Halo: Reach

I have been thinking about the new helmet shown in screenshots for the map pack. Although it was stated that no new armor is going to be released with the DLC, I think we will be getting the armor another way; Halo Waypoint. Think about it. 343 is going to take over sooner or later and they are involved with Waypoint. My guess is that the new armor will be unlocked by having certain achievements (ex: CQC hemet), or by reaching a certain Waypoint Milestone level. This is all just speculation on my end, but I think its plausible. Why would a screenshot of new armor get released and then quickly say we will not get it? There was hype for like 3 days. How odd...

P.S. I guess I'm not All Star worthy :
 
Hmmm decided to pop this in today after not playing this game since November 8th. Wow i still see a lot of people below my rank of Brigadier Grade 3. Had to get used to the aiming, and how slow it is. I have it on 10 (insane) and its still slower than what i use in Black Ops. Anyway i played a few games and it looked like this...

Depends on the playlist, but as far as swat goes, Sword Base always seems to be the most popular, yes. Probably as it's (imo) the easiest map to do well on.

After a couple more DLC packs, they probably will come out with a Complete Multiplayer Experience like they did for Halo 3.

That was the Halo 2 model. IIRC, only one of the Halo 3 packs went free.

I had to go to the "Add-ons for my games" thing in the marketplace. I was actually looking for the Noble pack, not even realizing the defiant pack was coming out today. I hadn't played Halo in several weeks.

Yes I can confirm, I did the oddball one in customs.

The new MP maps are great maps. Worth the 800 points alone, have not played the new FF map though. Looks huge in the video I saw of it.

Just like the Noble map pack, by the time my friends and I played last night, apparently everyone else had been playing all day/evening. We got fucking served on the outdoor map, multiple times. I think one match our entire team had a negative double digit k/d ratio while the other team was all positive. :(

Condemned was fun though. It was much easier to get a grasp of, despite not knowing where the choice weapons were.
 
Has anyone else been playing these maps? My time with Reach multiplayer has been dwindling over the past couple weeks, and I can't see really see myself playing anymore Fire Fight. That said, I'm not entirely sold on dropping $10 for two maps, but if they are good (I'm talking Sword Base good), then I can make an exception. So what is the verdict? How are they?
 
If you play the DLC playlist you'll get a good helping of both Noble Map Pack and Defiant. Highlands is really friggin huge...almost too big imo for 6 vs 6, but like any map fun is in your experience. Somedays I hate swordbase, somedays I love it. New FF map is also huge and hell if you have an afk booster or two with you, otherwise, it's different. I liked Condemed so far 6 vs 6.

With all the ways you can earn bonus and free ms points, if you think it's worth 800 points then go for it...if not, spend them elsewhere. New maps are only worth it if you play often.
 
I found a mint condition Halo Reach with some Recon Helmet code intact for $24 at a closing Blockbuster. Does anyone think there'll be a better deal anytime soon or will it hold it's MSRP value for awhile and hence no similar deals on the game for a long time? I still have some catching up to do in the series so it's not a rush to get the game, but I don't want to pass up a deal and then wait forever for a good bargain on it. Also, are there different versions with pack ins that are worth spending more for or a reason to get new? Thanks Halo fans!

I would get the game now, thats a pretty good deal. Not unless you want the legendary or the limited edtion. I got the legendary edition and it's more than half price at some places. I would get the legendary if you like the statue and all the things that comes with it.

I'm really more interested in not missing out on in-game items as opposed to the statue or those kind of extras. I'm not a super fan that wants those kinds of extras. Honestly, I've only played a few levels in Halo 1. That's it. Every time I tried playing it my original xboxes randomly died and had to be shipped away and it kept getting back in my backlog. It's near the top of my list to play through the whole series one right after the other though, especially with ODST dropping to $20.
 
Yeah that is true. I know I am biased a bit, but I would play through all of the Halo games, I think it is a great series. MP is just a bonus. I would highly recommend Halo Wars as well. Very underrated game. The online might might be dead, idk because I have not played since getting all the achievements for it. I got my moneys worth out of it, great campaign too.
 
Curious because I want to maybe get and display some more gaming stuff..what are the dimensions of the legendary statue and helmet? Anyone got a pic of both together?
 
Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, but there's two new playlists (don't know how long they'll last though).

First is Action Sack which includes Hockey, HaloBall and HaloBall Xtreme (skeeball), Power Slayer (you get powerups when you kill others), Speedpile, and SpeedCTF (both of which I think you go faster when you have the flag).

The second is Classic Slayer which is Team Slayer and Team Rifles (that I've noticed so far) on community remakes of maps from the first Halo. There's also no armor abilities, but there are powerups scattered around the map such as overshield.

Hockey is awesome or it would be if people didnt run around trying to assassinate all the time. Hopefully they will fix that and add a none of the above option on the voting.

Some Halo 2 maps too (well at least Lockout).

Funny you mention the assassinating. Hockey is actually pretty good if you're trying to work on that commendation. Although yes, a none of the above option would be nice.

you can imagine my surprise when someone picked Fistfight...and then understanding why one of them dropped immediately. Fiesta fight was crappy...they started me off with the plasma pistol.
