Ugh, we went through 2 music bonuses for that? That's 6 repeats so far, although 1 was in an IR mixer bundle that no one bought.

It's been in at least 2 bundles. Bundle in a Box, and GamesRage. Much better values than buying it alone for $1 so I'd suggest passing on it. Maybe wait for it to be rebundled again.
It used to have awesome prices on cards. I idled it awhile for those, but didn't actually play it. It looked like a rather complex strategic war game.

About cards. I'll wait and do what I did this summer sale: buy enough at lowest prices a week or so before the big event (winter sale) to craft a lot to get event cards and sell those ASAP. Besides that, cards value raises during the event.

I'm not in a hurry, I'm playing new vegas

Edit: yeah, I know

Hmm, thoughts on the Celtic bundle.

Erutan: Motoki posted her cover of The Dragonborn Comes earlier. Probably the lightest, airy, apropos addition to a Celtic bundle. I like it.

Overall, great collection, and well worth $1.
Yeah, that was actually me. I realize all us old folk look the same to you, but. . . .

Lili: Good but short. Motoki played it through and enjoyed it. Gorgeous visuals.

100% Orange Juice: Weeaboo board game? Why not.

Fall Weiss: Yet another historical military strategy game, and this one has zero tutorials or instructions and has been in other bundles.

Little Big Adventure: Well regarded old adventure game, should get Steam keys at some point.

99 Spirits & DLC: Great art, story, visuals, but extremely repetitive gameplay that pretty much kills the whole thing. Worth playing a bit, but not finishing.

Bloodrayne: Sexy vampire chick killing shit and drinking blood. It's 50 cents and it's a GOG key, why not.

Isomer: Early access Dwarf Fortress/XCOM thingy, looks really interesting and has good reviews. Only been in a Shitty Royale.

The Book of Legends: No. (Fun fact, there's also a different game called "Book of Legends" on Steam, different than "THE Book of Legends". Stupid.)

Who are you?

I've posted this before, but

[customspoiler=longwinded TLDRy stuff about Lili cut and pasted from my Steam review]
Lili is a short, casual, visually exceptional 3D adventure game that's heavy on atmosphere and charm but light on story and variety.

Pros:
  • Visuals are gorgeous. It does not look at all like a mobile port and has some of the best visuals I've come across in an indie game.
  • Fully 3D world that you can wander around in at your own pace.
  • Nice atmosphere. The island is populated with lots of whimsical characters and the game oozes charm.
  • Non-violent, suitable for children old enough to have a fair degree of reading comprehension but also accessible for adults. (I realize this may be a con for some who are looking for a more meaty sort of game)
  • Unique. It's a bit different than pretty much everything else out there.
Cons:
  • Not the greatest value considering the price to length ratio. I like short games but $20 for a few hours play feels a bit steep to me.
  • Game play is rather repetitive. You do the same few things for the entire game, namely collect items and play the same sort of quicktime mini game in lieu of actual battles. This is somewhat forgivable given the very short length of the game however.
  • The 4 zones are small and there's not much interaction with the environment.
  • Story is rather thin and there is no intro; you just get plopped in.
  • Only partial controller support. The developer states full controller support is in the works. At present you can run around the world, collect items, check your map and talk to npcs with the controller but going into menus and playing the mini game battles requires keyboard and mouse.
  • Full controller support has now been added. Sort of. They basically did a virtual mouse pointer that the left analog stick controls but it feels very shoehorned in as an afterthought rather than controls designed around a controller. Control directions in the UI still don't reference the controller when you are using it either.
Neutral:
  • RPG elements are quite lite. That's not a con. The game is what it is, but calling the game an "RPG hybrid" while not technically incorrect, may give an inaccurate impression. There's some very minor leveling and skill progression but don't expect hitpoints, skill trees and such.
  • No voice acting. The game is fine without it but I feel it would have added that extra bit to draw you in even more. Also it would allow for younger children to play. As non-violent games are somewhat rare, it seems especially suited for young children but the amount of reading creates a bit of an age barrier.
  • Feels like a missed opportunity in some ways. The visuals and atmosphere are excellent and the game well done as is, but part of me feels like it could have been so much more with more variety and length.
  • A couple of aspects still feel like a game created around touch input, namely the mini game where you pull flowers which is a major part of the game. Also the level up menus with the big wide buttons to hit and just the general sort of largeness of the UI. These do work just fine with a mouse though.
  • The battle / mini games on the keyboard and mouse have a totally different feel than on the controller. The former has a more tactile almost Angry Birds type of feel with pulling while the latter feels more like DDR. I'm not sure which I like better. They're very different.
I enjoyed Lili for what it was, a unique, short, charming and visually stunning adventure game but part of me wished it to be more than it was, that it were much longer, the quests more complex, that Lili had companions, there were more choices etc. The game does end leaving future adventures for Lili a possibility so perhaps a sequel could be based around the PC platform from the beginning this time and more complex. It's a fun possibility to contemplate.

