The last CAG get-together at my place went well, even though we only had a handful of people. So, to celebrate the release of Halo 2, and just because it would be badass, I figured we should all get together and play it the weekend after it comes out (Saturday the 13th). It will be held at my place on the north side of Chicago, near Lawrence and Damen. Everyone is welcome to attend, the idea being that you bring your own TV, Xbox, and copy of the game. I understand it's not practical for everyone to bring a TV, so we'll double-up etc. where needed. But since Halo 2 supports 16-players, each with their own TV, I figure we'll take advantage of it as best we can. So, feel free to post questions or whatever in this thread, or PM me if you like. And please, RSVP. Also, if you know anyone else on the board from the area, please point them in the direction of this thread. Thanks.
 
I'm in of course, having spent the 4 days prior getting acclimated to all the new modes and maps- i expect to wreck some fools. Hopefully we'll get some of the Wisconsin crews down and the Indy crews up to our fair city.

XBL is where all the CAGs will be at. I guess that it would be more fun for you guys to do it in person, though. It just enhances the experience. Well, I really don't feel like going from Dallas to Chicago, so I can't go.
 
Thats a whole nother thread really- the CAG Halo2 clanesque entity that will come about in some fashion or another when the day comes.
Live is cool, but as ive seen at our past meetups, being in the same room is vastly superior when gaming. Regardless, I'm sure we'll see (needle)you online.

In fact, I will start a CAG clan for Halo 2. :wink:

I live in the Chicago area, but I'm not very good at Halo. Would you guys care if I suck? I also have no idea how to get to the North Side from the Western Suburbs, but i can figure it out.
 
i'm sure no one would care how good you are, it will surely be good times regardless. and i can give directions for car or bus or whatever if people need them. also, if everyone could PM me if you know you're coming for sure.

I'll probably be working most of the day, but I should be there with my GXTV in tow.
 
I'll have 2 or 3 guys with me so i might bring a couple of tvs and all our boxes and controls for anyone else who needs them. Last time even 4 to a tv was cool as hell, dont let concern with lugging equipment keep you from coming.
 
I'm in! I hear rocksolid over there has the best Xbox parties around. Lots of chips and beverages, and hot, scantily clad women for when those load times just take a little too long.

Whats good to eat or are we going to order something? I wouldn't mine some football size pizza from Congress :D .

the 13th? Is it supposed to be all day? Cuz I dunno if I can go for an all day thing (being a working adult sux). Although it's a saturday, I still do work pretty much every day but I'm sure I'll be close - I'm on Irving and Central
 
just so everyone knows, it'll probably be from about 6p.m. until midnight at this point. unlike last time, my dad and brother will be home, so it can't go all night. we can continue via Live later that night :), i've just gotta kick everyone out before it gets too late. regardless, i figure a solid six hours of gaming is plenty. also, i assume we'll order some pizza or something.
 
well, i hate to say it, but the shindig might have to get cancelled. i've been fairly sick (probably from playing halo 2 all night), and i can't host 15+ people in this condition. i'm just not up to it. if i'm feeling better it will continue as scheduled, but there's a good chance it might not happen. sorry to disappoint, and if it does get cancelled (i'll let you guys know for sure on friday), we'll do one in the near future.
 
If he ever bothered to put it down for 5 seconds, he'd start playing Katamari Damashi or San Andreas. Ah the plight of our gaming brethren is a sordid one indeed.
Drink some Oj man, play some frisbee golf and you'll be back on your feet in no time. Live is really better than any of us expected it to be- nearly eliminating the need for get togethers anyway. Keep us posted tho, I was really looking forward to it.
 
Feel your pain rocksolid, I can't do many more of these 2am or 3am nights with work and being up at 6:15. Of course tonight and Sat. will be out of control gaming goodness.
 
sorry all, it's not gonna happen this weekend, i still feel like inside-out dick. i'll try to do it soon enough though, i'll keep this thread hoppin'. see you all online.
