Oh, I know, just saying it doesn't offend me all that much. I understand that times were different and it was a more commonly expressed thing in that time period.

Then again, I'm very white, and I'm not sure there's a whole lot of racism against Huns in the media.

Just bought the whole bundle and picked up The Testament of Sherlock Holmes from Amazon for $5 as well. Total haul: $9.50, not bad :)
Well of course not. His racism was much clearer in his personal life, but it is pretty clear in most of his writings too. Sometimes it's symbolic (beware of outsiders and different people), but other times it was pretty outright. Anything modern though, from games to movies, focuses more on the creatures and supernatural elements.

And it wasn't necessarily a case of that's just how things were. There's plenty of non-racist literature from that era and before to be found.
That's weird. I've read a lot of Lovecraft and I've never really seen any themes of racism. Maybe xenophobia but when you're writing about a loose pantheon of godlike aliens whose mere mention can drive men insane and whose motives and activities are profoundly inscrutable, that seems somewhat justified.
Dang. Now I want that game. Even if he was a horrible racist which comes out quite a bit in some of his stories there's still something I like about his stories.
It's the racism you like.

You racist.

;)

It's one of those things that's easy to overlook if not for how absurdly racist he was in his personal life. Once you have that information things sort of slide into place in the writing, but it isn't necessarily obvious otherwise.

Bought the whole Sherlock series just because I haven't seen them that cheap before. Groupee has become my favorite bundle provider lately.

Good set for those who still don't have Still Life or Syberia, but if you don't have every Meridian4 game you could possibly be interested in at this point, then you're not really even trying. Guess I'll wait for the next one. . . .

I already own most of those games on my main account. But if they're selling the games for $0.40 a piece again (or 3 for $1) like they did with the last bundle, I just might re-buy some of those games for my secondary account.

Hoarding games on your main account is pas. Hoarding games on your alternate account is the hot new trend.

I almost spent $1.24 on Chains. lol Meridian, fuck you too.

Still Life 2: 5/10

Trapped Dead: 3

Wasteland Angel:

Nikopol: 7

PAM: Bundle sites should stop offering these online multiplayer games that are totally dead. Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall this game having an anemic single-player experience that includes a "single race" option. That's it.

All I need here is Chrome Specforce. For some reason, I never bought in to BAB3, yet there are at least 3-4 games I would/should have picked up looking back at that list now. I have no idea anymore why I passed.

Had to edit to fix my terrible grammar, even though it's already quoted.

Trust me, unless you're just collecting Steam games, you're not missing much.

I'm still missing Still Life, so I think I'll go ahead and pick up Still Life 1 & 2.  Own most of it, nothing else catches my eye by name-only.  I'll poke at the vids when it goes live... too apathetic to Bing them

PAM is like a cart racer on rails.  I felt let down by it (when I played it on a Free Weekend last year) -- they refused to refund me my time.

Wasteland Angel is okay.  Not worth the $10 it release at but for a bundle game its rather decent.  (I don't think I was too much in the mood for it when I played it.)

I gave it a one because it didn't crash on me. This is barely on par with the quality of free 3d web games on cereal company websites. I got it at a discount on Steam, only 7.00 or so, it's not even worth 0.99¢
seriously, there's amazing games for iOS that put this to shame at a fraction of the price!
Metacritic user review for WA hahaha^^

I didn't think Wasteland Angel was even a professionally developed game when I played it. This is some DigiPen-dunce type shit.

Is still life 2 the end of the story, or just another cliffhanger?
Still Life 2 is more or less a fully new story, but there are flashback segments that answer the cliffhanger ending questions of Still Life 1.

It honestly isn't very good, and I thought Still Life 1 was fantastic.

As a DigiPen graduate, I take a little offense to that. But I know the kinds of games you are talking about.

I was just satirizing the ones with no talent, the ones who probably dropped out due to all the yay and whatnot.

And that's nothing to be ashamed about; I don't live far from Miami and that shit is harder to avoid than it is to buy.

