What? Another Fable thread?

This one's different though. :)

Everyone seems to be talking about the Gamestop 4 game trade in, but I haven't seen much mention of the EB special edition (comes with a DVD with bonus features). If you preordered already, or are planning to, where are you going to get the game?

I traded in two crappy games at EB and used a coupon to get $20 bucks for them, then I had a $5 credit, so I'll get Fable for $25 from them.

There's no "special edition", really. You get a "bonus DVD" when you put money down on Fable. If your EB is out of them, tough luck, the DVD has been discontinued.

I picked mine up today, my store had one or two more left.

same here

I pre-orderd from gamestop and got the DVD, it isn't really that great although it did me a favor by having the sudeki demo on it, otherwise i may have put consideration into buying it, so kudos to that.

My local Gamestop had the pre-order DVD as well. It's the same as the EB one, with just a few differences in the cover; the Gamestop logo and the background of the picture is a different hue.

In answer to the thread, I'll be getting mine at EB, since I still have a ton of credit from back when I traded in a bunch of my old ass CDs.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but I just have a gut feeling about this one that it's going to be a big letdown, so I'm waiting until after the game comes out to think about getting it, and considering I still haven't gotten KOTOR I can afford to wait until it goes down to 20 to think about getting it. Stupid TRU and MTV sale, now I have 20-30 games still in the shrink wrap or on the way to play first.

Their both the same DVD and as others mentioned it's just branded from each store...

The ONLY difference I know of is that when I initially pre-ordered from GameStop...I got the DVD imediately and they said I can keep it even if I would cancel the pre-order (which I did)...

I got Fable at EB becuase of their $10/per trade-in toward a pre-order...but no DVD till I pick the game up.

I always worry too when it comes to such a hyped game. But if you read the hands on reviews of the game... it looks almost unfathomable for the game to fail.

I'm probably going to get rid of some crap @ Gamestop to get it for free. Legaia 2, Wild Arms 3, Lost Kingdoms 2 and Pirates of the Carribean.. I'll never pick any of the four up again... may as well move em.
Can you only get the special DVD from EB and GS? And to those that were able to get it, is it worth the trouble?
As far as I know, yes, only EB and GS have the pre-order DVDs. As far as worth the trouble, IMO I would say Yes it is worth it. It doesn't cost anything extra (as long as you were planning on buying the game anyway). Plus, having the bonus DVD will make it a more attractive package if you choose to sell it at a later date.

EDIT: I stand corrected on Target then, according to the above post.

Ordered from MTV Shop, with $8.29 and 10% off, free ship.

I ordered Jon Stewart's "Naked Pictures of Famous People" (If I remembered the title correctly) to bump it up over $50.

I just went to my local GS today and asked about the trade-in deal, and the guy said he had no idea what I was talking about. The only trade-in deal he knew about was fighting games for the Street Fighter collection. I guess the GS trade in is YMMV?

I did the preorder deal at Gamerush (trade any 2 games and get $20 off plus you can use your credit on the 2 games toward the preorder) and got about $5 credit back. They had the preorder dvd too and their logo is on the bottom right corner on the cover art.
