Since borderland's undercutting me for Be Mine 13, I'll be matching his price ($1.09) and delivering bundles near instantly (30 minutes max usually). I'll sell BM13 bundles until the bundle ends.

I'm selling gift bundles for $1.08 and will deliver it before you even know you want it..Call me!

Hey Spoder, can you start selling Gala's? Humbles, too, maybe? :whee:

Don't let him beat you, Idiot!!
wat, Humbles??

I don't think I'd host Indie Gala's since the price is inconsistent sometimes.. but hosting more Groupees dollar days bundles is tempting.

i will be doing all this, as well as giving out a complementary blowjob with every bm13 bundle purchase

lol no groupees just being stupid again. at least they finally fixed all of the links to the older products though. that only took what, 5 or 6 months

I'm still waiting for Ubersoldier 2 to come back...i'll probably just end up getting it in the Steam sale...instead of waiting forever for it.

If you really want it, I can upload it for you (just you, since you bought it). I managed to keep the file from Groupees. I didn't manage to get the original Stalin Subway 2 though, if there was ever a non-corrupted file for it.

Anyone have an opinion on Spate? It's the only game in the $4 tier I don't have (other than TLJ on steam, but I have it on GOG) and I'm debating if I should pick up a dollar days from someone just for that. I was one of the suckers that bought the $1 tier last night right before the extension, as I definitely didn't think Spate and a second copy of TLJ were worth $3

For that matter, if I already bought the $1 tier, can I even buy a second copy from someone of the full $4 tier? I guess I could create a second account, but that's messy.

I'm halfway through (looks like it'll end up being a 75-90 minute game). I'm digging the art style and music, but the gameplay and level design are just so bland and uninspired up to this point. I was expecting a more colorful version of Limbo with puzzles along the way but it's been a pure platformer so far, and not even a challenging or satisfying one at that. The story has potential, so that's a plus. Since I'm already halfway through I might as well stick with it to the end.

So yeah, unless it kicks into gear the rest of the way, it'll have been a disappointment. It nails the atmosphere but everything underneath is quite boring.

It's crap.
Or I could've just went with that.

I'll add to this a bit: remember when LIMBO came out and was mega popular? There were essentially two crowds: the people who played it, (and usually enjoyed it thoroughly), and the people who didn't play, but claimed to hate it due to what they imagined it to be, (pretentious and devoid of any "real" gameplay).

That is Spate in a nutshell. Unless it gets cards at some point, you can ignore it.

They should make a wiki page of all the shit Groupees sold and now isn't working or available to download.
That's what I don't buy DRM free shit from them. Well that and I just don't want DRM free shit.

But then I get jealous of the 3 people who bought those games like Egyptian-whatever-generic-casual-game and get Steam keys for them later.

Welp, this was Eric's reply to my ticket (after he apparently got word from Jonny?):

"Hello,

I'm sorry you missed out on Dollar Days. Unfortunately, the promotion for $1 purchases only works for transactions done after it started. It's never set in stone whether we will have a Dollar Days promotion and this time, they decided to do it. I apologize for the inconvenience but we are not adjusting purchases prior to dollar days.

Regards,
Eric"

Right, because Groupees has no idea if they're going to do a promotion on their own bundle. There's no way they wait until the last minute to squeeze out more full price purchases.

Honestly, just really uncool and a slap in the face to customers. I've bought too many bundles to count from them, and they can't even give me a partial refund on my second bundle. I may be done with Groupees just over the principle of the matter and how they treat their customers at this point. With how most of their bundles are nowadays, I wouldn't be missing much.

But who is going to stop spoder from controlling the group buy? You can't stop, you have a duty.

Weren't you just arguing FOR dollar days and how great they were and how you didn't mind them because you could sell bundles and get yours for cheaper? Why would you expect them to refund you for a bundle you bought at $4?

I said the difference between buying a full priced bundle and a dollar days bundle wasn't much different, but that was when everyone sold them for $1.50 to other CAGs. All of the sudden the new standard is $1.10.

And really, I didn't think dollar days was ever so close to the end of a bundle. Has it been like this before? I specifically waited until there were a few hours left, just making sure, before buying a second bundle. I don't recall it being like that before (though I may have just not been paying attention). It really smacks of Groupees just trying to squeeze in as many more full price bundle purchases as possible and making things cloudy on purpose. It's greedy.

Either way, I've always thought it's a pretty douchey practice on Groupees part. Like Spoder said before, selling gift bundles is kinda pointless now. I guess we've flipped sides on that. I'm not gonna compete with 5 other bundle resellers hoping to sell 30 bundles just to make my money back (it would honestly have to be 30).

Well, I'm just glad you see the light now. If there was any sort of predictability/reliability with these things it wouldn't be awful. IG isn't ideal, but you can sort of count on HH for them for most bundles so people can wait and split it.

With these sort of shenanigans (and I think you are right, first time they extended and then did Dollar Days), what happens is most people panic and buy it last minute, so even if they do dollar days there are a lot less people left who would have bought it.

Yeah, I never thought it was cool. I hate this shady business that is clearly just in place to get more money. But back when everyone would buy and sell the dollar days bundles for $1.50 (which is still a nice deal on $4 bundles like this), it just wasn't a big deal from a CAG's perspective. You could get around the shady nonsense and make your money back by helping out your fellow CAGs, which was nice. At $1.10, yikes.

I'm a bit more "hurt" because Groupees has been my favorite bundler for a long time. I like the variety, I like the music, I like the employees (I've spoken with Jonny a number of times), and I just liked their bundles and setup. So to see them going down this bullshit road, and going about it even shadier than Gala? It's just really disappointing, because I thought more of them. It's also really ridiculous hearing the constant rehearsed "It's never set in stone if we're doing dollar days or not" line. I wonder why it isn't...

Well now a lot of people will treat them exactly like IndieGala and wait for Dollar Days before buying, which means they'll be losing money. If there's no Dollar Day then there'll be some gilbying, which means they'll be losing money.

Dollar Days was a short-sighted plan in my eyes.

It is, and they're trying to do the "not set in stone" thing so that people will second guess things and panic and buy at full prices anyways. But they just set a precedent that's going to stay with them, and it's not going to be a positive thing.

In any case, I sent some harsh but detailed complaints about the system back to Eric, told him to forward it to Jonny, and he did and said Jonny should be replying to it. I doubt it will make any difference, but I'd still like to see what the guy has to say.

EDIT: Jonny didn't reply, but the CEO Thomas Brooke did and asked what my concerns were. I gave him a novel. Wonder what he'll say.
