i was just wondering if anyone knew of any guitar hero clones for pc (freeware of course) that lets users create and download their own songs. one that could use the 360 controller as well. i ask because i just hooked up my old pc to my tv downstairs and though that would be pretty fun if such a thing exists (which i imagine it does). so if you know of said program, can you post it in here.

i gotta say frets on fire is pretty weak.

got it all set up, downloaded about a dozen songs, got my 360 guitar to work on my pc... but, it ran like crap on my computer and the whole song cutting out thing is very very annoying. the song selection is great though, if the software was better it would be worth it.

if you read the op, i do mention i have the 360 guitar, you can deduce from that that i already own the game on 360. what i really wanted was a way to play custom songs easily. now if you know of a mod for the pc version, then by all means post it. otherwise, take your smart ass to another thread.

Frets on Fire is decent and has amazing selection. The game just doesn't work that great. It has good potential though.

Get Alarian's mod. There are lots of options and performance mods included.

I'll point everyone to the FoF page. Custom songs? Well, I'm still on the default songs so I can't help with that.

BTW, has anyone turned off antialiasing? It is on by default and that can cause sluggish performance.

has anyone had any problems running this game with Lefty Flip on? every time i run the game with lefty flip it crashes to the desktop with an unknown error but this only happens when lefty flip is selected. i have tried a couple of different mods and settings and figured out that it works fine except for when it is in lefty flip mode. any suggestions?
is there one that utilizes the rock band drum hack yet?
look in the Frets on Fire forums, there's is a mod that adds rock band support which lets you use the drums which is pretty cool
