Dollar days is bugged currently, doesn't give you the full bundle.. but they said they fixed it and it'll take 10-15 minutes to correct itself.

Of course it is. Ah, well, at least I only went in at the dollar tier.

If anybody's thinking of giving away a copy of Longest Journey or Fly'n, though, those are my biggest regrets from the upper tier. ;)
 
Of course they extend it and do dollar days. I just bought in an hour before the cutoff last night...

Ever since they started doing the dollar days I've been waiting till the last minute in case they do it again. Guess I should just be more cautious about buying anything at all from Groupees now. At least with Gala it's almost always a given that they will do a happy hour unless it's one of those smaller weekly bundles that already start out at reasonable prices.

Same here. Seemed likely there wouldn't be any Dollar Days, but minutes after buying the bundle was extended.

Groupees has taken a note from the Indie Gala book. Destroy the hope of a HH or DD, watch users buy at the final moments, then extend. Rinse and repeat. It's a smart way to squeeze an extra dollar out of people who will be getting the BTA for cheap from early buyers.

It's also a good way to piss the late-buyers off. The question is whether or not it will impact their sales....maybe, but I doubt it.

Their sales went up a lot in the last day before the bundle got extended, probably because of all of the people that were originally holding off for Dollar Days. All this will do is make people hold off until the very last minute rather than the last few hours.

I know I definitely won't be buying anymore bundles until the last 5 or 10 minutes (unless the bundle is $1 with 1 tier to begin with). Copying Indie Gala is NOT a good thing.

Meh, as I'd probably pay whoever got them in mass $2, I only lose out on $2.  That said, never buying one until the last day again.  Also, in general, Groupees quality is getting shaky.  For me it's usually one or two good games and the rest anime/hipster/2derp4u nonsense.

Yea, but I'm guessing Groupees doesn't care because they expect people will cave in and go for the dollar days deals anyway (which we will).

It's sleazy, but it works. They're essentially saying FU to the holdouts and late buyers, or laughing at them like this:

I disagree that its a smart business decision because it help facilitates buyer's remorse for early buyers and encourages people to hold off buying early (or at all) so that the rewards in the bundles get unlocked later. Also, it pretty obvious that people would more likely get into group buys (like happy hour with Indie gala) and pay the host a little more than the $1 to get the whole bundle. That extra money is not going to Groupees but to the host of bundle. (Nothing wrong with that but if I was Manager of Groupee I would consider that money as profits potentially lost.)

Furthermore, I don't have a problem with paying $4 for this particular bundle. It's a good bundle with Miasmata. My problem is the knowing the fact that I could've gotten the bundle for $3 cheaper and saved a bit of money.

At this point with Groupee bundle, its either paying ONLY $1 or nothing. With my currently Steam backlog, I've gotten the point where I don't need to +1 in my Steam library and know that I don't lose anything if I don't spend any money.

I agree with that. I meant primarily it's smart in the short term for them boosting their sales, but it can definitely hurt them long term if enough people are put off by the tactics.

 
Groupees bundles are already going down pretty hard in my book. They just keep pooping them out and they keep getting more and more mediocre. This Be Mine 13 was the first pretty decent one in a while with a decent array of at least OK games. The only bundles I'm usually getting are the Every Monday and Greenlight bundles from Indiegala. Cheap, lots of newer interesting looking indie games and quality is usually good.

Groupees cut back a bit, make the bundles better, if you're doing dollar days do it before extending (like the Sometimes Thursday bundle) and generally get off your high horse.

True, I also want to add that giving customers the feeling of buyer's remorse should be the last thing any company wants their products to be associated with.

I much rather pay a little more to FEEL HAPPY about my purchasing decision than to feel some sort of resentment for "buying too early."

i think that the Be Mine bundles are like the numbered Humble Bundles and numbered Indie Gala bundles. those are the "premiere" bundles where they put all the good games in and everything else they put in poop side bundles. i'll usually buy all the Be Mine and numbered bundles but I'll look more closely at the other bundles.

I'm only helping out the PayPal-less CAGs. It's more or less helping out consumers with different purchasing options. I'm barely encroaching on the dollar day$ bundle market as the majority of people use PayPal anyway so I doubt I'll get very many PMs.

 
Color me confused. What exactly is "dollar days" and why does everyone hate Groupees for it? I am pretty new to Steam and humble bundle sites so I don't get it. Tried searching the internet for it and got nothing.

Dollars Days is a promo Groupees does where if you buy/bought a bundle for $4, you can buy/gift FULL bundles that include all of the games for $1.

Everyone's upset about it because Groupees BM13 had a specific end date, and no "dollar days" had been offered yet, so people ended up buying the bundle for $4 before it ended. And on that same day, Groupees decided to extend the end date and offer the full bundle for $1. People got screwed out of $3.

Wow they are out galaing gala. This is a new low and hypocritical since Jonny went out of his way to slam Gala for that same sort of shenanigans. The thing with them though is at least they are consistent. I'm not sure if Poopees is greedy and desperate enough to do this every time yet.

I also wonder if this is a Jonny Hipster Oprah Chai thing or a Shifty Euro Slug thing. I kind of suspect the latter. We know how those Europeans are, dear.

Question did the clock actually ever hit 0 and the bundle ever actually end even if for a brief moment? Because if not guess I will be staring at the clock staying up til midnight next time.

You think you guys have it bad? I bought a SECOND bundle hours before the bundle "ended".

I actually talked to "Eric" about getting a partial refund or something, but Jonny is sleeping and he doesn't have to balls to do anything without asking daddy, even though he acted like it shouldn't be a problem, but we'll see.

 
Is Eric Shifty or is he someone else? More and more Jonny has been shifting responsibility to Shifty and I'm not sure I like it.
