Has been backordered for a hell of a long time. I'm even hearing that it's been discontinued so DDD must've gotten a few in. Excellent price for a dope anime. Amazon has the individual ones for 10 dollas on sale. Includes 5 dvds and a shirt for 24.00

I believe theres are a total of 5 DVD's and total of 43 Episodes in the first set. If your asking about the total in the series then I have no clue.
 
I must say anyone that doesn't have this great anime yet better jump on this deal. GTO is definitely in my top 5 favorite animes I got this dvd box set about a month ago from DDD and every penny was well spent.

EDIT: how much is the initial d box? I love that series as well
 
What's so good about this anime, if I may ask? I mean from the description itself, it doesn't impress me very much. But then again, I'm mostly into fantasy/sci-fi/mecha-type anime.

On a related note, you can LEGALLY* download the live-action Japanese drama of GTO thru www.animsuki.com (BT site) which consists of 12 episodes, one TV movie and one motion picture.

The thing stars Takashi Sorimachi (you might know him if you've seen Ichi the Killer I think) as none other than Eiji Onizuka (ex-biker gang member wanting to be the best teacher in the world) and Nanako Matsushima (the Japanese mother in the original Japanese Ring movie) - what's funny is these two are actually married in real life. The show also has a ton of hot Japanese schoolgirl chicks.

Also, the theme song of this is sung by Takashi as well. You'll find it as "Poison by Takashi Sorimachi."

*it's legal because this is a Japanese TV drama that has a snowball's chance in hell of being licensed.

The Reign box set is also $24, beating Amazon's $8 sale by a longshot. I debated adding it onto my GTO order, but ended up deciding not to.
 
What other anime is GTO similar to? I got a small but varied selection of anime but I just want to know what I got in to. I know I shoulda asked before I ordered, but with that price, I couldn't resist anime on the cheap, even if it's a blind buy.
 
I was capitalistically checking sale prices of this item on eBay and noticed that LOTS of sets go unsold for $30, so you guys who missed out on this, might want to look on eBay. Many of them offer free shipping, too.

I see lots of bootlegs and very few real box 1 sets.

Well, this sort of joke isn't that hard to "get", except for one thing -- some people actually do buy up 20 copies for resale, and none of us knows you well enough to be sure that isn't you.

I'm sure when you write something like you did, you are 'saying' it like "I just picked up 20 sets. Thanks OP!", but when we see it, what we 'hear' is "I just picked up 20 sets. Thanks OP!". See the difference?
 
Thanks for the deal OP, I saw a couple episodes of this 2 years ago at school and absolutely loved it. By the way, does anyone know what size the shirt is?
