Is there anything below the $70 MSRP? My GameStop has two left and I'll be going early Friday to pick one up... but I sure would love to find a copy (online or B&M) for less than $70.

$70 is a bit steep, but it does not seem to slow the sales. My local EB got in 5 units and sold them all in one day. I bought one for a XMas present and pre-ordered a second guitar controller. I had a chance to play around with it in EB and it is a blast to play. The controller feels solid and well built. The game itself has excellent graphics. I'd recommend it at $70 if you're into rhythm games.

Mine was $55 shipped from EB since I ordered back in August. I know that doesn't help you out, but ... well I really don't know where I was going with this.

I used a reward certificate and $7 in monopoly money... That made me feel better about buying it :)

nowhere, just like most of your posts in topics outside of the OTT

If it helps you any, I'd say it's well worth the $70. I've pretty much put 30mins to an hour into the game nearly every day since I picked it up. My wife asked to try it out even, and she never plays any console games.
You can use the $10 BB coupon that comes in the 360 kit and get one for $59.99
That was my original plan... but two problems: one, my BB is out of the $10 off coupons and two, my BB is out of the Guitar Hero with guitar controller bundle. I played the demo while I was at BB. I'm not a big fan of rhythm games (expect for Donkey Konga's multiplayer), nor am I fan of rock music- but this game is way too much fun, even more than the Gitaroo-Man.

Thanks anyway guys, I guess it won't kill me to pay $70 for a game... I wouldn't have a problem with this 2 years ago but since becoming a fairly heavy CAGer, it's like cutting my arm off.:whistle2:(

I've got no advice to help you here but I'd like to add that I'm in a similar boat. I've wanted this game since I read up about it..and now after playing it for a couple of minutes at best buy I'm convinced.

My local TRU finally got it in, so I picked it up on Wednesday.
With the 20% off Holiday Joy card it's $56.

I also picked up Custom Robo for $9.99 as part of the green tag price drop. As an unexpected bonus, I got a $10 gift card for spending over $75. Didn't even give the clerk a coupon since the discounted total was less than $75, but either the clerk f ed up or the register has a glitch that counted one item at full price. So, $66 for Guitar Hero, Custom Robo and a $10 gift card...

The 20% off card was attached to the back of a Toys R Us Holiday catalog that came in the mail, 'Big Toy Book' or something. The same catalog was in the paper a couple weeks ago, so it may have been on the back of that version as well.

They still have the catalog in kiosks, but I don't think any of the coupons are on the in-store version.

Arg! The Big Toy book ad... infamous in my home because every fucking year my mom throws it away.:whistle2:x

Well, I just dropped $75 for this game at GS. Damn, it hurt... a lot. I have to stop buying games, I just have too many to play and I'm spending too much on them as it is...

Glad that I did a search before asking. My wife and I played this at a local EB and had a blast playing along. She wants it more than I do. Anyhow, it seems as if the best deal is right now at TRU with the 20% coupon. Anyone know why this bundle is selling for over $100 on Ebay!?!? Craziness. I have seen it everywhere that I have looked.

It's kinda odd... I think that the reason for the high prices might be due to people worried about this becoming like Gitaroo Man since some stores have sold out but there are plenty of stores that still carry it.

Man, I wish I had that damn 20% coupon... would've been sweet to get this for $57.

Isn't that analogy a little extreme?

I got my copy, new, for $50 from the local non-corporate game store. My advice is look around at some of the fairer priced game stores. Either that or go to the Flea Market if you're ever in Daytona Beach for some reason.

I am so glad that I did make a quick decision to buy this game when I saw a Redoctane's coupon posted here in early Nov.

Multiplayer bundle (w/ two guitar) asks for $89.98 plus free shipping. It's really a steal.

Many of my friends also want to pick up this game after playing it on Thanksgiving party. But the coupon code has expired and I did some search yesterday and couldn't find any deals.

any chance that red octane would offer such coupon again?, i was skeptical about paying that much for a game.. but so far the review has been good, may pick it up sometime later if it's become a bit cheaper..

I was skeptical despite the reputation of Harmonix and Red octane...but the game is a hit and a blast. I'll probably pick this up at TRU.
