Well I had a lot of fun with Mortal Kombat so far. The story mode is pretty much the best of any fighting game as far as I can tell and the challenges are also nice. Probably not your game if you're looking for multiplayer but I think it really shines in Singleplayer and is well worth the discounted price.
I have an AMD Athlon II X4 620 ( so kinda shitty CPU) and GTX 560 and it runs great on FullHD (don't know if it's all Highest settings but it looks good) and it worked out of the box with my PS3 Fightstick (SFxT V.S.)

I think I'll move it into the top three of games to play now. I think I might solo the game first and maybe play around on co-op after with someone. Sooner rather than later will perfect timing since I love playing Resident Evil, Dead Space, Fallout, and the Elder Scrolls type of darker-themed adventure/action games in the Fall. Especially with the evenings getting dark sooner, the leaves changing, and the temperatures lowering to that cool but comfortable range. The Fall is definitely my favorite season for many reasons.It's well worth the price.. just don't add it to the back of your backlog
You're better off playing the co-op while GFWL is still running.. but you've got nearly a year to do that (unless Microsoft changes the shutdown date).
I believe Resident Evil 4 was the last one I played, but many many years ago ...and on the GameCube nonetheless. I think it was around March or April of 2005 in fact. Seems like ages ago. From what I can remember I liked it, even if it was on the GC.

I played it first on the GC, then Wii, and then PS3. I preferred the Wii version, it had the best controls and didn't have
ed up sound like the PS3 version did (no idea if that got patched). Only thing it was kinda lacking was in graphics.. but it had widescreen support, which the GC version didn't have.stonecold111

Tempted to get LP1 & 2 but GFWL is kinda making the deal less desirable for LP2. Game is basically multiplayer, even when you play singleplayer (you play with bots in singleplayer, which I doubt is much fun), so it'd definitely suck whenever GFWL is shut down. Also, I wish GMG would lower the MSRP for LP2. Steam's MSRP is $19.99..
It's not only Steam, Gamersgate, Gamefly etc etc everyone else has the $19.99 retail so either GMG didn't get with the program when the retail was lowered or they bumped up the retail a bit on the sly to counter the 75% off plus the coupon.
Either way, the crappy higher retail prices + GFWL and its highly questionable future make this one a pass for me.
It's a shame too because they've been on my wishlist for ages.
I would think that with the 3rd game out that Capcom would want to keep the franchise strong and patch GFWL out of the old games but no word on that yet and I have a feeling if, and that's a big if, they do it it won't be until the last minute when they absolutely have to.

Yeah I double checked and noticed that and edited that part out but still Gamefly has it for $14.99 retail so it's cheaper elsewhere.
The bot in Lost Planet 2 is quite good. First time I played it, I didnt notice that my teammates are bots. They even steal some of your kills.

And now, here's LP2 on sale - ugh.
But, bleh @ who knows if Capcom will convert it over to Steamworks.
Knowing Capcom, they'll probably sell a re-release LP2 with extra content in a Lost Planet 2: Ultra Colonies Edition and make that Steamworks only - kinda like they'll do w/ Ultra SF4 next year.

What Win OS you running RE4 on?
Like any OLD game - did you select the game to...
Run it in Combat Mode for an older OS the game actually supports (see game's system requirements)
Run Game As Admin
AND check box to Turn off Desktop Comp & Visual Themes (i.e. all that Aero Crap)?
This is usually first thing I do, if I have an older game and try to run it on something newer than Win XP - i.e. this solved my Sacred 1: Gold + Sacred 2: Gold problems.
EDIT:
Granted I don't have RE4 installed here on Win 7 64-bit, but - I figured if you ain't tried this stuff, might be worth a shot.

W7-64. I'm going through the checks right now. Usually, I'll play a game mod free at first, just to get it running properly. It's just that I couldn't stand the laziness that this RE4 port is, so I mod'd it first. For now I've stripped the text mod and am just running the texture replacement and so far, so good.

I played 40+ hours on the PS3 with just the bots in LP2. They are smart a large portion of the time and I had no heartache because of them
Also: Don't bother with Re4 on PC even with mods it's complete and utter shit
If it wasn't for the Clearing Code Cache bug in Dolphin right now, i'd tell you to just simply emulate the GCN or Wii version in Dolphin.
If you can deal with 720p only with no AA, then the 360 version is recommended.
