Greatest Games That Never Were
Propeller Arena (DC)
Command & Conquer: Renegade 2 (PC)
Any RPG for the N64 DD
Yeah, Sega should have released Propeller Arena. The game was pretty much done, too bad it didn't come out.

Robotech Crystal Dreams. I was sad when I heard that gametek went bankrupt. I bought my n64 for robotech... :(
What about that daikon or whatever game for the n64 (or was it DD?)?

edit: think it was daishin the giant or something.
That came out in Japan.

Doshin the Giant? It was released for the GameCube, only in Japan.

EDIT: 1 second too late.
That came out in Japan.
I think it came out in Europe too... but I'm not entirely sure.

And here's another one that others have mention: Super Mario RPG 2. Sure Paper Mario was great but that game wasn't as fun as Super Mario RPG.

Super Mario RPG 2 was released as Paper Mario though, and as for Earthbound 64, it's being retooled for the GBA and being released next year sometime as Mother 3 (*gets hopes up again for a hopeful NA release)...
Even though it would have been Blizzard's only sub 1 million seller, I was TOTALLY hyped for this game. The preview came out during the era of shareware and "full motion video!" craziness and I was like 14... and totally bored.

In retrospect, what a great idea to can it.. but then again, with WoW being so popular I'm sure anything Warcraft related would sell. Perhaps Blizzard should resurrect this idea in a modern form to flesh out more of the Warcraft storyline? Eh?? eh?????? :)

Oh and my list:

Castlevania: Resurrection (DC)
Halo (for Mac)
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (XB)
Too Human (GC?)
Aliens: Marines (PS2)
Halo came out for mac.
I'm pretty sure that Ape Escape 2001 is Ape Escape Pumped and Primed in the U.S.
Nope, Ape Escape 2001 is a normal-style AE game while AE P&P is a multiplayer party game. They're not the same.
Halo came out for mac.
i think he meant how it was originally planned to be, like an rpg sort of adventure game i believe

There's this one sweet ass space robot game that was supposed to come out for playstation, called Exodus. There's a preview of it on the Sampler CD volume 4 (or whatever one was out in 1997), I suggest you all watch it. It looked so cool.

Oh, before I forget, does anyone remember that PS2 game, The Lost? I remember reading a preview of it in Game Informer in like April 2001. Then in 2003, they said they were still working on it, and then it was suspended shortly after.
N64 DD and all games - Extra dungeons for Zelda 64. New MARIO PAINT. Need I say more?
We sort of got the Zelda 64 extra dungeons in that Zelda WW preorder. I think it was called Master Quest.

Funny you mention the Mario Paint games for 64 DD. I got a bunch of them (2 or 3?) that I never opened up, including a mouse. My friend imported it for me from some dude in Japan.

B.C.
Starcraft Ghost (I really find it hard to believe this game is going to see the light of day.)
True Fantasy Live Online
Propeller Arena (North American release.)

Most of my pics have been mentioned already, but I was really looking forward to the following:

Half-Life DC (even though you can still get ahold of it)
B.C. (Xbox)
The Lost (Xbox/PS2)
Shenmue 3 (Xbox/360)
True Fantasy Live Online (Xbox)
Sonic Xtreme (Saturn)
Chakan the Forever Man 2 (DC)
Fighting Vipers 2 (DC)
Castlevania: Resurrection (DC)
American McGee's Alice (DC)
American McGee's Oz (Xbox)

Propeller Arena (DC)
Chakan the Foreverman(DC)
True Fantasy Live Online (Xbox)--the cancellation of this made me not get Xbox Live, at the time there was nothing on Xbox Live I wanted to play. And I'm sure I'm not the only person out there who would have liked to have seen something on Xbox Live that wasn't an online FPS or sports game.
Disaster Report 2
Its still coming: http://www.the-magicbox.com/0512/game051229g.shtml

Oh and I remembered this one recently:

CAMPFIRE

I wanna say it was PS2/XBOX bound and it was essentially a horror type game where you play as a murderer and terrorize sexy teens in a cabin or something. Seemed like Cabin Fever the game to me.

Although these games DO exist in Japan, its a TRAVESTY that they were never released in the US:

Tobal 2
Legend of Starfi 1-3 (EXCELLENT games! I can't believe Nintendo didn't localize these!)
Kurururin series (guide a rotating plane (stick) through mazes. UNBELIEVABLY ADDICTING. 2 GBA releases and 1 GC release to my knowledge. All 3 are great!)

There was a Robotech/Macross game that was supposed to launch w/ the N64. What was it called? "Crystal Dreams"?

I bought the N64 largely for that game and was seriously heart broken when they cancelled it. It probably wouldn't have been very good but I'd have loved it regardless since the TV series it is based off on is a highlight of my childhood.

My biggest disappointment of this generation has to be Shenmue III and the rest of the series. I'm playing Shenmue II again and remember how wonderful the game is. I want some closure! :whistle2:(
Fallout 3
It's coming! It was in development at E3 2k4. :D

I could really use another Comix Zone!

Sonic Xtreme, looked like it would have been fun

Super Mario 64 2

Offroad Thunder (came out in the arcades and was supposed to come out for PS2 but
techincally I guess it did come out on Midway Arcade Treasures 3, but I think it was just the arcade port and not the home version that was supposed to come out with extras)

Freak Boy for N64

I've often wondered why there hasn't been a game like this released before. Something like a Friday the 13th where you would play as Jason.

Wasn't Cabin Fever about a flesh eating virus though?

Mystical Ninja for the PS2, my favorite series on the N64 and SNES and they had to go and cancel it... I think japan got a version but it apparently sucked. However, if this series gets a DS title, I am sooo there.

I wanted Fallout 3 from the guys at Interplay who made the first two and went on to form Troika (sp?). The Fallout 3 that we will see will be done by bethesda, the guys behind the Elder Scroll series, so it could be good, but it will certainly be different.

i could have sworn there was a DS Goemon (Mystical Ninja).

I remember seeing some previews right around the time DS was released and you could use the touchscreen for certan manuevers. i wonder what happened to that title?

Super Mario RPG 2. God, I love that game.

It was only a rumor, but I was looking forward to Katamari Damacy DS.
Thrill Kill would have been interesting.
No, it wouldn't have. I played the beta version and the game was fucking terrible. It was kinda violent, but not as ridiculously bad as we were led to believe. The fighting would make you want to kill yourself though out of the sheer awfulness of it.

Snake Plissken's Escape

It was announced like 3 years ago now and it never even got so far to allow one screenshot. I was really looking forward to it after getting a little ad for it with my Escape From New York SE DVD, but it seems like the project just totally fell by the way side. It hasn't officially been cancelled but now that the website for the game has disappeared, I think its more than likely not gonna happen anymore. Seems like such a waste, there's a lot that could be done with the character in a game and now thats not gonna happen :whistle2:(

The Shield

They must have been pretty far into the production because I saw an interview on G4 with Michael Chiklis one time where he was talking about the voice work he had done for it. I don't think its been officially canceled but there is absolutely no news on it anymore.

Mutant League Basketball - Still the only sports series I can stomach, too bad this never got finished.

Splatterhouse 4 - There was talk years ago of a new one. Christ I have been waiting over ten years for it! I know it's going to happen, but when?
