If you use trade in credit to get, then you dont have to worry about taxes. Plus, you get to play PM for free for a week. I know you can return used games within 7 days anyways, but at least with this way, you wouldn't have had to return it and have it go on your 'record'. I assume if one tries to do it too much they stop allowing that person to do it. Plus, if you can get paid 5 bucks to basically rent PM for a week, that's not too bad a deal. :)

to make sure you get your 50% and 10% edge card give the guy your games and the coupon. then when he tells you the total, tell him to scan your edge card and then there shouldnt be any problems.

on a side note, another freaking GS said the deal only applied to 2 games of the same system, and yes the lovely manager of the store refused to even type the code in...
 
Yeah...the manager at the GS that I traded to tried the whole, "I think this is only one coupon per person; it may only accept one code" line with me.

I told him if it doesn't that's cool....I'll just go trade at FYE and get some new games there instead.

The computer accepted all of the codes!! Go figure. There is no wording on the coupon or "glitch" in the computer system that forbids a person from trading in 10 games at the same time and getting the full 50% extra trade value. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure you have a physical coupon for every 2 games you want to trade. A manager has told me they need to have the physical coupon to send back to HQ to show proof of the extra trade deal. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it doesn't hurt to print out a few extra coupons.

I called my GS and I have a really cool young manager there. He Said I only needed to bring 1 coupon and I can trade in as many games as I wanted. Good Stuff. I'm gonna head there tomorrow.
 
i don't understand why some of these people throw up these stupid obstacles. it's a nationwide deal that corporate is offering to draw in more customers. why make it difficult to do it?

Yep. Expires on the 19th and therefor the 19th will be the last day you can use it.

Cant seem to find a good deal on a PS3 so Im thinking about trading in some of my 360 and Wii games to help reduce the impact to my wallet. lol

If you trade in a PS2 and two controllers they give you $100 credit towards the PS3. That might ease the pain, if you can take advantage of that.

Thanks for posting this deal. I traded in Motorstorm PS3 $25 and NFS Carbon x360 $17 = 42 + $21 = $63! Not bad since I bought both on ebay for far less than full price anyways so I really only lost about $10. This deal basically will get me Forza 2 for free.

I am glad I double checked what day it is today, I was planning on getting in on this deal tomorrow.

I actually lucked out and the person who rung my trades up at EB gave me an extra 20% for pre-ordering Mario Party 8 (is this really going on? I hadn't seen any one else mention this). He couldn't get it to stack with the Edge card 10% so he just added $5 to each game I traded in, which turned out to be +25% along with the +50%. So I traded in:

New SMB: 15 +7.50 + 5
FFIII: 17 + 8.50 +5
LoZ:TP: 26 + 13 +5
Rayman Rav Rabbids Wii: 22 + 11 +5

I will more than likely buy the two wii games back when their prices go down, but $140 bucks in the meantime is pretty sweet. This along $55 bucks for the Open Season / FarCry trade last week means I should be set with new releases for a while. Thanks OP.

Same with me. Even though I didn't finish Zelda. I kept the box art and such so I can pick it back up at a lower price and pretend it never left my collection in the meantime :lol:

I traded in Gears,Viva,99 Nights and Trauma center for DS, and got $98. The manager did the override for an extra 20% since I put 10 bucks down on Halo 3 . Not sure if I actually got the full 80% bonus(50% from ad, 10%gamers card and 20% halo 3) but I wont complain for getting almost $100 bucks for games I was done with anyways.

it should be on your receipt. for each game it should have listed first the 50%, then 10%, then 20% bonuses.

Its all on my receipt however like others said they couldn't get the extra 20 to work with the extra 50 so he had to do manual price bumps on each item. Who cares I am happy half of the games were gifts anyways. Guitar Hero 2 for 360 here I come :)
