HAPPY NEW YEAR.. Any info about Wii shipments for the first week of 07???
I disagree with that. I would rather take my chances of randomly finding one than having wait in line for hours.
As someone who took their chances for fucking two weeks only to keep missing out and having to base my whole life upon beating all the hoarders and just stumbling into a Wii, I disagree.

No store employee is helpful, and I kept finding out "Oh, we just sold out" or "Oh, we got them in yesterday, someone bought them all".

I would have much rather waited in line for a few hours and know for a fact I can walk out with a Wii, rather than waste two whole weeks looking.

The only reason I have one is because a CAG stumbled into one and was nice enough to sell it to me for cost + ship. Now I can take the time I wasted looking for it and actually play it.

I second that, roufuss. I guess if you have a lot of time and cell minutes during the day, then the other way may be better for you. But for most of us, being able to plan and put time into one period instead of a little into many is easier.

Exactly... 5 hours waiting in front of a store is nothing compared to the 20 + I put in over two weeks and turned up empty handed every time. I burned about two tanks of gas alone just driving to places where Wii's were sighted and either being too late or just getting bad info.

I agree, although before xmas I spent 6 hours waiting in the freezing cold and still didn't get one. Hopefully now with what sounds like an increased # of units in stock, no xmas shoppers, and more gamers having already successfully found a Wii I won't need to show up quite so early to get one on the 21st.

I scored a Wii yesterday at my local EBGames, totally by chance. I walked in there to take advantage of the 25% off of 360 games deal, only to realize that the deal had ended the day before. So then I wanted to give the Wii display a try, but they had no controllers for it.

The employee says "Well, I can sell you one if you want."

I reply: "A controller, or the Wii?"

He says: "A Wii. I got two in this morning, and some guy bought the other one. I have one left if you want it."

"Hell yes."

And so, I am now a proud Wii owner. This also propels me into the ranks of Wii60, and I love it. I haven't gotten a chance to play the Wii yet, as I was working on my house all yesterday, but I hope to give it a try tonight.

Oh, and I also bought Zelda, the Zelda Collector's Guide, and Metal Arms Anthology. Awesome! I was saving that money up for a pistol, but my resolve wavered when I knew I had the chance to buy a Wii. I guess I could always just try to distract the robbers with my Wii controllers, and then strangle them with the sensor bar cord. What a way to go...... ;)

I also waited in line several times to get a Wii before Christmas and came up empty. In some ways it is better when they do Sunday ad Wii sales because if they say "minimum 20 per store" then at least you can count the people in line and know for sure if you'll get one. Nothing was worse than the time I was 9th in line at CC with the $40 off coupon ready to go only to find out they got 6.
