Guild Wars Platinum Edition - $8.99

I'm looking to pick this up - but I need a filler to up the total to $25+. Any cheap Amazon deals that are video game related (XB360 or PS3 hidden gems for instance)?

Thanks. ^_^

It was $7.99 yesterday. Wonder why the dollar hike? Thanks for posting. I am playing the demo right now. Mulling whether to buy.

Whats the deal with the platinum edition ?

Is this a better deal than the 20$ 3-1 pack or whatever ? (dont remember the details other than it as a sale @ best buy not long ago)

Yeah, I'm debating myself. The demo is really making me want to pick it up... >.

See, I played WoW for like 3 1/2 years and couldn't get enough of it. I still think, to this day, it's quite possibly my favorite games of all time.

Reading you type that you enjoyed this game over WoW really pushes me to want to go ahead and buy it. UGH.

..and, yes, $8.99 is expensive to me.

If $9 is something you want to save, wait for GW2.
GW1 has quite weird system that once you go to dungeons, you are alone by yourself unless you have a party. Any town is where you can actually meet people.

You payed every month to play WOW for 3 1/2 years and $9 with free online is too expensive?

It is now. Since I was laid off, I've yet to play WoW. Only reason I quit really. :)

This is honestly not a bad deal at all. Played it a bit when the original came out but found myself playing WoW for about 2 years then just went cold turkey on MMOs.

This was my first MMO that I played and it keeps you entertained for awhile. Sadly Areanet made some changes over time that I did not feel added to the experience (all the traders killed prices and perfect green weapons). I don't know how well the game has kept people's interest since I have not been on for about a year but with the use of hench and heroes you can do most things.

This was my favorite RPG (let alone MMORPG) for its first few years but with subsequent changes, it lost much of it's shine. I revisited it for a few months last year and fell in love all over again, but the deeper I got into the game's economy the less I cared to stay.

$9 is definitely worth it if you want to try a stellar MMO that doesn't require a subscription.
