Dimmdrive got added to the software bundle at a new $5 tier. Before it was revealed I saw in chat that apparently the software that was going to be added was on a lot of people's wishlists so I guess I got my hopes up thinking it might be something I'd heard of or something that looked interesting.

That's not bad. It's not that useful now that SSDs are more and more common, but if you still have mechanical hard drives and RAM to spare, this can be of some help.

 
It is fairly janky software though. It doesnt do intelligent caching, so for games that you would want to use this for, i.e. 40gb+ for faster map loads, you have to be able to specifically identify which files you want resident on the ramdrive, unless of course you have 40gb+ of ram to spare for a single game that I guess you must care deeply about.

Intel RST is much more elegant.  Sure its not a ramdrive, but it is ssd caching, and its built into almost every motherboard for the past 6-8 years. Just need a spare 64gb ssd, and after you do a couple reads on your large drive those data chunks become cached and now accessible at ssd speeds.  Been using it for years, and once somethings in cache it does run at ssd speeds, Im usual in MP matches at the same rate as friends who have their games on ssd

Still pretty meh. The fluctuating coin is the one thing that keeps it from being a disappointment. The mystery game could help, but let's be honest, this is Groupees.

When I saw that pug game in the $4.50 tier I was like...wtf. $0.99 MSRP will be bundled 98729354723 times game.

That Heroes game looks OK...just a bunch of OK looking stuff. What was the humble monthly repeat? Spending a coin sounds alright...should have used that instead of real money.

This bundle is basically a flaming turd with a coin to make you think it's not except you won't ever use the coin because you can't use it on pre-orders and nothing else is worth buying unless you're Nitrosmob and like deviant weeboo porn.
