Donate more option will be available on your downloads page, so you can buy the bundle for $1 without thinking and eventually give them more money after trying the games.

Oh yes. I forgot about that. Thank-you and purchased for one crisp e-dollar. :)

As for the $5 incentive level, support has said that once the "mystery" item releases, you can pay an extra $4 then and still get it. There's no need to pay it all now before you know what it is.

Also, I fired up Laxius Force last night. Extremely disappointed with it. I use the RPG Maker VX Ace program, and Laxius looks like a really bad RPG Maker game (it uses Ruby scripting, which is the biggest giveaway). It has mouse cursor support, which is nice, but besides that, the spriting is very badly done in many places, and the level design is shoddy at best (i.e. We don't want the character to go this way... so we'll put a bunch of random pots there).

The balance is also really messed up. For the first "tutorial" battle, your attacks do hundreds, if not thousands of damage to your enemies, killing them in one hit, while your enemies can only do a few damage to you. This would make sense if you were supposed to be some godly warrior, but one of your characters is a "weak" skeleton (as character dialogue explains at one point). Then I went a certain direction, found a horde of zombies (and the game told me "Save before you fight them!"), and upon attacking them, there are about 10 of them in one battle, and you immediately die. If you're not supposed to go that way, it's understandable, but the balance is still completely whack. I ran into some lamias as well, and they all died with one hit. It's clear that the developer didn't take the time to properly balance the statistics.

The art style... It looks hand drawn, which normally isn't a bad thing, but it looks like they hopped on deviantART and hired the cheapest artist they could find. It's also inconsistent. The art for your character portraits shown during battle looks pretty good, while the enemies look like daytime children's cartoons. Not a good feel on the art style.

I also immediately noticed a typo here or there. "Gear" is mentioned a few times in the tutorial, and by your characters, and there a point in the tutorial where it says "Make sure you have the best gears equipped". Not the worst typo ever, but it just adds to the shoddy feel of the game.

Anyways, for a $1 packed with the other games, I still love this bundle, but I was really disappointed by Laxius. :(

I usually buy a lot of these indie bundles (partial to the Indie Royale ones myself), but this bundle is the worst I've ever seen since the idea started in the first place.

Revelations 2012 has no place in any bundle at all and Zero Gear is a multiplayer only game that hasn't had an online community for years! Metal Drift's another multi-player only game with barely anyone playing from what I've read, Guns of Icarus has a 47 Metacritic score, and just look at the post above me for a review of Laxius Force. The trailer for this bundle looks like they just dropped a few clips of the games into a pre-built After Effects project and called it a day. You can barely see any footage of the games (probably for the best, considering their quality).

Yikes. Stay away.

It's not a great bundle, but there a few other points. Zero Gear has its issues, but it's single player too (like ModNation Racers or Mario Kart is). Metal Drift is actually said to be pretty good, but has a tiny multiplayer crowd too. Guns of Icarus is actually a fun little game from what I've played of it, and it runs amazingly on older computers. I didn't expect to be able to run it on my ancient piece of crap Dell, and it fired up and ran perfectly. The graphics aren't bad either. It seems like it may get very repetitive, but it's fun running around the airship, manning turrets and blowing planes out of the sky. The turret mechanics are really nice; heavy sound effects, strong recoil, etc. You also can upgrade your ship as you progress, so I bought a cannon, but I haven't tried it yet.

Realize that a lot of people are suddenly getting Zero Gear and Metal Drift though, especially on CAG, so it shouldn't take much effort to put together some games with your friends. And hell, for $1 a bundle, you can buy copies for your friends too!

Revelations 2012, well... Yeah. I still wanted it though.

Laxius Force has been the only big disappointment so far. I feel I should give it more of a chance, but the writing in it immediately sounds really contrived and weak. It's not worth the time.

It should also be noted that the bundle comes with a lot of music. Groupees gives out some nice music, but the genre isn't everyone's style.

In the end, it's a lot of stuff for a measly $1. Definitely worth the price, at least in my opinion.

This actually convinced me to buy the bundle, just for Revelations 2012.
It seems like a great game to play with 3 friends just for laughs.

Hehe well your close, its a RPG maker XP game. I think I might have to get the bundle just for Revelations 2012.. Anyone want to play Revelations 2012? lol

I had a feeling that was the case... I haven't messed with XP; I never liked the look of it. Did XP have cursor support?

I'm just amazed that such a badly made game created on a program that anyone can use got enough recognition to make its way to a bundle. There are so many great RPG Maker games out there for free, yet this one got into a bundle.

I guess I shouldn't bag on it so much, seeing as I only played it for 15 minutes, but it just really surprises me.
Even for a $1, this bundle is crap. I just refuse to give any money to creators of Revelations 2012 for that pile
Lol I actually wanted it because it was a steaming pile.
New Steam game has been added for hitting Goal #3: Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World

Hope the mystery $5+ incentive game is a good one.
They have apparently removed Kaptain Brawe from the bundle. Pretty bizarre that they would add a new game, and then yank it from the bundle within 24 hours.

