To me, that would also contribute to GS not wanting us to get 25% since we are only making coupon purchases.
I don't think I've ever once contradicted such a statement. The only point I have ever tried to make is that the negativity was unnecessary. We were just speculating about the future of the coupons, without any solid evidence. You turned out to be right, for now. All right.

Again, though, my problem (not with you, just in general) is this assumption that CAG is this big, huge force. It isn't. There are 40,000 registered members, many of whom are not active. Then, you have the people who don't shop at GS for whatever reason. We constitute a small portion of GS' sales. They are not making business decisions based on what we do. I would say, though, that they are quite aware that sites like ours, FW, SD, etc. are out there, and yes, they know very well plenty of us only go into use the coupons and that's it. So, yeah, they would certainly want to shave a few percent points off to discourage bargain hunters.

Picked up Resistance 2 and WWE SvsR:2009 for $42.?? each at two different GameStops. One also had CoD:5. Does anybody know if CoD5 has offline 2-player split screen co-op?

So many games I wanted to get but they are all 1-player,
Fallout 3, Midnight Club: LA, Metal Gear 4, and Dead Space.

It's insane how somebody buys a game and sells it back within 3 days. Could've just rented it. Their loss our gain.

Wait, did we all just have a moment? I'm tearing up guys. Seriously, this is a huge moment. No name calling or anything, we all came to a mutual conclusion and did it respectfully. Damn I'm just so happy.

For the record, I have been drinking.

Damn, my printer ran out of ink just as I was about to head to GameStop now. Could I still make use of this offer if I don't print out the actual coupons? Like I give them the code or something?

Most gamestops will want the coupon, but depending upon how well you know them they might let you slide with just the code.
This will give me the chance to pick up Battlefield: Bad Company since the regular used price is $34.99 now.
Familyvideo have it for $20 plus free shipping. Why pay $28 plus taxes ?

I hope next weeks coupon is for 20% of 360 games I could return my unopened copies of "Mirrors Edge" and "Call of Duty:WoW" and save like $32.00, that is if I can heep them unopened for the rest of the week.

Because if he has EDGE, now it's only $25, and he can check the condition of the game.

yes cod5 has split screen offline.

Ya, I hope this was our moment haha. I think it shows that none of us are internet troll bastard types, just people with strong convictions.

It's too bad we don't have more data. I do think CAG makes up a large % of sales that Gamestop does with their coupons. This includes CAG members and their friends and lucky townfolk who get free coupons. The avg CAG user buys multiple games with the coupons, I believe much more than non CAGs. But there's no point in arguing on this particular point without data. We can reside with our personal opinions.
Coupon expires tomorrow and not today right?
You can use it until they close this evening... Thursday/9pm.

i say its 25% off used DS/PSP games since i just picked up 2 used Ds games yesterday LOL

figured might as well grab them now for 10% off so i get them complete
can you get 30% with edge card?
Yup, Edge should always stack with the coupon and come off from the original price.
The only time I think Edge won't come off the original price is if they have to do a manual adjustment, but that's so rare with one of their coupons (usually only when you're trying to stack them with some other promotion) that it's more of a non-issue.

i am planning on trading in fallout 3 with guide, dead space with guide and halo 3 and getting smackdown vs raw 2009 and nba 2k9 with the 20% coupon,

so i can trade in fallout 3 30.00
dead space 22.75
and halo 18.00
and get 14.15 bonus equaling 84.90

then buying smackdown 55 used
and nba 2k9 55 used
for 77 after 30% coupon

is this correct?

How early does the next ad get put up? I know its usually the day before. I would like to know b4 I go over there today if next weeks coupon is a 360 coupon. (Crosses fingers)

I really really really don't like buying used games... but as a recent purchaser of a PS3 this would be helpful in maximizing games for my money from all the flipping.

PS3 discs will pretty much always be in pristine condition, if that helps. Scratch resistance makes a world of difference. All of my Used PS3 discs are flawless.

If you're worried about the case and manual on the other hand... it's a toss up but I generally find that PS3 games on the shelves of my Gamestops are in pretty good condition for some reason.

