Halo 2 Crushes every entertainment record in the first day!!

So the actual figure is closer to 1 million copies sold on the first day? Good to [finally] know.

I for one think Halo 2 is top notch entertainment. When you spend $ 9.00 for a 2 hour movie your paying $ 4.50 an hour for entetainment. Now lets say you beat HALO 2 in 15 hours = $ 3.66 an hour. Plus you can play on line for countless hours. The vary fact that many CAG'S are willing to pay $ 55.00 for a game is enough testimonial to it's greatness. Anyone who doesn't like Halo Probably doesn't like FPS ,or is really a CAG and to cheap to buy one of the best FPS ever for the XBOX.

What the hell is your problem with preorders? Why, in your mind, do preorders not count? Because people wanted the game even more that they put $5 down in advance, to ensure they had a copy on the first day? Why don't preorders count as sales to you? The 2.4 million doesn't count people that preordered and didn't pay, its only preorders that paid in full and picked the game up.

There is no difference in terms of sales between people that preordered beforehand and picked it up on the first day, and people that simply walked into a store and bought it the first day. They both went to the store on the first day and bought it. Every other game has preorders which are reflected in their first day sales, if the people that preordered go to the store and pay for it that day.

the hype got to people and it worked
wouldn't be a halo topic without it.

Yeah, there's always gotta be "hardass rebels" in threads about popular stuff. You could make a thread about how breathing is good and some moron will jump in and call it overrated.

Doesn't matter, if you enjoy the game, sweet, if not, go play something else and leave Halo fans to their circle jerks. Why people feel the need to try to push their opinions on other people is beyond me. Like some faceless name on a video game forum is going to make me suddenly dislike Halo because he thinks it's overrated and overhyped. Phft.

Actually, in GI they said that Bungie no longer has Xbox dev kits. Instead they have started development of Halo 3 with their new Xbox2 kits. I'm sure Halo 3 would be a great launch title.

Also, I don't trust GI since they are retards. However, this information may be true. Or not. Take it as you will.
If it's true, I wonder if that's the cause of Halo 2's abrupt ending or if Bungie had it planned like that all along, because that would make 2 Halo games that had flaws because of MS's shoving at that point. 3 if you count Halo 3 likely getting rushed to be a XB2 launch title.
Im very confused on your standing about preorders. Why dont preorders count, they were all picked up the same day and paid for? if thats the case then no game would of sold over a million on the first day. ohh btw when i said GOTY, I meant for console not PC. I will jump off a bridge if GTA:SA got it, because it brought more of the same in my opioion.

They weren't all bought on that first day, though, were they? By putting money down two years ago you, in essence, purchased it that day. Just because the "walk to the counter," so to speak, took two years to finish doesn't mean the game was bought on release day. Don't feel bad though. 1 million copies sold on the first day is still good, thought it does mean the game isn't as good as you thought, quality-wise, since sales=content now, apparently. If you can still enjoy it, that's all that's important, really.
