Anyone recall any cool games they were excited about that never did make it to retail? I remember tons of cool games that never made it to our beloved Dreamcast but I think this one for 32x takes the cake...

I remember virtua hamster! Though the only unreleased game that I actually concern myself with is bonk rpg. It was to be for the pc engine duo (turbo duo) I believe, though it may have just been the pc engine cd (turbo cd). I think only about 10 or 15% of it was complete.

Duke Nukem Forever

Honestly, though, I've never been quite that adept at seeing which games are going to be available and waiting for them, etc.

Final Fantasy VII for "Ultra 64."

The tech demo they showed of the FF6 characters in 3D form, before Square jumped ship to Sony Playstation.

Duke Nukem Forever, new release date: 02/29/06. ;)

Sam & Max: Freelance Police
Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels
Warcraft Adventures
Space Quest VII
Leisure Suit Larry 8

Too many canceled adventure games!
Do you know if they're still planning on releasing it down the road?
Last i heard it wasn't perminantly axed just suspended indefinately. So i suppose there is still a glimmer of hope that it could be released in the future. :crosses fingers:
I thought The Red Star looked promising...
The demo was great for Red Star. B.C. is the other game that I really wanted to play this year.
Dinsoaur Planet N64
Super Mario 64 2
Static Shock GBA (I'm serious)
If I'm not mistaken, Dinsoaur Planet became Star Fox Adventures- it was the same game except it was on the GC and starred Fox instead of the other main character.

That was a tech demo using Silicon Valley technology, nothing related to the U64 I believe. People made an assumption that it was U64 technology since the U64 used Silicon Valley GPU or somehting... somebody posted an article about it here.

As for my picks:
BC
True Fantasy Live Online
LoZ: WW2 (I know it's TP now, but I sure wouldn't mind another WW style game)

The Treasure developed Tiny Toons game that was supposed to come out on the PS2
The home port of the capcom arcade game Willow for the Genesis
True Fantasy Live Online
B.C. on the xbox
That's one of the big reasons I bought an Xbox. I was saddened when it was cancelled.

Also, TFC2. They've only been talkin about it for the last 5 years......come out already.
Warcraft Adventures
Even though it would have been Blizzard's only sub 1 million seller, I was TOTALLY hyped for this game. The preview came out during the era of shareware and "full motion video!" craziness and I was like 14... and totally bored.

In retrospect, what a great idea to can it.. but then again, with WoW being so popular I'm sure anything Warcraft related would sell. Perhaps Blizzard should resurrect this idea in a modern form to flesh out more of the Warcraft storyline? Eh?? eh?????? :)

Oh and my list:

Castlevania: Resurrection (DC)
Halo (for Mac)
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (XB)
Too Human (GC?)
Aliens: Marines (PS2)
Thrill Kill would have been interesting.
I was looking forward to that game so much. I wanted to rip people's arms off and beat them with it. Also, it was going to be the first 4 player fighting game. It turned into that Wu-Tang Clan game.

And Shenmue 3
given the time when it was supposed to come out, THRILL KILL, would've been really fun and interesting.
I used to have a beta copy of Thrill Kill somewhere that my friend gave me but it has long since been lost since I stopped play PSOne... maybe I should look for it again.

Thrill Kill was a really fun game although it was flawed gameplay wise... some of the moves were ultra-violent and it was multiplayer to boot.

If anyone ever wants to play Thrill Kill (I have the tech demo as well) do some google searching. Not to mention, you can play the subsequent release using the Thrill Kill engine called Wu Tang: Shaolin Style. Yeah... stupid... and kinda boring. That's what Thrill Kill would've been like.

Still mad that it didn't come out?

Too Human (GC?)

Its being brought out on the 360 now. The trailer I've seen was pretty amazing looking. I've heard Silicon Knights was dumped as a 2nd party developer, so maybe Microsoft picked them up.

Battlebots (PS2) - Loved the showed and I couldn't wait for the game, but when both were cancelled. I played the GBA version, but I wanted the console version.

Shenmue 2 (US DC) - Cancelled weeks before the game was to be released and moved to the Xbox. I know there's the Euro version, no US version was disappointing.

Black and White (any console) - Rumors and pics came about for this game on the PS1, DC, and PS2 and nothing came about after a few months of nothing. There are handheld versions coming on the PSP and DS, but that may just be a tease, as well.

True Fantasy Live Online (Xbox) - Everything Level 5 touches turns to gold, so I'm saddened about the MMO that got away, at least for now.

Pipo Saru 2001 (Ape Escape 2001) - The first AE PS2 effort that had Spike vacuuming pants off of the monkeys instead of capturing them to wash the pants. I'm always up for more Ape Escape and this sounded like so much fun.

Magi-Nation: Keeper's Quest- (Game Boy Color) I played the first overlooked RPG on the GBC about 5 times. Last I'd heard, Magi-Nation: KQ had been moved to a cell phone game.
Super Mario RPG 2... not the paper mario crap.
Hey man, Paper Mario is damn good.

But Jesus Christ do I want me some more Geno action.

Impossible Mission 2025 for the SNES Nintnedo power had a preview for it and everything

gIftpIa (Gamecube) stateside release......

Fear Effect Inferno - the trailer for this looked AMAZING
New Vectorman - noooooooo! I wanted this so bad!
Planet Harriers - a new 3D sequel to Space Harrier for DC, looked TIGHT
Sonic X-treme - an actual 3D sonic game for Saturn, I guess some guy has a playable beta
All the SNK games that come out as Xbox exclusives in the US - NO ONE can play a fighting game with those massive ass controllers. NO ONE.
N64 DD and all games - Extra dungeons for Zelda 64. New MARIO PAINT. Need I say more?
The Sony add-on for Super Nintendo - what would the gaming industry be like today if this partnership had gone through? *sigh*
Magical Vacation for GBA - it was SUPPOSED to come to the US, but never did. maybe I'll just pick up a copy here and fight my way through the kanji.