Any particular reason? I personally love used games because in my experience, I have found very few truly dreadful games, in which case I bring back to Gamestop for the refund.

Used games online is a no go for me unless I get confirmation of completeness but used in store is just fine. I've been lucky and stumbled upon many gutted copies of brand new games that have been opened simply to fill the shelf. With these kind of coupons it's just icing on the cake.

EDIT: I buy mostly 360 discs and they're usually pretty good, but PS3 discs are scratch resistant as mentioned above and it really helps. My friend, who is not a CAG but moochs off my finding of coupons, scores a ton of used PS3 games at his Gamestop. No complaints

This is going to be pretty contradictory I suppose, given this is CAG after all but... I would under normal circumstances buy new because of how Gamestop screws over the industry with their used games practice.
Also, recently I went to buy Gears 2 and wanted Gears 1 to own (my roommate had it and that's how I played the first one) but could only find a used Gears 1. They all were scratched pretty bad IMO, but of course I was told "they will play just fine blah blah blah".

I will probably take advantage of this though. I do like having an original case/manual for the game though. It'll just have to be a case by case (no pun intended) basis.

You funny man, no coupon for you!!!

Seriously though, still isn't up yet. This might be one of the weeks where I get the finger and they dont post it until late tonight or early morning. I would assume a Wii 20% or 360 20% coupon if they follow patterns.

Oh god. It's a free market for a reason people. Games shouldn't get special treatment. If I have a car I can trade it in or buy a used one. If I own a bed I could sell it to someone and go buy a used one. At pawn shops I' am able to buy a used guitar or sell my power tools. Games are the same thing.

A few things I do know about this weeks ad:

Used Deals

Final Fantasy III (DS) - 12.99
Black (Xbox/PS2) - 9.99
Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC) - 19.99

Only store that had NHL 09 was on the other side of town. Travel all the way there and the coupon wouldn't scan. Then he inputs the code and all I saw was 10% came off. Then I said scan my edge card and nothing was coming off. I said it should be 20% plus 10% making it 30% off. Then another guy starts reading the fine print and I tell them edge card isn't a deal or promotion and I have done this 10 times before.

He calls another store and does that it doesn't stack thing right to the guy on the phone assuming he is right. Trying to make the guy say what he wants him too. Then I hear silence. I said what they say on the phone and he wouldn't answer me. Then he says since the coupon is only ringing up 10% I can give you that and the 10% for edge making it 20%. I told him I want 30% of nothing. Then he keeps saying I'm trying to help you sir and is mad when I getting an attitude but I know I'm right.

Then he takes the 30% off and tells me I'm lucky he was here cause he is a manager and only managers can do overrides. Tells me I'm putting my ass on the line and if anything happens I'm taking the heat. Like he is doing me a favor. I asked again what they say on the phone and its not like I'm making this up. Won't answer again just tells me its my job to make the customer happy. After 10 scans of my credit card since there router was down I finally leave. Gotta love Gamestop.

Was hoping to snag a used Mirror's Edge during the promo but couldn't get one within 45 minutes of me, unfortunately.
Might have to wait and see what the BF promo yields.

Broke down and bought 3 used games:

LBP
Resistance (If I like it I'll get Resistance 2)
Ratchet & Clank

The quality of Gamestop stores varies so wildly. Some have genuinely knowledgeable employees, others are dumber than a bag of hammers. The one store I most frequently visit actually encourages the use of coupons. I've heard the manager tell customers who buy used games to sign up for the e-mail newsletter so they can get them.

Back on topic, I used this coupon on a used copy of NFS: Undercover. The game blows, but I feel a lot better about not having paid full price for it. ;)

Indeed. GameStop is exactly like any other store. Some good employees, some bad employees. The difference is, you don't really interact with most retail employees. Generally, you shop in the store, get what you want, and bring it up to the counter. They ring you up, you pay, and then you leave. With GS, there is generally more interaction with the employee, so it becomes far more clear when the level of service is crappy.
