GTA:SA Settlement: Do you qualify?

I seriously doubt anyone here was either offended by Hot Coffee or felt upset at Rockstar for "misleading" them as to the content of the game. If opportunists want to sell their principles for $35, though, that's their call.

Considering they want you to be offended by the content. (Seriously, I doubt anyone was offended by that). And then you have to send in the copy of the game to them. You will get like $5 back for it. You could get more trade in value at GameStop then that I would imagine.

I will not waste my time taking money from a company that I want to keep pushing the envelope. I wouldn't even be offended if their next game after GTA4 is "Rockstar Presents: 2 Girls 1 Cup" - FREE SPEECH FTW!!!

Wow, CAG.

Honestly, I didn't read much on the site (as I mentioned not owning the game). Also, not owning the game I have not seen the "offensive content", so I can't comment there either.

You are all applauded for your integrity :applause:. Honestly, there are some people on here (and many in other forums) that would sell their own mother for a few bucks.

I did buy the game before it was AO but I sold on here to some guy for far more than it was worth.

I think he bought it for $55 or something.

I own it and I will continue to own it, at least for a couple more weeks anyway before my one friend grabs my PS2/Xbox collection and my Xbox for $450. Then, I'm getting a 60gb PS3 and rebuying the couple games I may wanna replay on my BC PS3 that I'm selling in the collection(94 games and an Xbox).

Personally, I wish it were 2 weeks sooner than when she said her family will have their tax check back by(2 weeks from now), since knowing my luck someone will buy that 60 gigger just 10 minutes before she gives me the $$$ and I go to buy it.

As for me being offended by the 'hot coffee' thing, I was not and I doubt I ever could be offended. Thing is, I recall hearing that one of the people who WAS offended was someone who bought the game for their GROWN, ADULT SON. WTF!?!?!?!?! Idiots need to stop having children really, if they're going to be offended by some digitized bumping and grinding.

It's not even that racy, even though the motions seem to be close to spot on. I watched the 'mod' in action on YouTube. It looked stupid.

Gamestop doesn't accept the AO version as a trade in.

There is no way I'll ever part with my hot coffee version. I would imagine most of the people who try and claim they were offended are lying.

If I didn't ship out my copy of the AO version with the lot I just sent out, I'd have probably tried for the $35 'settlement' and once I sent in my copy and got the $35 or so, I'd have gone to FYE and bought a used copy for $10-15 and had an extra $20.

Oh and FYI, I could swear the last time I checked Ebay, this game(along with The Guy Game) was NOT allowed to be auctioned. Either that or it wasn't getting crap in the way of $$$$.

Seeing as you have "Thrill Kill" as your avatar, I think it's safe to say you have zero integrity.

There's a difference between being a cheapass and selling your integrity to a bunch of lawyers for a higher trade-in value.

Ask me if I care.

However, I wouldn't do it if it would put R*/Take-Two in jeopardy of going out of biz.

As for the TK avatar, I haven't played the game and I doubt I ever will, but it was and still is on my top 10 list of games I want to play just to say I HAVE played them.

I sold my initial, "AO" Xbox version of GTA : SA after I found the whole trilogy for like 16 bucks at Circuit City. Even if I still had it (and miraculously still had the receipt from 2005), I doubt I'd bother to try and get any more out of Rockstar. That being said, they were fucking idiots for leaving that stray bit of code sitting on the disc.

That they were, but I guess digitized nudity or simulated sex is 10x worse than all of the real nudity I've seen in the average R rated movie.

It amazes me that games and movies are judged on different levels still.

I have always agreed, but find that the new generation of games is really turning things around. Uncharted was very much PG-13, but I think it would have garnered an M rating had it been a PS2 title. Heavenly Sword is another one that falls in that category.

I think the industry is really moving in a positive direction as far as game ratings is concerned.

I think it's funny that the ad spells out that the lawyers will receive $955,000 while the other $45,000 will go toward the consumers. If you like making money for rich lawyers, go on ahead.

Haha. Really? This world is so screwed up. Just imagine what the country would be like if Hillary were elected president. (I know, its not going to happen but how scary would that be?)

Ebay or Amazon then. You will make about $5-6 and not be a complete tool. People who get offended over everything should not be taken seriously anyways.

I have the original copy that I purchased from day one of the game's release, and I will never go against the developer that made some of the best games out there just to make the lawyers rich and happy.

:applause:

LoL - and your name fits perfectly with the topic ;)

I have no receipt, but I did have the hot coffee version. I borrowed it to a friend like 6 months ago. He’s since moved out of state, so I’ll probably never see it again.
