I, for one, think it's nice that the special education schools are letting their students surf the internet.

I looked through the first few posts and didn't see anything about this deal needing a coupon. So the computer should auomatically do it at EB?

Done. I wasn't aware there were two SOCOMs for the PSP. It seems the newer one gets $1 less than the older - wierd.
If the old one is getting more than the newer one then they must not have updated the computer or something cuz there's no reason why it should be that way, oh well :D

Oh heavens yes. I was surprised to find that the BB by me still had a few Harvest Moon DSes left! And the coupons went without a hitch (I've never had a problem with this store before), so I'm off to flip these tomorrow toward Halo 3. I love you, CAG.

No Harvest Moon at a distant Best Buy.

Lost in Blue 2 is $9.00.
Pokemon Diamond is still $18.00.

EB Games does not accept the DS Web Browser.

I went to my BB a few days ago to pick up some HMs, since they carried them for awhile. They were totally out. On a whim I stopped at the nearby gamestop, and what do I see on the DS shelf? 26 copies of HM! I'm not exaggerating, I counted them all! I thought I was the only CAG in my area since I can find deals 99% of the time. Whoever it was in the O'Fallon Illinois area, Curse you!

Here's what I got for my trade-ins

Nintendogs - $11 ($16 with bonus)
NFS: Carbon - $7 ($12 with bonus)

+10 for using money on preorder ($2.80)

So, got $30.80 total for those 2 DS games. Not bad.

Date of trade: 8/2/07

honestly this deal aint bad. I traded in some games that people like but its hard to find used.

Mario Kart DS+ Animal Crossing DS(11+12+10=33)
Nanostray+Yoshi Touch n' Go(4+6+10=20)
Madden 06+ Dynasty Warriors PSP(3+2.50+10=15.50)
total=$68.50

While I was there, I finally found Loco Roco used, for $25. Great game!

I was asked if I wanted Cash or Credit when I was gonna checkout also, I think I should of taken the cash. I'm sitting on $150 and I sure as hell don't shop at gamestop that often

I traded in Hot Shots Golf Open tee and Gradius Collection for PSP.

Got 3.00 each for em plus the 10.00 i paid 2.00 per game..so eh...and with that credit i got Transformers Season 3 Part 2/Season 4 DVD X-D

I traded in a couple of PSP games - world tour soccer ($2) and medievil resurrection ($3). The clerk told me the bonus wouldn't apply to these games since they trade for < $5. Said screw it, trade them in anyways (I paid $4.90 for them) then low and behold I got the $10 extra credit regardless. It must be in the computer to happen automatically - just happy I got the extra trade in! How much are the harvest moon DS's going for at BB? Another YMMV?

Made some of my trade-in rounds this morning, although the flooding in the northeast meant the trains in NYC were bogged down, so I was late to work but it's worth it to scavenge the best out of this deal. :) Made two hits, picked up an Edge card sub and got the following (base + promo + Edge):

Zelda: Twilight Princess: 37.50 (25 + 10 for coupon from other thread + 2.50)
Advance Wars DS, Mega Man ZX, Metroid Prime: Hunters: Each 16 (10 + 5 + 1)
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror: 11.60 (6 + 5 + .60)
Metroid Prime Pinball: 7.20 (2 + 5 + .20)
Kirby: Canvas Curse: 12.70 (7 + 5 + .70)
Harvest Moon DS: 16 (10 + 5 + 1), done twice

Total of $149, minus the $14.99 Edge sub I needed to buy, so I ended up putting about $37 on a Halo 3 reserve and took about $97 in loose credit.

Unfortunately, neither spot would let me triple-dip to take advantage of the Halo 3 preorder bonus; I probably should have used Zelda separately to do that, but I was in a hurry and didn't think ahead. I have one more Harvest Moon to use (to pair with Touch Detective), and I want to see if I can get the last HM available at my Best Buy. I was able to use the GamePro coupon twice, but they didn't let me the third time (different register worker).

This is helping me actually afford all the games I want this fall! Thanks as always, CAG.

I got the triple-dip to work - woo! $5 + 10% Edge + 10% preorder bonus for Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy - good times.

Trade values (bold = change to wiki value)...

Wii
Harry Potter: Phoenix - $17 (NEW)

DS
Brain Age - $7
Clubhouse Games - $10 (NEW)
Finding Nemo - $5 (down $3)
Gunpey - $1.50 (down $1.50 since last week?)
Pac Pix - $2.50
Scooby Doo - $4 (NEW)
Scurge: Hive - $1
Spectrobes - $9

PSP
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee - $3
Pirates - $7 (NEW)
Scarface - $6 (NEW)
WTF - $3 (NEW)

All in all, I paid off both Metroid and Mario Galaxy, picked up Picross DS, and still had a little to spare. Really good time to be unloading DS/PSP games that no-one wants on CAG ;-)

Well... I have around 30 or so PSP games I no longer play. I guess it is time to turn those in. Quick question: Will they limit me on how much stuff I turn in for credit? I was thinking about turning those in and other PS2 games and then using all of the credit towards a PS3.
Just the PSP games alone will net me around $125 BEFORE bonus. So add in the $150 of the bonus money... that gives me basically $275 total. Then I want to add in some PS2 games I no longer play. That is an additional $75-90 in credit.

