Half Life 2 & Battlefield 2?

Well, consumer depot is running it for 7.99 + shipping ... definately not reliable, though. CD key may not work. If it doesn't, you would probably be able to send the CD to Valve for a new CD key but it will take a while (see Valve's site about this).

Only do this if you are OK with a reasonable chance of losing your money.

Half life 2 was $20 last week at CC, and the collectors editon you can get for $30 at ebgames if your lucky, not sure cheap places to find BF2 sry.

You WILL NOT lose money if you go that route. Worst case scenario you wait a bit for a new key. Worth the ~$10 discount, IMO.