They've added a different game in it's place, Battlemass. Which is apparently available via a Desura key as well as a DRM free copy.

The Kaptain Brawe keys were added back to our download pages, but yeah.. replacing the goal was pretty weird.

EDIT: I'm not sure how this affects future purchasers, not sure if you'd get the Kaptain Brawe key if you buy it now.

Apparently the developer put Kaptain Brawe on sale somewhere else and forced Groupees to pull it from the bundle. Douchebag move on their part.

If you got a key for it, it should activate in Steam (mine did). If you didn't get a key, you're screwed.
Hmm, I'm not seeing a Desura key for Battlemass, just a PC/Mac download.
The Desura key is coming tomorrow they said.

My key for Kaptain Brawe worked as well.
Just purchased the bundle and the Kaptain key worked as well
When you say, you "just purchased the bundle", do you mean within the past couple of hours? Or do you mean over the past couple of days?

I'm curious to know if they are still giving out keys for Kaptain Brawe. I had assumed that it was no longer possible to get that game if you haven't bought yet (as I haven't), but I suppose that it's possible that they were given a certain allotment of keys and still have a few left.

I purchased 15 minutes ago and the key was valid on steam (my profile also shows the BattleMass key, (though I haven't tried to cash it yet)

Based on your post, I decided to finally pull the trigger for this bundle. And it turns out that you were right. I got a key for Kaptain Brawe as well. I can only assume that they still have some keys in reserve.

Thanks for the head's up.

Awesome! You're welcome. That's the game that also convinced me to bite on the bundle

Some info from a chat with Jonny:

Faults aside, you've gotta love Groupees for how down-to-earth they are.

I played Zero Gear during a free weekend (shortly after its release) and I though it was terrible. So I bought this bundle primarily to give it another try and, well, I still think it's terrible. A dollar well spent!

There's a 99.99999% chance it's Dwarfs?!

Just kidding, but seriously, it's looking very likely that it's Dwarfs?! They had a reddit contest and all of the hints point toward it.

http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/ytd1q/bemine4_bundle_giveaway/

(When they say review score in the hints, they don't necessarily mean the official metacritic score)

New little bundle is up if anyone is interested.

http://groupees.com/taproot

I used to like Taproot's stuff. They're kind of that 90s garage band-y grunge-screamo-alternative that was all over the place back then, but they aren't bad. It's three albums + more (if goals are hit) for a buck, and each dollar is a meal for the hungry.

Nice little bundle for a good cause.

I actually want Dwarfs. This bundle is turning out better than expected.

I'm new to the whole Steam thing. I figured I would get in on this for a buck to try things out. My PC isn't great, but hopefully it works OK for basic games. Intel dual core with 2gb of ram.

Just plop in an affordable graphics card that your power supply can handle and you should be fine. My old rig was a standard P4 Dell with a 9800 GT and I played everything.

Basic games, sure. Add a GPU and play everything at reduced detail.

Wel, it *is* Dwarfs!? after all (Steam key).

I'll give them $5 (not that I'll ever get around to playing it) mostly because they are so clueless: who in their right mind would leave the game that people would most want out of the bundle and the one that would bring in the most profits two thirds of the way into the sale? They should have had this up right at the beginning.

And if you like chiptune music, this is another great music bundle:

FantomenK 42 Song Ultimate Collection

I replaced the board and processor back in Dec 2010. Here is the board I have http://www.msi.com/product/mb/G41TM-E43.html I don't recall the processor exactly. I just know it's a intel dual core. I have 2gb of DDR2. My stock power supply says it has 250watts max output. I'm sure I would need to change that? What would be a good, but decent priced video card that I can use?
Now I have a copy of Dwarfs I don't need that I spent an additional 4 dollars to obtain. :(

Anyone wanna buy it for $2?
PMd I'm not going to spend the extra 4 just to get it and either going to buy it from someone cheapr or going to wait for it to go on sale on steam for 75% off.

I just bought within the last 10 minutes or so. Kaptain Brawe's on my download page, but there's no key listed, sadly. Ah well. Dwarfs!? and other odds and ends for 5 bucks isn't bad at all.

Vaguely related note, I may bite on that Taproot bundle because it DOESN'T include their newest album... which is them attempting a concept album and ruining it with Speak and Spell.

Well I am actually interested in Dwarfs, but it can be had for $2.50 during a major sale. If there was a DRM-free copy in addition to the steam key, I'd probably bite. But for $4, I'll have to think about it. I guess it would mean a little bit more to charity, but what are we talking about really? An extra $0.80 (I believe they give 20% to charity)?
Gamespot are giving away Be Mine 4 bundles! Get one before they run out, all you need is a gamespot account.

http://www.gamespot.com/event/codes/bemine4_giveaway/
Getting a 404 error. Guess they've run out of codes. Unless the gift bundles include Dwarfs, it's no big deal that I missed it. Was just gonna grab a second copy for my secondary account.

EDIT: Now the page is back up with a note that the promo is over.