If you want the full bundle.. it's a penny cheaper to buy the games in sets of 3. Really weird how Groupees calculated it.

This is the price for each game depending on how many you add to your bundle..

1. 40 cents
2. 40 cents
3. 20 cents
4. 34 cents
5. 33 cents
6. 33 cents
7. 34 cents
8. 33 cents
9. 34 cents
10. 33 cents
11. 33 cents
12. 34 cents

I've spent way too much time on this, but I wonder who decided on this calculation.. srsly.

Indeed you have too much time on your hands. A penny? Oh my god, you should email Groupees and let them know they have a huge error in their ordering system!

Or, who cares?

Some people do, it comes up quite frequently in the steam thread when it's cheaper to buy games individually than in the bundles they put them in

If these had GOG keys or DRM-free downloads from Groupees instead of only Steam keys, I'd buy a few, but as it is, I already have all of the non-crappy ones on Steam.

We're talking one penny, though, not a significant amount.

You seem mad.
Not really. I just think that bundle addiction/obsession and the associated penny pinching are starting to become amusing.

For many of us, a dollar or two or five or even more aren't significant amounts of money either. Yet, we always want to get the cheapest deal possible, no matter how small the amount is - it's basically like a game (or possibly a sickness in the head, given the amount of time we waste doing this). "Cheap Ass Gamer" after all...

Also, to be fair, Spoder's original post wasn't about saving a penny, it was about Groupees' pricing not being the most logical.

I understand your point that a penny isn't much to get worked up over. But I think that what Spoder was getting at is that these Build-A-Bundles usually have a pricing structure in place which rewards you for buying more than 3 games in the bundle. Usually the games end up being $0.05 to $0.15 cheaper a piece if you select several games.

It seems kinda odd that they wouldn't do that here. Not only is it not cheaper to buy the whole bundle, but it's actually a penny more expensive.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch by Seamoss.

The penny is trivial. I don't see it as "more expensive". I see the penny difference as an inconsequential result of rounding.

Yet it seems 3 games for $1, 6 for $2, 9 for $3, or 12 for $4 is not cheap enough for some people. ;)

So are any of these actually worth getting? I'm looking at Chains, but would have to find two more games to buy the bundle. Chrome + whatever the name is, looks alright, kinda like a (much) less pretty Crysis, but I can't say I'm super impressed with this bundle :whistle2:k

Guess I missed or traded away some of the games because I was missing 7 from this bundle. I have lucked out on a lot bundles lately and been able to up my indie backlog.

If you enjoy point-and-click adventures, both Syberia games are highly rated. Still Life 1 also got good reviews, with its sequel getting a more mixed reception. I have them all on my backlog, but I'm actually looking forward to playing them when I get a chance. If you enjoy tactical RTS games (like the Commandos series, or even something like Men of War), then you might like the Robin Hood game... it also was well received by reviewers.

I'm planning on picking up Chains, Chrome/Specforce, and Post Apocalyptic Mayhem (it has a horrible score on Metacritic, but gamers seem to rate it much higher, meaning it's probably not a good game but it's enjoyable for what it is). I'm happy that Pacific Storm: Allies is included as a bonus, too, since I have the first one.

lol I didn't expect to see someone get upset over me questioning why Groupees used that calculation. Usually, the prices are consistent when you add more games, it'll either keep getting lower in price for the more games you add, or remain the same.. this is the first time I've noticed where it keeps going up and down, making it cost slightly more than buying in sets. Obviously I didn't post that so someone could save a penny, although it IS a better deal to split the purchases into sets to get multiple bonus games.

Hehe not upset (cute when people try to claim this, though). Just pointing out the absurdity of the complaint.

PAM really is bad. It's like a cart racer on rails. That said, for this price it's not impossible that you'll get you money's worth.

You know for someone who proclaims no interest in pennies, you've made no less than four posts about it. There's no need to be so uptight about it 'round these parts, go ahead and embrace your inner cheapass.
