Halo 3 Still Breaking Records

People listen up, as I can only say this so many times before I start paying personal visits and start beating the stupid out of each and every one of you:

YOUR MOTHER fuckING OPINION IS NOT FACT. YOU CAN LIKE OR HATE WHATEVER THE fuck YOU WANT, BUT STOP BITCHING LIKE A LITTLE BITCH BECAUSE YOU DISLIKE A HIGH SCORING GAME AND VICE VERSA. IT'S OKAY TO HATE HALO 3, BUT STOP BEING A WHINY LITTLE DOUCHE BAG ABOUT IT, JUST SHUT THE fuck UP AND PLAY SOMETHING ELSE.

:bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

Okay I'm done ranting.
Ignoring previous insults which called for such generalizations. Nice. Why don't you and Chart Boy go get a room?
Only if you join us;)

why do people hate halo? the first one was really fun, i remember playing it co-op until morning. multiplayer was great as well.

i don't own any halo games, or an xbox or a 360. i do a lot of pc gaming as well, so i know FPS are better on a PC. i knew the third one would make a shit-ton of money and i know ms is not lying about those sales figures.

i'm pretty sure it has to do with hating anything that is popular

Shit. I might even do it a second time.
Looks like it's game over for Sony and Nintendo, you heard it directly from the mouths of Microsoft PR

Thats it, this gen is won

Interesting out of the 4 games picked only 2 are exclusive to the 360, you would have thought they could have done a bit better than that.

Still, making ridiculous grandiose statements never did a company any harm, did it Sony??:)
I was just about to point out that quote too

Cool news for Halo, but that's a fucking stupid thing to say.

I wonder what compelled people to buy those 30 DSes over the DSL.

Also, whats the over/under is on the number of weeks the PSP is gonna last at the top before the juggernaut known as the DSL returns to take back its throne?

And Wii only outselling PS3 by less than 200%? Did either system receive any noteworthy games this week?
With games such as “Halo 3,” “Madden 08” (EA Sports), “Mass Effect” (Microsoft Game Studios) and “Rock Band” (Harmonix), Xbox 360 has the greatest lineup in the history of video games

The last couple of weeks for PSP are 277k, 95k, 15k, 22k.

They have maybe a week or two more on top, but I dont think they're going to fall all the way back to pre-slim levels.

I dont think PS3/Wii had anything significant. Home consoles am doomed.

and because I get off on this sort of thing (neogaf):

Wii comparisons: At week 44, Wii is where GCN was at 172.5 weeks (December 29, 2004), where GBA was at 38.0 weeks (December 9, 2001), where DS was at 50.6 weeks (November 17, 2005), where PS2 was at 55.5 weeks (March 21, 2001), and where PSP was at 82.3 weeks (July 4, 2006).

PS3 comparisons: At week 47, PS3 is where PS2 was at 5.3 weeks (April 4, 2000), where PSP was at 18.1 weeks (April 10, 2005), where GCN was at 21.9 weeks (February 9, 2002), and where Wii was at 6.6 weeks (January 11, 2007).

DS vs PSP: Weekly shares of 41.5 / 58.5 bring the total shares to 75.3 / 24.7, back where things were early December 2006. At this week's rates PSP catches up to DS in 438.4 weeks (February 25, 2016). If DS stopped selling, PSP would catch up in 127.4 weeks (March 11, 2010).

PS3 vs Wii: Weekly shares of 35.2 / 64.8, bringing the total shares to 24.4 / 75.6. If Wii stopped selling, PS3 would catch up in 186.5 weeks (April 28, 2011).

PSP vs Wii: At this week's rates, Wii doesn't catch up to PSP.

PS2 vs DS: At this week's rates DS and PS2 meet in 20.9 weeks (February 23, 2008) at ~21.0 million apiece.

Indeed. It's like they're becoming the home for little more than FPS and Big Time Sports Franchise Insert Year Here. If you like RPG, action/adventure, platformers, strategy...you really need look no further than the handhelds. Especially if you're into RPGs.