Will they give me any hell for this?

No. You'd only be doing them a favor by trading in 50 games.

as reported earlier, dont do one mass sum b/c apparently there is a limit on how many bonuses you can get on one transaction. break it up over a few days/stores just in case

Took 4 games to my GS today, I was told 07 and earlier sports titles were excluded, but the guy workin the register was just asking his co-worker about all the details, and I suppose he could've been wrong.

I decided to just hang on to the other 2 games (Dynasty Warriors and Madden 07) rather than trade em in cause without the extra $10 it's just not worth it. I figure I can find some kid to trade me a non sports title game for Madden before the offer expires.

I got:
X-Men Legends II $7
Dead to Rights Reckoning $4
+ $10 credit = $21 total

Not bad considering that's probably what I would've gotten off Ebay.

LoL Thats hella funny.

Traded in my last Harvest Moon DS with Touch Detective yesterday, and Touch Detective is down to $8 in credit (used to be $10 on the Wiki). So now I have enough credit and money from trading in stuff here and at FYE to fully pay off Guitar Hero 3 and have (hopefully) enough for the full Rock Band bundle!

Just got back from EB after trading in a couple DS games. Traded in

Castlevania DOS - 7
Over the Hedge - 6
Phoenix Wright - 7
True Swing Golf - 3 (which i just picked up at Kmart for $3.50)

Before ringing it up the employee said that True Swing Golf might be excluded, but it turned out it wasn't. I mentioned that I thought only Sprung was excluded but he said that there were 4 games on the exclusion list, one of which is a golf game, another is Feel the Magic, and he couldn't remember the others. So along with trading in some Wii games with the $10 extra coupon I was able to pay off a Bioshock LE pre-order and then some.

I traded in all of the following games. I was able to get the bonus on all the games. The games were traded in over several stores. I had gottan all of these games from a random disc only lot. I made a couple hundred dollars in profit, not to bad :)

Anyone run into problems with trading a DS and PSP game combo today, or very recently?

I could have sworn the trade page on the GS website used to have a part that details one for "DS/PSP", but it's gone now, and only the Trade 2 DS and Trade 2 PSP versions remain.

Would appreciate if a GS/EB worker could chime in if it's a new change? I was going to bring in one of each this weekend? How likely will it be enforced?

Thanks.

Curse you procrastinattion!

I went in and traded:
Resident Evil 4 (Wii) - $15
NFL Steet 2 - $5
MX vs ATV - $3

All-in-all not bad, I walked out with $45 in credit, enough to get a decent used game.

Traded in some stuff today

For DS:

-Harvest Moon DS ($10 base + $1 for edge)
-Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow ($7 base + $0.70 for edge)
-$10 bonus for trading in both

For Wii:

-Ant Bully ($5 base + $0.50 for edge)
-$10 from coupon in other thread

For 360:

-Madden NFL 06 ($1 base + $0.10 for edge)
-Play & Charge Kit ($6 base + $0.60 for edge)

Ended up with $51.90 total in credit. Not too bad since Harvest Moon and Castlevania were originally $5 each at Best Buy, Madden was originally $9 at GS, and Ant Bully was originally $7 after coupon at GS. I basically doubled my money. \\:D/

I traded in around a dozen games the other day and one of them happened to be lumines. :bomb: I thought I had looked up all of them, but when I got to gamestop I looked and saw two games I didn't look up. Socom Fireteam Bravo and Lumines. I chose Lumines because when I bought it over the holiday season it was only $8.00 brand new and they (Circuit City) had like 20 copies. I didn't think it couldn't have gained value. Leave it to a PSP firmware hack to cause a game to skyrocket in value. HA!!!

The sad thing is that I would have never known if GS hadn't given be $11.00 trade-in before bonuses. I knew something wasn't right. It's like they through me a bone. Live and learn

Traded in:

Harvest Moon DS (x2) - $10
Kirby Canvas Curse - $7
Magical Starsign - $5
Total: $55.20

Would have eBayed Kirby, but putting the profit from Harvest Moon on top of it (picked up on the way to trade) made it worthwhile.

Who would have thought that EB/GS getting an improved POS that actually automatically handled promos would make it more of a pain in the ass than it used to be?

There are a ton of Lumines II copies at my local Toys R Us for $10 each. They are worth $7 trade in so if I bought say 6 copies, I will be profiting only $12. Not worth it sadly :(.

I did however pick up 4 PSP games at Best Buy today for $5 each (after coupon) that have trade in values of $5 each so that's pretty awesome.

Deal breakers make me sad =(.

There are 6 plastic tubs of PS2, GBA, DS, and PSP games on clearance at my local Kmart. I did pick up the 1 DS golfing game while I was there but there wasn't anything in there I could flip for profit.

