Greatest hits, Platinum hits, Player's Choice games at Best Buy $7.50??

Tendoboy

CAGiversary!
New ads for next week show this................

Best Buy
2 for $25
all Greatest, Hits, Platinum Hits & Player's Choices games ($19.99 ea)

...........use two $5 gamers gift cards and end up paying $7.50 each.....WHO will try this and keep the DEVIL customers alive????

A true hardcore DEVIL customer will do it........I will! I understand the driving things though, not a biggy for me.
Wont hurt to try....just present the coupons w/ the games- if the computer will do it and the clerk does'nt care it may work out. I managed to get the buy 2 get 1 free price match from Toys R Us this past fall and used 2 coupons w/ these games and walked out w/ them for $9.99 each!

They may pull the "it doesnt qualify below 19.99 thing".....someone will likely get it.....depends on the clerk.
They may pull the "it doesnt qualify below 19.99 thing"
Wouldn't they just pull the "only one GGC per purchase" thing?

I have'nt had them pull that on me yet.......I've use many of these on one ticket before....even in different stores...

If they let you use multiples of the same coupon couldn't you jsut get any game you wanted for free, or a few pennies?
They may pull the "it doesnt qualify below 19.99 thing"
they will pull that and why wouldn't they...if i was a cashier at BB, i'd be pretty pissed off at somebody who is obviously in hopes of me being stupid...a lot of their cashiers are dumb, granted, but thats no reason to try to scam them....i hope you guys are really happy when they just do away with the coupon altogether....that'll teach best buy, won't it? no, what it will do is ruin one of the best guaranteed deals that us CAGs have going for us....

that said, one cashier tried to tell me that i could only use the new GGCs on XBOX software/accessories because the coupon is green and the xbox is associated with green.......maybe i could've gotten away with telling her that the coupon was actually a $100 bill, because well...they're both green...

Devilman, devilman /Rob Zombie

Anyway, I wouldn't count on two of them working, but one would be feasable. Because when it first rings up, it'll be for $20, right? Isn't the discount only applied when they bring up the total, AFTER you input the GGC? If so, then it should be pretty easy to get two for $20, since I doubt many cashiers would care enough about it to go back and re-scan in everything and refuse to let you use the GGC the second time they scan it in. Although this is assuming that the GGC works in conjunction with the sale, when they fixed the multiple-item exploit a few weeks ago they may have also locked out the GGC in combination with other deals.

I don't really care about using a GGC but do you think they'll allow Atari Anthology to be used for this deal? I want to get that and Twisted Metal Black Online.

i think TRU has the better deal if you ask me

any game $19.99 and under is on sale for 2 for $30....but if you spend $50, you receive a $10 GC...so if you buy 4 games for $60, you'll get a $10 GC, which is kind of the same as only paying $50 for the for games....but you have to shop there again (thats the catch)...the advantage is that it applies to any game under $20

Another way to look at it, if you wanted to buy a 5th $20 game in the future, it would be 5 for $70 or $14 a game. Of course, you're not stuck with only the choice of PH, GH, or PCh games.

that rules... i don't think they'll let you use 2 of them.. possibly one but not 2... and thats if there isn't system locks (which there probably is.. they hate the devils man)

The GGC can't be combined with other offers, so it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to use it with the 2 for $25 deal. You'd be very lucky to get away with using one let alone two.

What Trakan said. I could maybe see getting away with using one, though I doubt that would even work since neither game you are picking up would be $19.99 or over.

But it couldn't hurt to try it, the worst that will happen is they will say 'Sorry you can't use that coupon with this offer.' And if you get lucky and end up with a cashier who doesn't give a crap / is feeling generous / doesn't read the details of the coupon for some reason you might actually pull it off.

I've tried to use coupons on top of PMs 3 or 4 times. Worked one time and got shot down the other 2 or 3. So things will work sometimes and not others.

I tried to use a GGC with a 2 for $30 offer and it didn't work in the computer. This was back when GGCs were good for more than one item. I was able to get $5 off my highest-rpiced item, and $5 off my non-2-for-$30 items, but the price of the 2 for $30 items didn't change. You can try to talk a cashier into overriding this if you want to, but it's clearly against the restrictions printed on the coupon.

Is the TRU 2 for $30 on all systems? I thought it was just PS2.

I did get them to do a GGC/PM combo, though. That was actually really easy. I just brought the item straight to Customer Service and asked, "If I do a price match, can I also use a coupon?" and they said absolutely.

2 for $25 is a great deal any way you slice it -I'll pickup some GGCs anyway (I'm out!) and try them. If they don't work that's okay 'cause it's still a great deal. I did manager to get two of the Tom Clancy Trilogy Platinum Hits the last time BB had the 2 for $30 deal. I was picking up my camera from the Geek Squad (it had been sent out for warranty repair) and so I brought the games over. She did notice that the ad stated that the Platinum Hits had to be $19.99 or less, but she checked with a supervisor and she said it was fine! I think the only reason they let it slide is because they dug me -unfortuantely neither was anywhere even near attractive...

Hmm, now I'm wondering if I ought to run to BB and pickup the Platinum Hits now and then get a price adjustment when the sale starts -just so I make sure to get the ones I want...

Geez lousie guys - maybe I haven't been around the block for a while, so my judgement might be impaired, but isn't this a fantastic price byt itself? And you don't have to resort to using GGC's.

-EDIT-

An next week implies that it starts Monday, 3/14, right?

It sounds like a good deal on paper, but my local Best Buy has very slim pickings when it comes to these budget-priced games.

Even if I bothered to go, I doubt I'll find anything worth buying.

The GGC may not work but there is a 10% off coupon mailed out that's good from 3/11 till 3/14.

SO, that would make the deal $22.50 for two games.

Now, if one of you would be so kind to scan and post the coupon we can get this party started...

do you have any further details or this tru sale like when it starts or anything else?

That made no sense, and for the love of god, please don't be a dumbass and start quoting rap songs. Shitty rap songs by shitty rappers, at that.

The 2 for 25 is without a doubt a good deal , i will make sure i pick up a few games, i am not even thinking about the GGC trick, since there is no doubt in my mind that it's not going to work, this starts on monday 14th right >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ?

I agree. THis is the better deal and the better selection. Best Buy will more likey have 20 copies of Crash Banidicot Platium Hit for the Xbox then any really decent game.
