Moved to a link at GTA FORUMS because everyone is having a fit about it being on CAG.

This is pretty dodgy. The guys at EGM worked hard on that story--stealing their intellectual property isn't the way to thank quality game journalism.

I just now noticed the irony of that comment seeing as I got the magazine free from the CAG "Contest And Free Stuff" section.

Does anyone actually pay for EGM anymore? I've been getting free subscriptions since the PS1 days.

Who knows, I haven't paid for a single magazine subcription in ages as well.

Almost everyone on this forum has a free subscription to EGM anyways.

If I didn't get it for free, I wouldn't read it. They slurp up Sony and bash Nintendo too much for me. GFW is an awesome mag. I don't even play much PC games anymore yet paying for their subscription is completely worth it.

I haven't the past few years as I keep getting a year free here and there on the forums etc., but I would pay for it if mine ran out.

It's not great, but it's still the best magazine out there and I prefer it to the websites (which I seldom check--get most of my online gaming info here).

I trust their reviews more than other places as they're uber harsh on games, so they're scores line up with mine more often than other places.

At any rate, posting the images is technically a copyright violation, CheapyD could get in trouble for having them on the site and not removing them (I've seen that happen with scans at other forums over the years, where the forum owner gets a cease and desist letter from the magazine publisher).

The site has been in trouble from EGM with the Scorch situation before, so the sentiments do acknowledge some touched upon issues.
 
Yeah having those scans up (while thoughtful) isn't really a good idea. If that mag isn't widely available on newstands yet (subscribers usually get their issues first) then they'll have a serious bone to pick with Cheapy.
 
If I knew it was suck a fucking touchy subject I wouldn't have bothered.
This can be locked or deleted if it's such a big deal, it's all over the place if you google search anyway.

Yeah, don't be so touchy. We were just pointing out the legal issues. Putting scans from a magazine, book etc. online is the same type of copyright infringement as putting up links to mp3's etc. It's giving away content that is for sale and has a copyright.

But no one was bashing you personally for the effort it took to scan and upload them.
 
Follow the posted link at your own risk, I went to the linked thread and linked pictures and all of a sudden my anti-virus stuff started freaking out. Some crap even got through that I now have to clean out, so thank a bunch OP.

I KILL YOU! Nah it's ok. I'm not pissed or anything I just find it odd everyone runs for the hills on a website that promotes cheap and free stuff.

The link is clean for me, and the countless # of other people who've gone to it. I'm afraid it's you bro. I take it that you have Norton "extra exploding edition". Or you were looking at too much porn beforehand....

Anybody else have this problem?

All I know is when I brought up the site linked my antivirus went nuts, and it was fine before.

I wasn't looking at porn around the same time, so unless it was malware that sat around on my computer until it got interested in GTA news, I'm pretty sure that's not the issue.
