GTA 4 Problem - Speech during cutscenes becomes silent?

Hi all. I recently got GTA4 for my PS3, and it works fine except for one issue. During cutscenes, after 2 minutes or so, the audio for the speech drops out completely. It doesn't fade out or anything, it just goes silent abruptly. Any background music that is present continues to play though, and once the cutscene is over, the game resumes normally until the next cutscene where eventually the speech drops out again.

Anyone have this problem or any idea how to fix it?

I also had a similar problem but was able to fix it by adjusting the sound settings. The solution was to go to both the in-game and system sound options and make sure the selected sound output is compatible with your sound system. Even if you think the current option is compatible with your receiver try adjusting it to something else to see if it will work. I had my system set to an option that should have been compatible with my receiver but I still had to change it to something else in order to be able to hear all the sound tracks, including the dialogue.

I don't think this is it as I don't have a sound system. I just have it outputting to 2 channel stereo via HDMI to my TV, and that's it. I already checked the in-game setting and it's also set to stereo.
