Graphics problem HELP! - bad video card, ram, or mobo?

CAGiversary!
I just finished putting a new machine together this weekend and ran into a graphics glitch that happens after running the computer for ~1 hour or so. Once the machine reboots the problem goes away. I've even had the screen lock on me a couple times. I took a screenshot to show the problem.

The graphics card is an ASUS ATI 4850, the motherboard is a MSI P7N SLI Platinum, and the RAM is OCZ Reaper 2x2Gb . Is this sort of problem caused by a bad graphics card or could it be the motherboard or RAM??

Sounds like somethings overheating. Find ye some kind of PC Temp monitoring software - such as Speed Fan or PC Wizard, and keep and eye on the temps. If something goes too high, should give you a good idea where to start your search.

might be vid card. I got some bad screen distortions recently. I changed vid card and it fixed my problem. Mine had similar symptoms. Reboot and its ok, after awhile it would distort again.

The ATI 4850 is notorious for high temperature during full load AND idle. Make sure the fan on the card is functioning properly, and also make sure your case has excellent airflow.
