Halo 3 is available to preorder for $49.99 at FamilyVideo, shipping is $.99, and $5 off coupons can be used by first time customers (NEWPGMEM, NWEGWMEM or NEWMEM5F). For a grand total of $45.98 shipped.

I've seen this deal mentioned (alfonsosoriano, jeremy517) in related threads, but this deserves it's own thread in my opinion. Great deal if you missed out on the Liongames offer. I can't find anywhere that this has been mentioned explicitly, sorry if this is a repost. Researching a similar preorder deal on GHII, most cags reported receiving their items within two days of release from FamilyVideo.

Update: They bumped the price up $6 apparently.

STill havent gotten THE HALO. I just wanna play THE HALO so bad! I just feel like goin out and buying THE HALO. i will never use 99 cent shipping again, being a cheap ass gamer has made me sad as all heck. My friends keeping reaching back like pimps and slapping the hoes in THE HALO, while i try my best to not run into spoilers on the interweb.:bomb:

I'm done with Family Video. I gave them a second chance after taking a full week to deliver Heavenly Sword and it looks like Halo 3 is going to wind up the same despite shipping on the release day while I had to wait for Heavenly Sword to be restocked. It's bad when Amazon's free shipping always gets here faster than Family Video's $0.99 shipping. But it's the stories of damaged products from their cheap envelopes that makes me not want to shop there anymore no matter how good the deal is.

It sucks that you've had trouble with them. It sounds like everyone else got their product okay aside from the obvious Microsoft packaging flaws. Both of my orders came out perfectly fine.

My friend ordered his last night. We are in ohio, hopefully he gets his by saturday! I saw the price went up to 56 bucks today! I ordered zelda from family video and I think it came in about a week.

I agree w/ Taint. I ordered Halo3 from Family video ($.99 shipping), and I've been stalking the mailbox for the past wk. Dang. I should be earning achievements like "You finished Halo3 in 30 minutes, while eating corn on the cob, you're the bomb!" but instead I get stuff like "You gained 4 pant sizes while eating nothing but pizza and bomb pops, you're a blimp!" Why would my elite say that?

Glad I ordered when the price was cheap. I am not in too much of a hurry for it to arrive however, since my 360 is broke.

You guys aren't gonna believe this...

So I just got my copy in the mail today. It came wrapped in a padded envelope and everything. The copy was sealed up with all of the security stickers and what not. I opened up the case and THERE WAS NO DISC INSIDE !!!! WTF ! I'm not even sure who I should contact in a case like this. Was it possible it was taken out by somebody at FAmilyVideo or a manufacturing mistake ?! I'm gonna call family video and see what happens. Just pissed off that something like this happened.

You should talk to Microsoft about that. Seriosuly. Bro. Your elite is one elite peice of mean.

As for the guy with no game in his sleeve, im truley sorry. Thats such a terrible thing to happen. And again i got no game on monday. There is always tomorrow :( :cold: Why did family video raise the price thats dumb, and so is not drinkin game fuel. Game Fuel FTW

Well, I haven't lost faith in them quite yet, and I suppose I could be angrier about the whole situation. The truth is that I'm not the BIGGEST fan in the world when it comes to Halo, so I don't mind the wait. If I was, I probably would have ordered instead from amazon. I'm just upset that I paid $50 for something and it shows up with no disc. And I'm worried because FamilyVideo seems like a small business that won't want to deal with something like this (i.e., they think I'm lying). In any case, I've tried calling their corporate office and their 1-888 number and left them messages. I also emailed them from their website. I just want my game.

Crazy. I got mine the day after release (they shipped the Saturday before release). It was the CE, and I was expecting crappy packing from what I've read and all. It came in a box, and had plenty of padding, so needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, the discs were fairly scratched due to the case manufacturers' fault, but hey, I'm pretty happy with FV on the whole.

Well, I just spoke to them regarding the missing disc and their customer service was very good. AFter working out some details, they are going to send me UPS 2nd day for a replacement disc. I see myself shopping from them if they have really good deals again and it could be that what happened was a manufacturing problem.

Shit, nothing in the mail today. What a joke. I was going to loan it to my brother until I beat Halo 2 (go ahead, laugh) but he managed to rent a copy already.

Mine showed up today. In a water damaged plastic bag shredded on one corner. Never shopping from these motherfuckers again. In fact, I might take a shit in a bag and go put it in the local Family Video's drop box. With a note to forward it to the corporate office.

I just got mine yesterday. It was in perfect condidion. I guess the wait is the trade-off for saving $15, wether or not it was worth it....