There were a really nice selection of games in there though so I might go back for a few just to play... Is Donkey Country 3 for the GBA pretty rare?

Isn't that a $42 profit on 6 copies of Lumines II?
Isn't that a $42 profit on 6 copies of Lumines II?
No, it isn't.

$42 (Trade in)
+30 (Bonus)
+4.20 (Edge)
________
$76.20
-60.00 (to buy Lumines II)
______

$16.20 Profit

Not that bad, unless you run into a clerk who won't take multiple copies of the same game.

I was looking at a similar situation, where $5 games have a $1 trade value. So that would net me 2.20 for each pair. Bleaccccch.

My bad, I thought this was like the PS3/Wii deal.
My bad, I thought this was like the PS3/Wii deal.
That explains it!

This is 2 games for the $10 bonus.

Went to TRU picked up 4 copies of Lumines II in clearance. Each copy was $9.99 plus 15% off clearance games plus i stacked that $5 off $25 coupon.
paid 7.23 cents each.

Went to Gamestop and traded all of them in for $7.00 + .70 + 5.00 each. Got $50.80 and used it for Metroid Prime. Triple Dip didnt work =\ But still im pretty stoked for paying about 30 bux for Metroid.

So I finally decided to jump in on this deal to get rid of Hoshigami (not that bad of a game, it was just exceedingly average, and the rap system is overrated), so I picked myself up a copy of Nanostray to trade in with it. I also decided to pick up Lumines II to try and make up whatever money was lost through hoshigami and found that they were nearly cleared out (still like 10+ more, but before it occupied half of the clearance bin with Gunpey). Anyways, was fortunate to find myself a complete copy of Electroplankton at the Gamestop close to it, so thank you whoever traded that in all complete-like. :D

Well you have to factor in taxes, so in actuality it might have been closer to $12 or even less depending on how much taxes are in your state.

Does anyone know if GS still takes the Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt demo in for trade-in? I know way back they were giving $2 for it, but I wasn't sure if it's still in the system. I figure even if it's worth like 50 cents, it's worth it to trade in along with a real game if it'll snag me the $10 bonus.

Ape Escape Academy for PSP only gets $5, the wiki has it at $11 or something (but it's an old report, so no big deal). Just a note in case anyone wants to bring it in.

Alright, I got a pretty good deal on trade-ins yesterday, just thank the lord that I had 4 different EB's / Gamestops right in the same mall, haha.

Anyway, here is what I traded in, I know atleast two of these prices can be updated in the wiki (I used the Wii trade-in coupon, the DS promo, and traded in 5 360 games, so my post isn't just about this promo).

--------------------------------------------

Legend of Zelda: TP (Wii) - $25.00 + $10.00 coupon = $35.00 (The cashier didn't apply my Edge Card to the bonus, and I honestly didn't even notice until I left, so not a big deal - only $2.50) store credit.

Red Steel (Wii) - $8.00 + $10.00 copuon + Edge Bonus (this was at another EBGames in the mall) of 0.80c = $18.80 store credit.

Lost Planet (X360) - $11.00 (although I only got $9.90 for it since I traded for cash).

G.R.A.W. (X360) - $5.00

Pirates of The Carribean: A.W.E. (X360) - $10.00 (Biggest dissapointment on a trade-in, figured I would have gotten $25, but then I realized the recent price drop - ah-well).

The Darkness (X360) - $25.00 (note to anyone who wants this, I'd recommend renting it, but not buying it, as there is nothing to-do after you beat it, but it is a phenominal game).

Command & Conquer 3 (X360) - $30.00 (I only paid $18.00 for it, so haha, I actually made a profit on this one).

Metroid Prime: Pinball (NDS) - $2.00

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - $7.00

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (NDS) - $7.00

Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (NDS) - $7.00

-------------------------------------------

All-in-all, after the bonuses were applied and everything, I made $172.00 ($174.50 - if you count the $2.50 I didn't get, lol), $72.90 of which was in cash, and the rest of it was in credit - so I got off pretty good with these EB / Gamestop deals for once, although if I knew Lost Planet and Pirates were only going to get me that much, I think I probably would have kept them.
u traded lost planet for $10? thats crazy...
wish i saw you at that GS, i woulda gave at least $15-20 lol
Haha, yeah, they didn't tell me the prices while they scanned them, and they were about to close in 5 minutes or less as-well, so I just took what I got, and then realized it afterwards.. lol, the same thing with Pirates, I have friends who would have bought it off of me for $25.00 or more most likely.

my list got updated as i traded a copy of tony hawks underground 2 remix for lumines

Bought - ($46.25, from best buy clearence)
Harvest Moon DS = $5.42

Harvest Moon DS = $10
Loco Roco = $8
Mario = $12
Smackdown Vs. Raw = $6
Burnout Legends = $6
Gunpey = $5
MLB 06 The Show = $6

I didn't realize they ever took that in! Anyone know the answer to this? I have my copy just sitting in a drawer somewhere and would be willing to part with another one of my less used DS games to get the $10 bonus on this.
