Repackaging a bunch of old release before AB loses the rights to most of the franchise...lame.

You know the uncovered hundreds of hours of additional footage for the first Halloween? That would make a great disc in itself.

The found 100 hours of additional footage?

I have a question about the Blu-Ray: is it the old "incorrect" classic edit (with the blue hue all over the dark scenes) or the "remastered" edit where the colors are corrected but the movie loses its nostalgia factor. It's only about $15-20 at Meijer and I was about to pick it up a few days ago but wasn't sure which variant it was (in regards to color balance).

There is a review of it. I didn't read it myself but remember reading some place that the BD copy was not that great. I think it was the reviews at Amazon.com that I read that. They said they changed the color to much and were only to change it so it looked like an autom day in the midwest but changed it to much.

However Amazon shows this coming with

Product Description
Titles Included:
Halloween Restored original 1978 film
Halloween Extended Edition Halloween 4 The Return Of Michael Myers
Halloween 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers
Halloween 25 Years Of Terror SPECIAL BONUS DISC Halloween release

So what I get out of that is that it is a new disc that is not in with the 23 years of terror dvd set and no BD of the film or the HALLOWEEN Extended Edition (out of print for years). However some of the reviews of this on the same Amazon page say that this will be in it and a revised version of the BD. So it could just be that Amazon does not have all of it listed at this time.

I would be in for this if I didn't have all of it but I have most of the Halloween movies I want that are in this set and can get the rest cheaper then what the set goes for. If I didn't already have them it might be worth it.

I love Halloween but I don't feel the need to buy it from AB yet again. Plus that mask doesn't look that great.

On a related note has the alternate cut of Halloween 6 ever been released?
Not a great movie I know but I'd like to see the alternate version.

Why do you regard the blue hue color balance as incorrect? The Dean Cundey-supervised transfer has the blue hue, and we know that is someone who was originally involved with the making of the movie. Anchor Bay played around with the colors and DNR on the Divimax & Blu-ray editions, I don't see how that makes it more "accurate."

I had a VHS cut of the alternate version not too long ago. I'm not sure if I still do. In any case, it was an internet download a friend did for me and recorded it from his TV.

The alternate cut is much, much better than the original and is on par with Halloween 4 in terms of quality. I highly recommend it.

Why the hell can't they make one boxset and put everything in there? That's the reason I haven't bought Halloween movies to begin with. Re-releasing a new version every year or something. Besides, how many Halloween movies is there? I remember seeing the first one and some of 4.

[quote name='xycury']... am I missing something.

Where is H2 and H3?

Big fan of the series but I don't need a box set.
