So, has anyone picked up the game. I'll admit, I was expecting the game to come out next week, until I checked EB Games this morning to find out that it came out today. Well, I found out about this game several months ago, when looking at Play Asia and badly wanted to import it (thought it would never come stateside). I love Falcom's games and the game looked too much fun in every video I saw. When I heard Mastiff was bringing this game stateside, I was very excited. However, due to several games coming out this month, I may have to wait a few weeks, but I'm definitely getting this. It will give my PSP another RPG. :)

Anyone else buy this game or consider it?
soooo, how is it?

I remember watching a vid of Gurumin on the PC, when I heard about this I was intrigued =)
My copy is still in transit. :(

I signed up for the mini guide drawing and they're sending me a free one for signing up :D.

5 Drawings for the signed ones is on March 18.

Thought I'd let you guys know ;)
Well it's a new release right? Fry's usually takes a couple bucks off new releases for the PSP.
yup. $29.99 in northern california and $34.99 at houston
Got my tax return back. I think I'm going to pick this up Monday.
Oh man, already?

Where'd you go to get your's done? There was a CAG who talked about H&R Block doing it for free if you made under a certain amount annually.

The place I go to with my family cost about a total of $200 to get it done for my parents and me.

Did it on Turbotax.com for $15.

Still waiting. Gonna pick up the HD DVD drive with the money.

I'll be buying the import of Gurumin.

o_O, how long did your return take to show up?

I might try that, just checked the site out, looks pretty awesome.

I've heard of turbotax, just never looked it up til now.

Took about 2 weeks. Was all pretty simple.

Anybody have feedback on this game yet?

I'll pick it up now if it's worth it

The trailers looked cool, gameplay looked fun :), but my budget's tight so my purchases need to count ;)

How exactly did you do it? Like what options?

There was the free edition

The next cheapest I saw on the site was $29.95 for the Deluxe

I'm a nub at this tax stuff :)

I have the Japanese version. It's a good (and cute) action platformer with a few RPG-like elements. Good music, and it sounds like the localization has been done well. I think it's one of the better PSP games out there.

Yay, guess I'll pick it up when I can then ;)

The game is really fun. It's got likeable characters, and good gameplay. My only problem is the load times can be annoying sometimes. But other than that it's a solid game that is definitely worth looking into if you like action RPGs.

Sounds good to me :)

I prefer action RPGs right now anyways, since my schedule and where I live doesn't allow me to delve into anything or spend a lot of time in one place >.>

They're much easier to get into, pick up, and play :D

As much as I'd like to play this game, and as much as I'd like to support a small publisher, I just don't want to pay $40 for it.
I'll never understand why niche games like this come out with high-dollar prices. I'm sure a lot of potential buyers are just going to get it used or wait for a price drop.

You can always do Ebay :)

It goes for about $30 + shipping most of the time

I have yet to buy it too, but I'm pretty sure it'll be due for a price drop sometime in the near future like all other niche titles unfortunately :/

I'm glad Falcom is pushing their titles for the PSP, they just need to work IMMENSELY on load times, the game I've seen with THE BEST LOAD TIMES EVER is Dynasty Warriors Volume 2, they're practically non-existant and it's freakin awesome!

Developers should pay attention to that game, cuz it's an awesome pick up and play game and they definitely improved a lot on the first one.

Let me just chime in here and say that if you're ever going to buy a game for full price, it should be from a company like Mastiff. They're a small company trying to release some relatively obscure Japanese games, and I think it's worth a few dollars to encourage them to keep doing it. I don't know if releasing the game at a cheaper price was an option for them or not, but content-wise Gurumin is on par with other games that retail for $40 on the PSP.

I bought Gurumin recently from GameStop for $20 and I've really been enjoying it. It's a bit too cutesy, but fun nonetheless. I like being able to acquire new moves and equipment, and the boss battles are pretty fun. Definitely worth $20 if you like action RPGs.

Yea, it's a cool game.

It's officially had a price drop to $20 in all stores, so this should be more affordable to those who were thinking about picking this up!

Opinions? I picked it up for $20 and promptly traded it to someone. It might get better as it goes but it was way to cutesy for me and I didn't think it controlled all that well. Once again, I didn't really get too far in though.

Rgr. Got it the day it dropped to $20.

Thoughts? It was so damn good that I couldn't put it down and ended up beating it in 2 days.

It's... simply magical. Like everything Legend of Zelda would have been if LoZ were challenging.

Pretty rare that an RPG comes along that's so awesome that it can only be described as magical... in fact, only a few times before have I been able to say that an RPG went past "excellent" into being truly "magical", and that was with Threads of Fate and Kingdom Hearts 2. Gurumin fits well with them as one of those titles I will complete time and time again without ever getting sick of it.

True, it has that "Kawaii!" thing to it, but then again, I also enjoyed FF X-2 mainly because of the battle system, but it didn't fly with others as it was too "girly"

The game is fun and a blast to play, and that's all that really matters to me :)

You sure you didn't make the game or write the marketing for it?

I just finished it this week in about 20 hours. It was a fun one. Kinda had that Super Princess Peach feel. Cute but fun. I'll play it a bit on and off at the higher difficulty and check out the additional content before I trade it in.
You sure you didn't make the game or write the marketing for it?
No, not at all(to both). You know, just because someone likes a game doesn't mean they were somehow affiliated with in on a business level... besides, I'm no where near good enough as a programmer to make a game like Gurumin.

Besides, if I were in control of it's marketing, it would have at least got a TV commercial.

Never said just because someone likes a game they are affiliated with it. It just sounds odd when someone calls a game like Gurumin "magical".

Well, for what it's worth - it just generally feels odd for me to say "It's magical" about any game, but the description fits.

At any rate, nah, I've got nothing to do with Gurumin's creation and/or marketing.

If I'd designed it, there'd have been way too many boss fights, all in which would have been damn near impossible, and there's no way I'd have allowed them to give Popon that annoying puffball hair thing... no, I'm just a random gamer who has been enjoying how much of an "RPGasm" the PSP has been for someone like me who wants more than the mainstream FF/Pokemon deal.

Had the opportunity to finish it over my flight back home and it was a simple but fun game. It was an overall good game, but too simple for my taste.

I don't know about "magical" but it's a very good game -- one of the best for the system, and right up there with Daxter in quality. For $20, it's a steal.

I got the game today too. I played about 20 minutes or so. Kinda remind me of Brave Fencer Musashi. Anyway, the game seem fun and easy. A good way to kill time on the metro train.
