Hard to say with the current gen. It's not over yet. I suspect Bioshock Infinite or Skyrim are serious contenders for that title. Also, Gears of War 3 has a good claim to being the best and most refined example of the characteristics of this generation. (Unreal Engine, Online Co-Op, Online Multiplayer, Cover Based combat, a variety of modes and unlocks/progression systems)

If arcade is its own "generation" then Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. That game will be played long past when all the CPS2 boards out there in the world have up and died.

Arcade: X-men the arcade game (I thought it was the shit when it was first released)
