GTA Double Pack

CAGiversary!
Ok, first I really enjoy the GTA games. I have both III and VC and enjoyed both on the PS2.

However, as the price of the double pack seems to be falling on the Xbox, were the upgrades worth another purchase of the games?

I did it, for that price, I am sure it has to be worth it, plus I lent out my VC so now I have a copy for the xbox.

Honestly, I wouldn't do it....unless custom soundtracks are THAT important to you. But, it's only $20....I did have them both for PS2, but I let my brother have the system, so I may pick it up now.

No. GTA on the Xbox is buggy as shit. I made the mistake of buying it at full price last year. I wouldn't take those games for free now.

the GTA VC I played on PS2 was crap compared to the one I have for Xbox. couldnt play 5 minutes without it freezing. I can get at least 20 minutes out of it now. :whistle2:d

Nope, graphical update to VC were barely noticible and custom soundtracks don't mean so much when you have to stay in a car to listen to it, I mean I was going through cars before one song could even finish.

Sounds like someone has a Thompson drive..

Never encountered any bugs in my versions on Xbox. The graphical enhancements are worth it for GTA3 alone in my opinion. Especially at $20.

does the hyman condo still eat cars on the xbox version? and is the save game glitch at cherry poppers ice cream in the xbox version? the bugs on the ps2 kill me, i am hoping the xbox version isnt as buggy

Yep. But I didn't complain about the game FREEZING, which would be the fault of the Thompson drive, I complained about it being BUGGY, which is the fault of the coding of the game.

See the difference there? I could draw a picture if you need it.

mmm...please answer the question mmmkay...i had the xbox verison, then sold it for 35 dollars, gonna pick it up again tomorow at my local gamestop for 20. I never encountered any noticible bugs , and have no idea what your talking about.

I bought both of these games for $50 on release date for PS2, it saddens me to see them this cheap.

I haven't played the games in over a year but I can remember two annoying ones in particular.

If you have multiple save files sometimes it will overwrite the first save file with the second one. So, for example, if you saved your game in "slot 2" or whatever, played for a bit, then saved your game again in "slot 1", the game would overwrite your #1 save (the most current) with your #2 save. It was pretty annoying having to repeat missions. This happened to me two or three times.

The other one I remember is out of nowhere in GTA 3 the radio/custom soundtracks would suddenly stop playing. So you'd have to reboot the game in order to get the radio/custom soundtracks back working. That happened to me maybe 5 or 6 times.

Those are Xbox exclusive bugs as far as I know. There's plenty of other bugs in the game that are just part of GTA, either on Xbox or PS2.

I'm sure there were other bugs I ran into, but I don't remember and don't really care enough to think hard about it.

Oh, and stop typing "mmmkay", you sound like a damn fag.

Whoever said the games are buggy are wrong. The one that came out last year had glitches (peds stop talking. camera zoom would appear and jam for no reason). Rockstar patched the game and it is no longer buggy. I know because I bought it intially and sold it a year ago, but I bought the new one for 25 a few months back. The only problem is the music is a little quieter than the PS2 version, but its no big deal considering the upgrades.

So, which one should I paly first....I played both for PS2 a while back, and I finally ordered these. Should I even other with GTA3 or just go straight to VC?

IMO, GTA3 is just as good if not better than Vice City. I am replaying 3 and VC before I play San Andreas.

I went to GTA 3 first. It may be hard for you to go backwards because Vice City has things that GTA 3 doesn't.
