Guitar Hero IV World Tour: 10/26/08 Gen. Discussion and Info - IGN 8.8

[quote name='eugaet']The GHIII guitar is supposed to be compatible w/ Rock Band 2. If it is, I don't see why the Aerosmith GHIII guitar would not be compatible, either...but they have it marked 'no' on the following chart:

The GHIII guitar is not compatible w/ RB1 Wii. Not that I've tried it myself...I'm just going off of anecdotal evidence.

You know about the unlock code, right?

I don't know how I missed your post - thank you so much!

OK, the thing I mentioned about the font earlier? No way to fix it (yet, anyway) and there's quite a few complaints on the GH community forums w/ no response from Activision or Neversoft. They just used a very bad font (possibly on the Wii version only, can't find people complaining about the text on other versions) that makes the vocals damn near unreadable, at least on a standard TV.

Seriously, how does something like this get through QA, Activision? It's like they didn't even test the game on a standard TV before shipping it out.

Anyone *not* having legibility issues with this game on a standard TV? How about those with a widescreen HDTV?

Yeah, don't even try to sing any of the Spanish songs, they're even more scrunched up looking.

What I find even more ridiculous is that the text is the same size in both band and single player. Sure, I can understand band mode, where space can be limited if you have a full group playing, but single player? Where you have all the room in the world? Nonsense. Easily my biggest gripe with the game, but I'm still enjoying it.

But hey, maybe this time around they could send us a patch? Who knows.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible to patch retail Wii games, the system just isn't designed for it.

We've been playing on a 32" HDTV LCD and have no legibility issues whatsoever.

It's not possible for Activision, but from what I've seen at scorehero they seem to be pretty close already to being able to make custom discs like was possible with GHIII.

To go along with the guy above me, I have a 32" HDTV as well and don't have a problem reading it. With that said, I do think they could have used a better font because while I can read it with no problems, I could probably read it even easier if a better font was used.

So, I could see where it might be a problem for smaller sets/ standard definition.