This isn't to say that Lili is incomplete. It's not, it's just a short and casual game. Sometimes it's nice to have those as a break or when you don't want to get into huge commitment with a new game.

The $20 price point I feel is a bit high for the short length of the game but if this sort of game appeals to you I'd recommend it when it goes on a sale. (Edit: Or in a bundle for $1, of course)

I thought it looked really bad when I watched Carl play it.. and keep in mind it's very early in development. By the time the game is good, it'll be bundled again.

I watched a couple gameplays and still can't see the game's "magic"

my wife likes adventure games (mostly point and click) so I think I'll grab Lili for her
It's not really of the Euro point and click vein of adventure games though. It plays quite a bit different than those. I guess sort of imagine a really Disneyfied version of young Lara Croft if she went around picking flowers and helping happy talking mailboxes and such.

I guess I'm not really selling it here, huh?

Don't know why I can't find pictures of Lara picking talking mailb.... oh wait

I played Little Big Adventure a lot many years ago. It is hard as heck to control and you change your moods to do different actions such as sneaking, jumping, running, anger for fighting....etc... I'm almost sure it's aged horribly. I don't even remember it having much of a story as I don't remember the character talking. He showed character from the different emotions. I wouldn't consider it a true adventure game, more of an action/adventure game, though you do have to collect things and do other things to move to other places sometimes. Overall if you're OK with having to mess with the controls and getting used to than you may enjoy it. If I remember correctly it had beautiful music and decent graphics for the time. Also you could solve puzzles in multiple ways. I usually skipped out on fighting cause of the bad controls though.

100% Orange Juice is a decent (if completely incomprehensible at first) board game, if you have people to play with. I couldn't recommend it for solo play.

99 Spirits is a cool idea, but is unbelievably repetitive. Like Idiot said, it's worth checking out but I wouldn't bother pushing through to the end.

Those are the only two I've played.

those 2 are the only 2 oddballs that i can't wrap my head around. So what is 99 Spirits? some sort of Card Game like Magic the Gathering Japanese edition?

Basically you "attack" mysterious spirits to get hints as to what type of object they are (all enemies are poltergeist style possessed items), then you type in to guess what the spirit is to identify it. Once it's identified you attack it and kill it like normal.

There are little extra abilities you get as you go along... but the "battles" are basically the same, over and over and over again. Then you know most of the item names and it's just unbelievably repetitive. I really wanted to like it, but it's too monotonous.

Has anyone been able to get 99 Spirits running in Japanese?

I set the language to Japanese in Properties, but the game's still in English.  I've tried setting my Windows region settings and Steam interface language to Japanese as well, but no luck.  The store listing says it has full (including interface) Japanese support, and one of the user reviews mentions that the entire Japanese version is included, so there must be a way, somehow...

Find Tsukumogami in your Steam library maybe? That's the original version that's added upon activation as well I think.

Johnny 5 shot his wad with offering Derprayne and the Herpmunity Choices of: Lili: Child of Derp and 100% Herp Juice...nothing left but music nao....

I keep trying to buy BABM but $4 for four games (Lili, OJ, Fall, Isomer) and one DLC seems like too much.  I already have Ballpoint Universe so I can't boost the bundle value with the bonuses either.  I hate the pricing structure on this one.   :nottalking:

https://groupees.com/remute2 looking very much like my great aunt Louise, who I lived with for the majority of my teenage years. She never quite accepted my fascination with miniature clown figurines, and I feel like that created a rift between us that we were never able to mend. She found it "silly" and encouraged me to get involved with other things boys my age enjoyed, like sports and girls, but she could never understand the love in my heart for those tiny, pale little smiling faces, bright red noses, whimsical outfits, like tiny captured moments of happiness, small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. I didn't cry at her funeral, but I've never felt such tearing, biting regret over how things ended between us, and the fact that I never really had the chance to say goodbye.
Finished that for you.

FYI this was the first "Remute" bundle.. so my expectations are low for the 2nd.
Only one game looks even slightly appealing (Megarace). If it's only a buck I may go in for the music, but even then, the music in the video was boring as fuck, so if it's just a bunch of stuff like that, no thanks.

Man, I've just gotten so used to bundle games being Steam that I almost forget to look anymore. I almost fell for the nostalgia of Mega Race. Thanks for the head-check.

I don't know if I trust Groupees or myself less to maintain a copy of DRM-Free games for me to download sometime in the future, so this is an easy pass for me.

No idea who that is, but I'll assume that his "humorist" pieces were similar to that or something.

I'm really clever, guys, c'mon. :(

Anyone buying Rootbeer Float drinker simulator for a Steam key might be disappointed. It seems that Valve finally woke up and realized people are putting bullshit games up on Greenlight because they passed on the Grass Simulator the last two go rounds even though it was near the top spot.
