They just lowered the threshold number for the second bonus this morning so I'm sure they're anticipating that they may or may not reach the 3rd by the time this one ends. Because it's mostly DRM-free with a couple of GOG keys, it sold pretty poorly.
Agreed and it doesn't help that Adventure games as a whole now are a very niche genre. Being DRM-free is not as popular with Steam being available and GOG isn't as popular with the masses.

They'd be smart to restore all their downloads from prior bundles if they want people to buy DRM Free from them. I think someone mentioned some of their old links are still not working.
Yeah, I was trying to download an the DRM-free version of a game to try and fix a bug with the Steam version, but all I got was a broken folder (or nothing at all). Not that I have any plans to buy DRM-free stuff from them anyway, but this is just BS.

Which bundle? I haven't found any broken links since their site redesign.

Ubersoldier 2 has a broken download link. The download link for Cryostasis was completely removed because the publisher lost the rights to it. There are a few others, but I can't remember.

That's really lame that a DRM-free DL link got removed over losing publishing rights..

Shouldn't it be okay because you purchased it? I thought that kind of stuff only affected future sales of a game.

It was removed after the server crash. I'm guessing Groupees couldn't get the files from the publisher so they removed the download link.

Makes sense. They couldn't magically reappear though? You know, maybe by someone who had a copy downloaded already giving it to them or getting a copy from someone with an eyepatch? :p

I didn't get Ubersoldier 2 as the bundle was before my time. I didn't recall that Cryostasis was DRM-free alongside the steam key.

Yeah. it was. Originally it was only a Steam key, but I contacted Groupees and they had the DRM-free version added.. that's mostly why I remember it. I had a MysterD moment.

So, in the Groupees Microids Build A Bundle....

What are the worthwhile games there?

Sure - I have Still Life 1 + 2 (Steam); Post Mortem (Retail); and Syberia 1 + 2 (Steam); and Paradise (from Retail) ...

...but I ain't got any of the games in the Groupees Microids bundle.

When it was running
Which means I completely skipped the existence of the DRM-free download when putting together my database. This does appear to be good evidence that they didn't have backups for the lost downloads and instead had to get replacements from the publishers.

Yeah, I think someone said that both the server they were hosting their downloads, AND the server that they had backups on crashed.. but I'm not sure how true that is.

Well, if they were at the same location and something physically happened to them that would be quite possible. Or they had the not-uncommon scenario of not realizing the backups were bad until they needed to access them.

Or virtualized and the machine hosting virtual machines broke.
(and it didn't have backups).

It serious fuclup anyway.

Or maybe they should do backups?
That too. No one at Groupees had a copy downloaded on their personal computer?
I was talking to a Steam friend last night about this, and I think that it's pathetic that Groupees didn't. My current Groupees folder (with all the old restored non-game downloads and most of the new ones) is only around 80GB, so I'd be surprised if they'd have needed more than 50GB to back up that stuff back when the failure happened.

The Microids Adventure Bundle has a one game minimum now.

One game for 50c will get you 4 when you factor in the 3 bonuses.

I might pick up Red Johnson, getting the sequel and two other games for fitty cents.

Space Ranger is the upcoming Spotlight.

Or they're incompetent nincompoops.

Now which is most likely...

There's another spotlight up for a terrible-looking game called Vintage Year.
And just so you know what you're getting into, here's the description:

When a band of criminals known as the “Skull Faction” takes over a wine cellar holding an expensive wine aged through many generations, it seems apparent there is no hope for its recovery. However as mysterious as is this faction of bandits, there are other followers involved that are willing to combat the danger that remains shrouded within the darkness. If recovered safely into the hands of a trustworthy adventurer, the wine would prove to be of a truly vintage year. Gunsling and slice through a challenging set of randomly generated levels, filled with traps, enemies, weapons, and items to help you along the way.

So, apparently saving vintage wine is worth dying over? Had no idea.

The game looks bad, but it probably wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for that annoying flashlight mechanic they decided to put in. You do that sort of thing in a game that requires stealth/patience, not a crazy over-the-top shooter with a billion enemies.

Honestly I think the description is the best part of the game. Why not a game about fighting over good wine? But then I saw the screencaps and realized it was generiterrible.

I'm glad I saw the game footage before the description so I didn't end up disappointed. :p

The description alone just makes it sound like a less awesome version of Spelunky, which I guess is okay, but not when it's executed like this. I guess I've also never understood the obsession with wine some people have.

I'd say not checking backups before they are needed would qualify one as a nincompoop.

Yeah. I liked the description. Then I watched the promo vid.

I have an odd request/favour to ask.

Does anyone with a spare Steam key for Millennium: A New Hope from BaB Greenlight wanna give me theirs in advance while I wait for Gala to give me the one they owe me from Indie Gala January? Basically, we'd just be swapping Steam keys for the same game, just that you may have to wait a bit to get your key from me as Gala is being annoyingly slow about it.

And while I'm asking, does anyone have a spare Slip key from Clash 1 they're selling at a semi-reasonable price?

I should have a review up soon enough if I can force myself through it, but yes, it's bad.
I can attest to this. It's fuck ing horrible. It's ugly, it's generic, it's terrible and despite having graphics that are worse looking than minecraft and absolutely no kind of cutscenes or story it somehow demands 1.5 GBs of my hard drive. I have games that look 1000 times better and only take up 100 meg.

The "It's a secret.." achievement for Slip isn't too bad, there's a community guide for it that shows you how to get it on the first level.

I see that Mr Bree was part of BAGB 4 and is a Steam special right now as a Greenlit game.  Steam key to come or am I late to the game?

As promised here's my Slip review: http://steamcommunity.com/id/mrninjasquirrel/recommended/291070

In short, please don't play this game.
Ugg Slip....i'm not sure I can even get the rewards i'm going to check the community guide for it's a secret but this game is giving me a headache and I usually like platformers that are brutal and unforgiving such as Super Meat Boy and Bree+ (good short game). I couldn't even get passed the 3rd stage boss with 2 of those stupid bullet shooters.....freakin' hard to keep switching and find a good place since I always seem to touch a bullet from the opposing color. Plus is it just me or are the jumps just very floaty I never seem to feel very confident there.....ugg I wont be playing this one much.

Edit: BTW whose idea was it to put in these bullet hell shooter bosses at the end of levels? I actually so-so like the platforming parts but the bosses make it just about unplayable for me.
