Had anyone had any problems with Wherehouse.com trade ins?

Okay, I sent in a brand new copy of transworld surf next gen for the Gamecube. I checked the disc and even took pics of the disc and the packing process as well (due to an earlier FUBAR on their part for trying to refuse my Malice for the X box.) I know the disc was not scratched by any means, the item was sent secured and via priority with DC. I know I packed it well and have a hard time believeing it was recieved scratched. I did send then a copy of transworld 2 weeks back as well. I am wondering if they are making this up due to many people trading it in these last few weeks. if that's that case it seems i may be SOL since they dont send the games back to you if they are rejected for any reason. Has anyone else had any problems with them? Thanx in advance.

Some of the posters on the FYE trade in thread were relating similar stories to yours. It seems to me wherehouse .com just doesn't want to accept certain titles.

I too just recently had a major problem with wherehouse. I sent them 1 XBOX game, 3 GBA games, and 1 DS game. The XBOX game I sent it was Rallisport Challenge 2. The game was practically brand new. I got it for subscribing to XBOX Live, and played it once. Figured I might as well trade it in since I wasn't interested in it. Of course wherehouse rejected the game. I was very upset and emailed them demanding they either send it back to me or give me credit because that game was brand new. They told me they would send it back.

So, on one hand I am very irked they rejected the game cause it was in mint condition. On the other, at least they're decent enough to send it back. Although I have not gotten it back yet, so we'll see. From now on, I'm only sending them DS or GBA games. Not gonna risk using them for CD/DVD games.

On another note, I now have all this great store credit and they have no games I want. I really wanted to get Minish Cap and Pac Pix and they have neither. I checked to see if they have Wario Ware Twisted and they don't have that. So, now I just have to hold onto this credit until I can find something I do want.

Yeah, i've emailed them before and asked about trade-ins.. they said if there's one scratch, they throw it away.. I doubt that's the case, i'm sure they'll take it and sell it but won't give you credit.. dsch sounds like he got his game back, so maybe they send them back now.. who knows.

That's bullshit if they don't send it back IMO. How can they just keep a game that they didn't pay for? I guess we can just go into their stores and say "I'm not happy with the condition of this game so I am not going to pay for it....but I am keeping it anyway." WTF!?!

Interesting. I guess I'm lucky b/c I traded in Transworld Surf, an Xbox game whose name I forget, and La Pucelle Tactics. All were accepted.

Did the game have any wording on it about being for promotional use only or not for resale like the games from the XBox retail site say? If so, that's why it got rejected.

"What if my CD/DVD/Game is stamped "Promotional Use Only" or "Not For Sale?"
Wherehouse.com will NOT accept these items as trade-ins. These items are distributed free by our label partners and are not personal property. Please do not send these to us."
