what are some of the best old school gameboy games? im looking to try and get some more older ones before they become even harder to find?

i think the best are:

mario land 2
zelda: links awakening
donkey kong
tetris
kirbys dream land
yoshi

im sure im missing tons, what do you guys think?

i had metroid 2 and kirby when i was a kid and really regret trading them now, especially since metroid is sooo expensive!

I'm very partial to QIX, which you can get for ~$5 from EB preowned, price varies, and coupons can be applied.

Granted it's an old arcade game, but it makes a wonderful translation to the GB. But the list really touches on all the great old GB games.

I agree. While Metroid II is the weakest of the series, it's still a great game. I wish I never sold mine; even if I never play it again, it would have been nice to have a complete set. Another game I really liked was an obscure title called Pyramids of Ra. It's a fun puzzle game with somewhere in the vicinity of 20,000 levels.

Mario Picross
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Kirby's Block Ball
Kirby's Pinball Land
Top Rank Tennis
Mole Mania
Amazing Penguin

Those are all my older gameboy games left which I think are teh best in Gameboy games

is top rank tennis better than just tennis? i love regular tennis, i actully didnt buy virtua tennis for gba because i played the rom and was like "not better than tennis.." ^^

Top Rank Tennis is like Davis Cup Tennis for Genesis. It's not like Mario Tennis, you need to be used to the perspective to enjoy the game, otherwise, it can be frustrating, but yea, it's a great tennis game!

Mario's Picross owned me for quite some time, but my all-time fav would have to be Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. Its Tetris Attack with Pokemon characters and updated features (like SAVE! WOO). There's tons of unlockables and its in color, unlike the original Tetris Attack for GB.
Also, if you can find it, Revenge of the Gator. It is hands down the best pinball game EVAR.

Look for Wario Blast too. Its bomberman vs. Wario and is fun as hell.
I like the Sims for GBA too, but the guy is asking for the old school GB games you know, the ones that are black and white...
hehe.. I think they're just young'ns not old enough to remember the old broccoli-screened handheld. The only Gameboy they know is the newfangled Advance one. 32,000+ colors.. bahh all you need is green and um not green.

It was more of a light puke color, because it seemed yellow also. I was so happy when Nintendo came out with the Pocket.

Definitely Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters. I've finished that 3 times....better than (although similar to) the NES version, IMO.

Vice City on the gameboy rocked!, i can't believed they pulled it off on the Gb.....well because it didn't happen...

the kof games were actually really good fighters for the gb, very similar to the neo pocket. The DBZ rgp, gargoyles quest, dx nes conversions.

It wasn't the *best* or anything, but Burgertime was an amusing little game :)

I still have my clunky ol' green-screen somewhere...
