Looks like the soundtrack bundle is worth a Washington just for Horn, but does anyone know what kind of music the rest of it is? I think I have Darkout and Radical Roach from one of the earlier Groupees on Desura, but I haven't played them.
You can sample all the music on the bundle page. Just click on the album you want to preview and a list of the songs should come up. Then just hit the play button and you should get a 30 second sample of each song.

I'm listening to the OneUp's cover for the Mario Kart soundtrack... not impressed sadly.  I actually like most of their other works, but this one is not that great.

Edit:  After listening to the oneUp a second time, it's actually pretty good... the only track I had moderate distaste for was Bowser's castle... everything else still lives up to the style that they did covers for all their other games.  for $1, I'd have to recommend it.

New Adventure & RPG Groupees bundle coming up tonight:

http://groupees.com/arpg

Mostly repeats though...
Most of them aren't repeats for me. I skipped Vox on IGS because I knew it was coming to Groupees (was a recent addition to their greenlight collection page at the time), and I skipped the IR with They Breathe in it.. I only have 2 of the games from this bundle (Aztaka and Time Gentlemen Please/Ben There Dan That), which is pretty good compared to the new IR lol.

I say this half-jokingly, but here's the CAG definition of a great vs awful bundle (and I'm not just talking about Groupees):

"I already own 80% of the games in the bundle" - it sux!

"I only own 20% of the games in the bundle" - it rox!

The quality of the games seems to matter less than one would think.

As the arbiter of good taste I will make the final decisions:

Vox - Crappier version of Cube World

Crappy games from Gun Monkey devs - Crap

They Breathe - Crappy Aquaria ripoff

Aztaka - Crap

Reef Shot - Crap

Pickers - Where's Mike and Frank and Danielle?

Rune Classic - YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAH

When the CAG saw the breadth of his indie collection he wept, for there were no more bundles left to conquer.

so just to be clear, you've played all of these and aren't just basing your opinion off trailers and others ^_~

FWIW, I played through and beat Pickers in one sitting and had a blast. I am a big fan of the American Pickers TV show so I may be slightly biased, but I found the haggling/selling aspect to be a unique addition to the hidden object genre.

I also have no idea why they'd classify it as an adventure or RPG. It's a hidden object game with some additional features.

Hmmm, might break the cardinal rule and double dip for Pickers on Steam.  Awesome game.  Have it on Amazon, but only paid 2.99 for it so another .75 isn't crazy... is it?

It's all relative.  MSRP for Pickers on Steam is $9.99 and they sell the disc version at Target for a ridiculous $19.99, so $2.99 or $1.99 casual games are usually around the sweet spot, though I prefer $1 per casual game when they put out those $20  collections with $20 games.

Aztaka is terrible. Terrible animation, terrible platforming mechanics, terrible combat, terrible bugs, terrible terrible terrible.

I was super excited to try it out when I got it (both on IGS and in a MacApps bundle), and I couldn't force myself to play it longer than an hour or two. It's just awful. The level art is passable, while the characters and enemies look like they were plucked from Baldur's Gate (or some equally old isometric RPG with "3D" characters), blown up, and forced onto a 2D plane. It just doesn't work.

The story is boring as hell too, and I enjoy anything related to mythology. It's just a total flop on every level.

tl;dr, If you don't have Aztaka for some reason, DON'T BUY IT NOW.

From playing the demo. I agree. I likened it to crappy '90s shareware.

I'm never buying a bundle right as the bundle goes live again. Next time I'll wait at least 30 minutes. Groupees bugged out and didn't give me the bundle after paying via paypal (payment showed "completed" on my paypal account), so I had to talk to Shifty via their support tab to get it added.

spoder premature bundleator...

Went ahead and picked up Pickers, Rune, Vox, and Been There Dan That~. Thanks for the post! Now I just need that Disciples III key to make my week complete. mwahaha.

Totally agreed!

I'm going to partially disagree with you on Aztaka. I've only played the demo, but it was enough to make me get the game from a previous bundle (and now it sits on my endless backlog, of course). From playing the demo, I can't say that you're wrong about combat -- it was a repetitive click-fest -- but I rather enjoyed the part of the story that I played. I liked the art, too. I wouldn't call it a great game by any means, but if you can put up with some mediocre combat, it might be enjoyable for some. I suggest trying out the demo.

never heard of it, but looking at the screenshots I'm liking the look of things (anime = I'll play it ^_~). It is an RPG carried by bigfish though, which seems a recipe for disaster.
Reviews I looked up were largely positive. It's Desura, and was apparently bundled in a previous Groupees but it was the worst selling bundle they ever had, so they wanted to give the game a second chance with extra exposure.

It's not on desura. Or are you saying it'll be added to Desura soon?

I plead ignorance, just going off the chat on groupees:

It sounded to me like last time it was DRM free but this time they would have Desura keys. If the game isn't on Desura, then I have no clue what Shifty was talking about

Hm, that makes it sound like it should be added to Desura soon.

Surely Be Mine 4 wasn't their worst selling bundle ever. Worst Be Mine seems likely--this was the Revelations 2012 bundle with a really crummy set of BTA games. Maybe even worst of any that wasn't a publisher-specific game bundle or non-game bundle.

Picked up Pickers and Rune Classic. That's all that looked interesting for now, although I may go back and look again if they do a 1-for-$0.75 period.

fucking hell, I am so tired of Groupees and their relationship with Aldorlea. Aldorlea is a blight upon RPG Maker made games. They churn their shit out as fast as possible (look at all of their games, all made more or less in the past 4 years), then charge exorbitant prices for them while they call themselves "RPG and Adventure Specialists".

Their games are seriously nothing special. They're wrought with typos, ugly, badly drawn, inconsistent character art (some games have better art, but the Laxius Force series is awful), weak stories, unbalanced combat (go this way and you'll kill everything with one hit, go this way and you'll die with one hit), laughable level design (hey, let's stop you from going down this hallway by putting 10 pots in a row!), and so many other embarrassingly bad aspects, I'm not going to keep going into it.

They also don't always have their stuff on Desura, and even in the past when they've been asked about doing so, their answers sound like English isn't their first language (that bodes well for the storywriting in their games...) and their answers are kinda all over the place.

All in all, shitty company, shitty games, and they're Groupees' fucking go-to developer when they need a shitty bonus thrown in. Whee.

The story just bored me. It suffered from that "you are the chosen one" theme that everyone and their mother throws in games, and as I delved further into it, it didn't get any better. If the gameplay was better, I probably wouldn't have minded so much, but as the gameplay was horrendous, all I could look to was the story for the game's redemption, and it didn't do it for me. It could have been worse, but yeah.

And I didn't mind the art so much (levels and whatnot), but the character graphics were horrible and the animation was even worse. I seem to recall an ugly UI too, and broken to boot (couldn't drag the spirit energy things into that flask thing in the UI, it got stuck on the bottom of the UI and couldn't be moved).
