Hey Vernox, would it be OK if you just got rid of a specific end time advertisement on the front page. It just encourages sniping, i.e., putting in a bid at the last second in the hopes that other interested folks won't have time to react to the bid. A study on ebay demonstrated that sniping has the effect of lowering final bids: good for the buyer who wins, but bad for you and for those bidders who don't drink caffeine at night.
What if you just said you were ending sometime today at 8 pm central *or later*, at your discretion, after the bids settle down? Or give a range of 4 hours or so? Basically eliminate the incentive to snipe. Other lowball auctions here sometimes do that from what I've seen.
Of course it's your auction, and you can run it how you want.
