GS: Instore/Online PUR Pro B2G1 on Preowned "Products" 2/28-2/29

So I decided to use the Pick up at Store feature since amazingly I found a shop close to work with the 3 games I wanted. I've never used it before so anybody have any experience. Does it seem to go well or is it basically one of those "well somebody pulled it off the shelf before we saw the hold on it, so we had to sell it."

Generally, they've went well. I've ordered a few site to store and they've been there every time. Even if the guy working gets it confused with a pre-order :roll:

They will pull the game and case/manual and hold it for you at the counter for 48 hours. You should receive an email stating whether or not they actually have the game or not. After I get the confirmation email I always call to make sure the game is complete and in good condition. Never had a bad experience with the process.

Even better, twice I've had them hold a game, which they confirmed, and then when I went to pick it up, someone had already bought it. Happened at two different stores.

It takes balls to walk up to the counter, be told "well, we have a copy but its on hold", and then lie and say "oh, well, yeah, that's my copy!" and takes even more stupidity to allow this to happen.
 
BEST BUY is JACKING DOWN their trade in prices because of the B2G1F at GS also because they are offering the 50% bonus for preorder of ME3 and unlocked peeps get extra 10%
 
So wait... this is only the games in that special sale section? Or the whole site?

Also, Gears of War 3 is still $54.99 USED hahahaha. Just that pricing alone makes me not want to shop there at all, for anything.

and zelda 3DS went from 20 to 11 in smae time frame WTF best buy????

gamestop always has this crappy sale going on. and prices that are well above everything for used. saw final fantay 2 for 17.99 used for the psp
 
Odd. My PUR card is put in and it's not giving me the deal on any preowned combination I try. Just the 10% discount.

Okay, I just got an email containing the ad for this week and decided to try again one last time before I contacted CS. Now it works.

Apparently my card was still showing as an EDGE member discount card and not a PUR Pro member.

Says right in the email and in all pictures you can by either...as it shows both cards. Is there someplace it specifically says you have to be Pro? Because if not, for anybody having issues in store, I'd just have them bring up the website or show them the email.
 
Just came back from a store near my work, and I snagged El Shaddai, Dead Rising 2 OTR and Marvel Super Heroes: The Infinity Gauntlet for $43. Funny enough, the only game I was planning to go get was the Marvel game which I know is less than stellar. But, my 3 year old son is really into superheroes now, and I know it'll be a great starter game for when he wants to try using a controller!

New Super Mario Brothers
Mario Galaxy 2

All in good shape and complete.

Keep or return? Dont know if it was a good deal or not...

Payed $24 out of pocket and traded in an old 360 controller for $13.50
 
Terrible time at gamestop today. Long story short, an expired pro member isn't the same as a regular member. And the manager insists that you have to get a regular card in a different name(after I had walked out and left the games on the counter to call another gamestop did he come up wth this answer) or renew your 15 dollar fee to get the promotion.

I hope your calculations are wrong. Wii games 1st party games are $50 new, $40-45 used. You should have gotten out of there

I plan to let mine expire and sign up with new info later next month. Reason being I have -5385 points from "buying" $ off coupons and then returning an iPad 2. Better to start over then to work my way out of that hole.

I thought you just needed a different phone number and/or e-mail address for a new/additional account. Can anyone confirm if the same name/address brings up other accounts?

Honestly, I don't know, The manager was a total fuck head. He said that it had to be an entirely different person according to him but I still don't understand why a pro member isn't a regular member when it expires. Thankfully I had backup with other gamestops in the area that weren't total idiots. But they all had the start day as today instead of yesterday.

Also, I know a lot of people around here (including myself in the past) complain about Gamestop, but they're not all the same: I had called the other day to reserve a game. When I called today to see if it was still being held, they said after a certain amount of time they have to put it back, and it had already been sold.

They did offer me, however, a new copy (still sealed) for the used price. So similar to other retail outlets, sometimes you get good employees and sometimes not so good.

Tried buying Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, BlazBlue CS Extend, and King of Kighter XIII (each $35) but I can't read my rewardzone numbers on my card, the damn ink is rubbed to the point it's just a black smear.

Hopefully I can still get in on the deal tommorrow when I go to the store directly.

pretty decent, all for ps3- Clash of the titans, Cursed Crusade, and Split Second...really wanted some couch co-op game and these I didn't have already.
 
Been pondering Mass Effect 1 all day and went back to purchase since GoHastings kept going OOS all day long .. and GS raised the price from 17.99 used to 24.99 used.

I got Mas Effect in store today for $17.99 in store.
 
Just ordered 3 copies of Black Ops :360: online for $35.98 + tax + shipping, had a little GS credit which brought it down to $30.35 and saw amazon has TIV for 360 version @ $20.25 each so I'm flipping 2 that way.
