunate that there are people like you in the world. When you turn 18, please look into joining the Army and volunteer to be on the front lines - you're one we can afford to lose.

Yeah, you don't have to kill hookers in GTA 3. Although I don't know why you wouldn't.

To regis: What would be morally and ethically upsetting is if you solicited a prostitute and killed her in real life.
Furthermore, what is it that your parents would kill you if you did? Solicit a hooker? Kill someone? Or play a video game depicting either of these actions? If you're looking for a game that doesn't include such controversial topics, I have a suggestion for you

I have a suggestion for you

That was great, although previous comments on how my statements were "overly retarded" were not appreciated. All that I said was that the on foot gameplay was not very good in my opinion, and you (panda avatar) did not even address that in your response. I don't care how "pivotal" a game everyone thought this was, but this "great" open ended gameplay is just plain dull. Oooo I get to drive aimlessly before and after I drive up to a little blip on the radar to start another mission, that sounds like fun, and what a revolutionary idea! Or, better yet, I can walk around, not swim, jump like a man with broken legs, and manually aim with no more than 3-4 weapons. When that becomes boring, I can shoot at people and buildings because that doesn't become boring after 5 minutes  .

Don't you think that's a bit harsh? If the guy doesn't want to play the game, he doesn't have to. It's not a big deal.

I always hear that GTA changed the whole gaming industry, but I don't agree that it was as influential as most people think. I always think that it's trying to copy rpg's, where you get this large world to roam around in and then you have lots of npcs to interact with and you're able to accept missions, etc. One thing it did change was the amount of brutal, "realistic" violence that could be included in a game. Oh, and when I heard my friend describe (while laughing at the matter) that you're able to sleep with a hooker and then beat her up was a bit scary. In fighting games, you're expected to beat up people because the premise is always "you're a kung fu expert trying to prove you're #1 against other FIGHTERS." so it never seemed as bad.

I think the final fantasy series and rpgs in general are more influential than the GTA series. I see more and more games where the player has control over how the character grows.

If you think about it, the worlds in GTA aren't that exciting. When I was playing VC it felt like a ghost town to me. The npcs never had anything to say except "watch where your going" and felt like zombies to me. .

^ I hear that. Although the game was impressive when it was released due to its large city environment and the such, I really do not see the point of all the civillians wandering around. Sure it makes the city more convincing, but the npc's should have played a larger role. Another thing that was poorly executed was the cash, it was not too far into the game that I realized that I had an abundance of cash, and then it grew to the point where I didn't even pay attention to the money because I never came close to running out.