It stems from the high development costs on consoles. Anything without mass market appeal simply isn't viable anymore, and forget about niche titles. However, I see two alternatives, handhelds and XBLA/Wii VC.

The big budget RPG's from Square, Bethesda, etc will still be around, but everyone else is being squeezed out.

I'm not clear on what these numbers are. I assume HW is hardware, but what is MC? What do the numbers represent? Actual physical units sold? In what area? It seems odd that the PSP is the overwhelmingly sold piece of hardware.

Media Create, they track software and hardware sold in Japan on a weekly basis.

Numbers represent units sold to customers.

That is for 9/24-9/30.

PSP is normally not on top. They're normally in the neighborhood of 20k, but FF7: Crisis Core plus the launch of the slim have given them a temporary lead. Normally its nothing but DS over there.

Well do tell. I don't believe I've ever tried to push my opinion on other people as fact, but if you got examples I'm all eyes.

Are you referencing the Lair incident? That was me simply stating what the reviewers and most others thought of the game. I said it multiple times; my opinion on Lair is nothing, because I never even played the game. Whoknows was just ranting because he / she liked Lair, while most of the world did not.

Or, are you referencing the Skate Vs THPS thread? That was a thread where we got to pick which we preferred, I picked THPS, when Skate was apparently the only answer. I'm sorry, I had no idea it was a "Skate's the greatest thing ever, let's all hate on THPS" thread.

You want irony? You and your little quote, Zewone & Punk calling me a troll. That's fucking irony there. Hey while we're at it, let's have Lil Boo call me gay, Mana Knight call me a fan boy, and darknessbear call me a dumbass. The more hypocrites, better AMIRITE?

Please tell me how I'm a troll.

Halo 3 is a good game, and Its success is good for the game industry wether you like it or not.

On any given week take alook at the #1 movie, or the top selling albums, they're usually not the 'best' movie or album out there, but by the film studio or record company making money off of something you may not like, it opens the door for them to release less mainstream albums or films that you may like.

Film studios usually only make money on a handful of titles per year, but those films pay for all the arthouse stuff that while good, lose money cos noone ever sees them.

If you like your 360, I dont see how you can begrudge Halo its success. Noones saying its the best game ever, just the most successful.

I love how non-conformist haters think that people who like and buy a product and praise it are sheep...

Yet amazing how many people hate just because they think it's cool to hate something and they're being different, yet they're conforming to something else. Sounds kinda like sheep to me as well.

Anyways...congrats Microsoft and Bungie. Halo 3 is a great game, but not perfect. Perfection is unattainable...as you can always make something better.
Please tell me how I'm a troll.
Not saying you're a Troll, just that you most certainly have more Troll-like traits, more or less pointing out hypocrisy. You seem to forget you came at me.

People on CAG judge way too much. I'll admit I'm apart of that group, but I'm really getting fed up with this shit.

I have no idea what threads you're referring to, but what I was refering to your claim that Zelda's obviously an RPG and all doubters are just special ed students:

The best quote of the bunch:
Okay, I give up.

I feel like like I'm trying to teach special ed. students how to add. At least they get paid for the crap they have to put up with.

If you want to assume that the majority of the Zelda series are not Action-RPGs, then go right ahead. Not like it changes the fact that they are.
The key parts of your post are highlighted for easy access.

Have fun.

yikes. The Zelda-RPG arguement..

I've always hated that that one has to exist, because I don't give two shits either way. Genre arguements are just about THE worst.

Punk? Two things.

1). List examples of where I've trolled.
2). You just don't let anything go do you?

ps. net=serious business

What's good and what's successful are rarely the same thing. Look at TV Shows, Look at Movies, Look at Music, and Look at Video Games.

I mean look at the numbers Madden puts up.

But, I think Halo appeals to both the hardcore and casual gamer, which is similar to why the Wii is so successful right now. It has something for everyone.
