Whodathunk this would be a polarizing bundle. I'm sure some stats geek out there has run the numbers on Greenlight bundles. McDroid got a key a few days ago and that puts the first IR Debut bundle at 3/8 for keys after a year and a half. I'd rather spend the $1.50 on something that has Steam keys now. Or wait for the non-shitty games to show up in another bundle and then get them from Tremor.

How stupid do you have to be to expect something that's on greenlight actually be good? In the entire history of greenlight there's been at best 3 or 4 games released that worth anything. These bundles are for cards and +1s and I have no clue why anyone wouldn't be able to grasp that by now.

Unlike you and Mooby, most of us only hate a few things instead of everything, so we can occasionally have slightly higher expectations of the Greenlight system. While they're largely delusional in nature, we can still have them.

I chose not to preorder due to the fact that with most of these build-a-bundles, I usually only find two or three titles I'm even interested in.  Which proved right this time as I only got three titles from this bundle, saving something like seven cents.  I suppose I should have preordered since it's usually the one's I'm not interested in and don't buy that end up getting steamlit and actually put on the store.

As far as cards, I must be one of the only ones here who actually likes crafting badges.  But I only craft the first level badges and sell any dupe cards I may have.  I just can't get excited about making a measly 10 cents off cards, particularly when I throw away more than that a day in unreturned water bottles.

In my experience, the BAGBs are only good for 1-3 things that look worthwhile. I might get this one if there's a one-game minimum at some point but otherwise this is a really easy skip.

If you're only making $0.07-12 per sale, you're doing it wrong. Don't feel bad because I'm doing it wrong too, but you are. Most of the cardz traders here farm games for cardz by idling or using applications that "trick" Steam into thinking that you're running the game and the savvier ones try to idle and sell their cardz either before something appears in a bundle or immediately after it turns up in a bundle for maximum profit. Once a game's been in one or two bundles, the card values drop to around $0.10 per card. However, some people, as you've probably seen from recent posts, have done quite well by gaming the system (I say this without any moral judgment intended--if Valve actually cared about this, they would change it, and they don't because they make their biggest fees from people who do a LOT of cardz transactions).

I personally don't like the idea of racking up a lot of Steam hours on games I haven't actually played or may never play, which is why some people have Steam wallets with hundreds of dollars in them and I just have $1.96. Some people would say that's stupid and they're entitled to that opinion. I just figured I'd let you know that the way you do it isn't really the only way that it works. Incidentally, I typically only craft badges for games I really like and sell cardz to pay for that activity for games I didn't care for.

Get with the times, Mooby goes nuts over "Rogue-like" and "Pixel Art" indie games.

I take back what I said. Groupees is clearly run by a bunch of braindead of morons.
And those morons also got many people to pre-order a bundle blind for cheaper equaling more sales overall as most of us CAGs would see the bundle and say man wait for 1 game minimum because there is a lot of bad looking games in there.

On that note, I wonder when we'll actually get to use our coin from that last bundle.

damn it, gilby'ed the farting ogre game

also want in on agentghost's scheme to fleece he general public by offers of shitty games for cheap.

the farting orge game is very .. crappy. I think we have a successor for Bad Rats. too bad, since i remember when it was first announced, the trailer made me laugh.

If anyone bought the Remute bundle a game in it called Bik was greenlit a couple of days ago. Hopefully it won't be long before it's released on Steam.

I'm pretty sure I'll buy Steampunk 3 since they've always had cool comic bonuses, but I'm gonna need more info on Tuesday 7 before making a decision on that one.

$1 is a better pricepoint for preorders.  Assuming it's not total repeats, there's probably at least a game or two with cards in each bundle.  Should be better value than the Greenlight, although the Steampunk one may not be heavily game-focused and the weekly one may be ass.

They need to at least give you a rough idea of what you're getting. I need some specifics, even if they aren't willing to disclose titles.

Games, Music, Comics. EBooks.... wtf. That's a lot of stuff that isn't games.

The Steampunk bundles are less appealing than the greenlight ones for me, so it's a crapshoot. It'll probably have a lot of comics, but most of the games will be repeats or it won't have many games at all.

The Steampunk ones have always had a lot of value IMHO for Steampunk fans. A lot of books, comics, music and a few games as well. They're the better of the $1 dollar minimum bundles with lots of stuff.....at least better than the community bundles which are OK. The last few Tuesday bundles have been horrible so I wont take any risk on it. I mean it could be farting orcs.....

Agreed. I'd much rather wager $1 on this one because it's less likely that it will be total garbage.

So is it safe to say that the steampunk bundle will mostly be non-game items?
Yes, and most of the games will likely be repeats.

It'll probably have good value, but the problem is all of the other Steampunk bundles were $1 for the full thing. Seems like they're increasing the price and adding reserves.. if true it's like artificially adding "savings" to the reserves.

Here are the previous bundles for reference:

They have my $2, but there's a good chance that in 24 hours they'd have completed shredded all the goodwill they've built up in my eyes.

As I see it right now, it's only a minimal risk doing it this way. The worst case is that I'm -$1 on each bundle.

If I don't preorder and they add something I really want, it's entirely possible that with their new pricing scheme that I'd be -$2+ to get the games I did want. (Given the way that build a bundles now have $1 inclusions).

I'm hoping for the best, but I have this feeling that Groupees have just moved themselves into the "I know they're there, I just don't care." Tier, just like Indie Royale. (At which point, I don't bother unless they drop something clearly stupidly good.. which is a rarity)

That would be sad. Groupees is my favorite bundler at this point.

OK, in for a buck on each bundle.

This is a lot less hassle than Dollar Days.
That's how I see it. I'd almost certainly grab the Tuesday from someone's dollar days if it had dollar days, paying a bit more than a dollar. Even if it is iffy, I'd still probably toss a dollar at it.