Well, it's been 15 days and my Heaveny Sword isnt here.

They never answered my emails. 4 in total regarding this game.

I guess I'll just call, which is a huge burden. They shouldnt pretend to have customer support via email!

What happens now?
Do they ship me out another copy for free?

I doubt they even shipped it in the 1st place!
Mail does NOT get lost, in my whole life time not ONCE!

i believe i ordered halo 1 from familyvideo when it was like a little over 5 bucks. i didn't have a problem with 'em. i did put my order in for halo 3 a few days ago...hoping i don't have a problem.

EDIT: put my order in on the 9/30, and i got an email yesterday 10/2 saying it's been shipped. we'll see...*crosses fingers*.

i had ordered the limited from bestbuy, but yeah...it was scratched so i returned it. that's why i'm ordering from family video...and like i said i didn't have a problem with them before.

Wow, you still didn't get Heavenly Sword? That's not good. Chances are it got lost in the mail. That almost happened to my Halo copy. The copy of Halo 3 that showed up today was in a package that was all shredded. The torn envelope was in a plastic bag and there was a letter from the post office INSIDE the Family Video package within their own bag. So that basically means Family Video's dinky little shipping package got torn open and the game was visible. The corner of the DVD case looks like somebody went to town with a chisel (time to swap it with my worthless Madden 06 case) I'm just glad the post office employee that dealt with it didn't decide to pocket my game.

Those idiots need to start using the padded bubble envelopes. A lot of people here had a standard experience, but I've seen too many instances of damaged packaging. I'd pay another buck for the shipping if that meant getting a more rigid package.

EDIT: Shit, I can't use the Madden case because of the NFL hologram sticker. Guess it's going to be Tenchu Z that takes one for the team.

Well, what do I do?
Just inform them it's been too many weeks, and they'll send out a new copy?

Since they never respind to me, I wanna play with them, title an email:
"Better Business Bureau:

lol I bet they'll finally reply to my complaint.

HS is the only game I've wanted, really. My Halo is still in the wrapper. I'm just pretty much done with FPS

Ring them up (1-888-332-6843), reference your order number. Don't ask for a new copy right off. Find out if it shipped so you can decide if you should be polite or not. If it didn't, threaten to cancel and see how they handle it. If it did, tell them it's been too long and you are going to call your credit card company. They wouldn't have these kind of problems if they used tracking numbers.

crazy. mine came in a nice bubble padded envelope. I couldn't ask for more. Maybe your local post office has an especially nasty mail sorter and/or crappy employees.

I called them, the lady seemed willing to help, although she can't help me for 3 more days. It seems like they will help me though so im happy about that.

familyvideo gets my thumbs up again...

ordered: 9/30 (SUNDAY)
shipped out: 10/2 (TUESDAY)
received: 10/4 (THURSDAY)

that was with the 99c shipping btw.

sry for those who have experienced probs with them, but my experiences have always been great.
im jealous and ur a jerk for playin halo when i cant:bomb:
lol i actually haven't popped it in yet. it's still sealed...hangin' out on my entertainment center. ahhh....choices...lol j/k man. hope you get yours soon. :bouncy:

Same here, it was a bubble padded envelope. The only thing is the game case does not close flush on the top and bottom (like a 3mm gap) as if it was maybe crushed a little in the mail but otherwise no problems.
Does anyone know of a good way to get that dumb RF ID tag or whatever off, the black square one? I took the small rectangle one off easy but the square one pulled off nasty and now it looks kinda like a mess, (I know I should have know better but it tricked me and looked like it might actually come off).

Oh and BTW thanks for the great deal! Glad I got it before the price hike!

Got mine today. Never used FV before and was pleasantly surprised.
Ordered: Sun (9/30)
Shipped: Tues (10/2)
Recieved: Today (10/6)
Not bad for .99 shipping

i think we need to either make a sticky thread for family video in general or just stop allowing all the "so and so game" $51 at family video with coupon threads that is the same coupon just on different games. we all should know by now that fv is cheaper but has slow shipping.

Well idk, when they are the best deal out there I think it deserves it's own thread. This site is "cheap"assgamer, not firstassgamer, or fastestassgamer.

I do dig the compilation threads though that have all the deals for one game.

Im cool with a new thread for everygame. Cause not all games start at the same price. Halo was 49.99, and a lot of other games are 55.99 and things of that nature. BUTTT Still no game on saturday or monday! SO its been the 15+ days with no delievery so i Gotta Call now. DAM IT:hot:

I don't mean to be a jerk, but that was a very vague and pointless post. Are you suggesting people should get Gamefly?
