Actually, I think I started it when I asked if I got a moran medal for my 100th bundle a few pages ago.  But I like how groupees bundles is like a reverse pissing contest.

See, Motoki? This is good for us. We're cleansing ourselves of the Groupees stench. One by one we are reborn.

Between freeing ourselves from the Groupees shackles and spurning the Humble Monthly bundles, this is the dawn of a new era of CAG!

Yeah, MysterD doesn't buy the bundles and then posts about wanting all of the games in them in the trading thread. Toasters aren't that bright.

Because it's been like a whole day since we last heard from them, Poopees is getting ready to drop another load of kids off at the pool.

Luckily, Syntax Error has just taken to writing his thoughts about it.

More art piece than game, Deus Ex Machina 2 guides through the stages of life set to a soundtrack that dominates the game. Conception and birth through adolescence into adulthood, old age and death are all represented in the form of "games" that are essentially music videos in which you play a minor role in collecting or avoiding things. Perhaps you are seeking out positive messages as a child or dodging craters and bombs as a soldier or collecting kisses -- but essentially each level is the same thing. Throughout, you have a rating for "Degree of Real Identity" which is affected by how well you play level (or sometimes just seems to tick down regardless) but it's misleading to keep using the terms "game" and "play". These are games in name only. The controls are sparse and sluggish and the effects seem frustratingly random at times. Of course all roads lead to the grave regardless -- I had enough Identity to carry me through to the ending scenes but I don't know if it's possible to actually lose the game.

Deus Ex Machina 2 starts out strong in that the music helps pull you in and the overall complete weirdness of the experience makes you go along for the ride. By the end though, it has largely worn out its welcome. Perhaps that's a metaphor for life or perhaps it's just poor game design but either way it's hard to recommend it. If you ever found yourself with a free copy, it's worth it to play the first half which has more manic weirdness than the increasingly plodding second half. But I couldn't, in good faith, tell anyone to spend money on the experience.
And if that doesn't convince you, there's always this

Nothing but the best from our Poopees. But you better act soon once it goes live because it's a limited edition!

*Edit: And it's live. 2 dolla for Deus Ex Machina 1 (old ass game, DRM free, no Steam), Deus Ex Machina 2 (ass game; see above. Steam key, no cardz, been as cheap as $1.75 before), some PDF book about Deus Ex Machina, and mp3s for both games.

Only 3,000 copies! Limited!!

They both sound like really weird and probably frustrating gaming experiences, so I admit I'm intrigued.

Plus, Jon Pertwee in his first and AFAIK only appearance in a video game.

That's a bizarre and probably inappropriate simile. It'd probably be more accurate to say "like when ppl used to debate whether what remute makes counts as music."

Given that there is zero actual game play experience to it, you're safe just watching a Let's Play if you want to see what it's like.  There's one "health" meter that does nothing and, from reading reviews, has no penalty for hitting 0% and no influence on the game what so ever.

Also, I see that Motoki went with the Judge screenshot rather than the naked hermaphrodite spinning through a tunnel of kisses.  Good call.

It was $1 from IndieGameStand late last May. I was wracking my brain trying to remember where/why I bought it. Now I've solved 50% of the mystery.

Usually, I buy bundles if I feel the price is worthwhile for the bundle & the game(s) that I really want are really something that I just have to have.

If it doesn't fit those requirements, then it winds up in my Cesspool List and/or Steam Wishlist.

Sometimes I do mess up, short-circuit, and Gilby a bundle - i.e. when I didn't buy Shadowgate remake in Groupees. Still, though - I did eventually trade and get that that one on the Cesspool, so it somehow worked itself out.

I was thinking more along the lines of crappy German simulators but I guess there is that Euro shipping game.

Come to think of it Shoppa did strongly encourage people to buy it from Humble on Corals sekrit batsignal mailing list so I guess he tried to troll us.

And yes, I did buy it. :p

Only way I'd reserve that bundle is if I was drunk. Didn't even know about the Humble Build a Bundle thing, but I looked and yeah those games look bad. It's a lose, lose anyway.

so 3 steam keys i assume?

Yup.

cyanicGroupees HQ12:22
Hmm, doesn't look like there are any Greenlight games. 2 DRM-free.

cyanicGroupees HQ12:23
So 3 Steam, 2 DRM-free.

Two games have been bundled once each.

Someone on steamgifts guessed two games will be Inner World and Pixel Heroes because they're games in the humble copied-from-groupees-format bundle from German devs.

None of us were going to buy that from the Humble build a bundle sale anyway because it was already in the $1 tier in a Humble Weekly bundle

We should already all have Pixel Heroes from the Humble Weekly.

Unless you're a FakeCAG, in which case

That's why you're supposed to tremorbro it.
None of the offers I've seen have been worth the time involved.

Last time I checked the ones that were available were worth 40-60% less than the US ones, and most of the better US ones just weren't available at all.

All the non-US people always complain that Tremor sucks for them. Which is funny because they always steal all the good shit while we're sleeping.

Probably because the smart ones know that trading in CSGO/TF2 shit is the easiest way to get coins.
Is there some way around the 2 week trade restriction? I used to do that but ever since they changed how the steam marketplace works I can't be bothered...
