I am trying to find the Gundam Wing complete set and I see it $150 everywhere. I come across bootlegs for $50 on Amazon, but I'm looking for the real thing. Can someone help me?
Depends on what you're looking for, I guess. Here are some options, although I can't say if they will be "the best", but they are certainly more up your alley:
Whichever way you want to go, of course, but that should help. The code works on the entire order and, since it's Deep Discount's usual sale, it'll only last for several more days. Get your savings on!

Deepdiscount has it for $122.17 before the 20% coupons(below). If you don't need the box, you can also get the brick editions for $31.99 and $33.52 before discount.
Hahaha, I assumed you were talking about the Perfect Grade Wing Zero Custom model kit and thought, "Man, this guy needs help with his titles." Yep, I'm a dork.
Love this series out of all of the Gundams. Some of the others, while perhaps superior in conext and storyline, are just too boring and the pacing of the episodes is definitely off. I bought this back in the day when DVDs were just coming out, especially for anime on DVD. Cost quite a bit back then as well - really, an arm and a leg. I still have the singles.

Honestly, Gundam Wing is the only Gundam I liked, but I was young, and the main characters are pretty boys who blow things up. But no, the Gundam Wing universe isn't along the main universe storyline or whatever, so while some things are very similar, there aren't meta-references to anything, and it stands alone. Has it's own spinoff movie and everything.
I've got the series on VHS. I think I'll check out some of these deals.
Yeah, this is a completely separate universe from the main series. It's a great series to start with, IMO.
Gundam Wing isn't a great series, but still, I just...like it. I never like the other Gundam series, except for the 08th MS Team.
It's not a perfect series at all, but for me, it's kind of a nostalgic joy to watch. That and Yu Yu Hakusho are sort of guilty pleasures of mine, since I know they're not that good, but I'm still fond of them.
Gundam Wing is mediocre by itself, and complete garbage compared to the real Gundam shows.
The best place to start is with the original Mobile Suit Gundam (sometimes called Gundam 0079). Show is over 20 years old yet it is still better than most anime made today. From there you can watch any of the UC stuff (though 0083 is not that good), though I highly recommend Z Gundam. The best Gundam series of them all.
Gundam 00 is very very good, only out in Japan right now though as its just started. But its the first Gundam ever to be done in HD
ALready bought a ton from DDD but what is another hundo?
Wing's alright in my book, but my absolute favorite Gundam series would be The 08th MS Team. it's technically 14 episodes long, but the story and characters are very memorable.

I haven't seen Z Gundam, I should look into it. I must disagree with you about the original series, though. It was fairly good, but it was not better than "most anime made today."
Well, actually a lot of anime made today is probably lame, so it might be. But it wasn't better than the good anime.
